S P O T LIGHT: O UT S I D E THE ORCH ESTR A On Monday, March 16, Inside the Orchestra rolled out the beginning of our “Outside the Orchestra” initiative. Outside the Orchestra’s digital content ranges widely, and includes no-prep-no-mess activities, themed playlists, performance videos, hands-on STEAM experiments, music games, and educational videos about the orchestra and its instruments — just to name a few. First, it was daily emails, full of digital content for parents and teachers to bring music and art to kids at home. Then it was bringing our entire 2021 season online in three languages, highlighting over thirty performers through virtual concert experiences, hosting virtual field trips and zoom sessions for kids in the US and Europe, providing expanded learning materials, and publishing activity books to be sent to homes and schools. It’s making a difference. Our music resources are being used by parents and teachers, at home and in school, across the country and across the globe. Our musicians are performing for and educating children in Colorado and across the country who are signed up for virtual Tiny Tots – and thousands of them are from underserved communities and are given access for free. Inside the Orchestra will continue to innovate in response to the pandemic, and we are dedicated to serving our mission - no matter what. Online programming usage globally, March - June 2020
