esigned by Claudine, the designer of Inside Story, this cosy flat was given a facelift that was much deserved. Being the only occupants of this abode, the couple was given the luxury of space in addition to the vibrant charm it holds.

Left: Tone down vibrant colours by adding neutral tones for the rest of the room, and keeping furniture to a minimal.

separating the kitchen and living room with a glass door not only looks sleek, it keeps the odours away too.

Being big on red, the living room clearly conveys just that. The red exudes such plangency in the living room against the light brown sofa. Not wanting to go overboard with colours though, the rest of the room was kept humble with the simple neutral tones. The sleek lines of the black and white feature wall mellows the whole room, giving it a sense of balance.

Paralleling the living room, the kitchen adapted the contemporary ensemble of red, white and grey. With the distinct lines and shiny surfaces, the kitchen was cooking up a storm on its own. Being smart too, the black glass was a great idea to conceal oil and other mess when cooking if there were guests around. Much different from most homes, the biggest space of this house was given to the dining area. The dining area stretches out to the size of two rooms, leaving ample space to simply laze around and feel the breeze from the 24th storey. This individualism was perfected even more with the mirror panels and adjacent glass home office, which makes the unit appear even bigger. Staying honest to the colour scheme; the lines, white and red continues to live in this room too.

The glass study room gives off a surreal atmosphere to the house somewhat like a box in a box. With the continual promise of minimalistic ideas, this home office was kept sleek with little furniture. Giving it an edge of contrast were the simple white chairs and wooden flooring. Leaving the room clutter-free is definitely a positive way for a conducive work environment, right at home.

There is no better way to convey romance than in the master bedroom. Tipping over the romantic factor is the black closet with pretty floral details. Behind this dark-toned closet hides the television, daily necessities and fashion affair. Apart from conserving space by doubling up as a storage area, this is also a smart move to hide mess in a jiffy. Last but not the least, the cleansing sanctuary adapts a different approach

with the wooden walls. The whole sombre-setting calms down the hype from the other rooms, allowing one to relax and relieve the stress. The hint of glass and silver stays true to the minimalistic idea of the house. Minimalism has always been a favourite for new-age couples. Adding that idealistic movement with an over-splurging of a bold colour simply creates an interesting concoction for the home, that will leave you nodding in agreement. Left: Having more shoes doesn’t necessarily mean more mess. Keep the mess away with built-in cabinets.
