WINTER

Blistering winds, frigid cold and never-ending windshield scraping can be defeating. Even worse, stepping into a vehicle with soggy carpets, soiled by months of road salt, mud and slush.

Lucky for you, that’s not the case. With laser-measured WeatherTech FloorLiners designed to perfectly contour the footwell of your vehicle, winter’s mess doesn’t get absorbed - it remains contained. Guaranteed to never break or crack, it’s tough enough to handle coldest temperatures Canada has to offer, for as long as you own your vehicle.

Now that’s a WIN!

WELCOME TO MOTORAMA

ENJOY YOUR TIME AT THE MOTORAMA CUSTOM CAR & MOTORSPORTS EXPO PRESENTED BY EBAY MOTORS

Welcome to the 10th Annual eBay Motors Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo! On behalf of everyone involved, we’re thrilled to have you here. We want to extend our deepest thanks to all the showgoers, car owners, racers, motorsports fans, exhibitors, promoters and sponsors who have helped turn Motorama into an event we can all be proud of. We hope you have a fantastic time today!

The sheer quality and quantity of amazing vehicles on display continue to astonish. In a time when many are pushing for bland, silent and standardized cars, it’s truly inspiring to see so many people still passionate about machines that stand for performance, personality and individuality.

A huge thank you to the car owners and builders who’ve brought their incredible cars to Motorama, with some traveling from far and wide to showcase their creations. Your dedication to the craft is what makes this event so special.

Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect as you explore the show today:

In Hall 1 – The Grand Hall, you’ll find 28 cars, many of which are making their debut. Each vehicle is displayed in its own 20’ x 20’ space, giving these incredible machines the spotlight they deserve.

Starting on Saturday morning, keep an eye out for the Valvoline Canadian 10 banners, especially in Hall 1. One of these featured cars will be crowned the Motorama Grand Champion on Sunday afternoon at the Meguiar’s Stage in Hall 2.

At the east end of the hall is the eBay Motors display. Be sure to stop by and chat with their booth ambassadors to learn how eBay Motors can help you maintain and enhance your vehicles.

Next, head into the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone, presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance. This year, the Canadian racing community has truly embraced Motorama as the unofficial kick-off to the racing season.

The Racing Zone is busier than ever, with representatives from many of the province’s racing series and tracks, leading equipment suppliers, collectible vendors and over 70 stunning race cars from the Racers’

Corral. It’s an exciting preview of the upcoming racing season.

In Hall 2, you’ll find a diverse range of car clubs, feature displays, corporate exhibitors, the Meguiar’s Stage, the Truck-O-Rama, and the DriveWise Spring Fever ‘Tuner / Modified’ Zone. There’s so much to see here, so take your time to browse and chat with car owners.

Also in Hall 2, behind the Meguiar’s Stage in the northeast corner, is the entrance to Zehr Insurance Mayhem… in the Backroom. Step into a time machine as you enter Mayhem, where dozens of traditional cars, car clubs, a DJ, pin-up girls, pinstripe artists and vintage vendors transport you back to the 1950s.

We’re also excited to welcome our special guests Chip Foose and Rust Bros’ Mike Hall and Avery Shoaf. Chip was scheduled to attend in 2020, but the pandemic caused a last-minute cancellation, so we’re thrilled to finally have him with us.

This year marks not only the 10th anniversary of Motorama but also the 50th anniversary of the first Motion Custom Car Show in 1975. To celebrate, we’re featuring a special display in Hall 2 with 10 past Grand Champion Award-winning vehicles representing every era of the show. Be sure to also check out the stunning Lowrider feature in Hall 3 and the ‘Straight Axle’ feature in Hall 2, presented by Lowdown Hot Rods.

We’re incredibly grateful to Gary Challice, our Show Car Coordinator, and his right-hand man Bob Sumak for their incredible work curating so many amazing vehicles.

Big thanks also go to Brandon Roberts (Mayhem Manager), Brandon Hamid (Spring Fever Manager), Sam Fakhoury (Truck-O-Rama supporter), and everyone else who worked tirelessly to make Motorama a reality. And of course, thank you to eBay Motors and all of our sponsors, exhibitors, staff and volunteers for your amazing support.

And most importantly, thank you for attending! Without you, none of this would be possible. We hope you enjoy every moment of the show and have an amazing summer. We can’t wait to see you again next year.

EBAY MOTORS: SHOW SPONSOR

EBAY MOTORS RETURNS AS THE PRIMARY SPONSOR OF THE EBAY MOTORS MOTORAMA SHOW

In December, the Toronto Motorama show was pleased to announce that eBay Motors would retain its position as the title sponsor of Canada’s largest auto enthusiast and motorsports show through at least the 2025 and 2026 editions of Motorama. The e-commerce giant has been a sponsor since 2022 and will return with a prominent exhibitor display at the east end of Hall 1.

Custom and classic car owners, along with motorsports enthusiasts, consider eBay Motors the go-to destination for parts and accessories they can trust. With the “Fits Your Vehicle” green check mark, buyers can be confident that parts will fit their ride, whether they purchase basic maintenance upgrades or hard-to-find pieces. For more information, visit eBay.ca/motors to start your next project.

The next eBay Motors Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo takes place March 7, 8 & 9, 2025 at The International Centre, across from Toronto’s Pearson Airport. It’s going to be special for many reasons, including two notable anniversaries. It will be the 10th anniversary of the first Motorama show, in 2015. And it will be the 50th anniversary of the first time the International Centre hosted ‘Dizzy’ Dean Murray’s legendary Motion Rod & Custom Car Show on the March Break weekend in 1975. It’s been a favourite of Canadian car and racing lovers ever since.

“It’s hard to believe it’s going to be 10 years since the first Motorama show,” said show co-promoter David Weber. “And we’re proud to be continuing the five-decade tradition of the great car shows that have taken place at the same venue, on the same weekend. And we’re honoured and excited to have eBay Motors continue as our partner as we all come together to celebrate our love of cars, racing, and these two special anniversaries. Motorama’s attendees and car owners love their vehicles and eBay Motors is the perfect tool for them to maintain and improve them. It’s a great partnership. Last year’s show was incredible and we’re working hard to make the next one even better.”

In addition to being the title sponsor of the eBay Motors Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo, eBay Motors also has a large display booth in Hall 1.

CHIP FOOSE

OVERHAULIN’ STAR AND LEGENDARY DESIGNER / BUILDER TO APPEAR MARCH 8 & 9 AT MOTORAMA

In the automotive enthusiast community, Chip Foose is a legend. Best known as the star of the hit show Overhaulin’, Foose is also celebrated as one of the most talented, successful, and popular automotive designers and builders in the world. His impressive resume includes numerous accolades and major awards.

Foose, a California resident, was originally scheduled to make his Toronto Motorama show debut in 2020 but was forced to cancel his appearance due to the onset of the pandemic. Five years later, the organizers of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo, presented by eBay Motors, are thrilled to announce that Chip Foose will be in attendance at the upcoming show, meeting and interacting with showgoers on Saturday and Sunday, March 8 & 9, 2025.

“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Toronto and being part of the Motorama show in March,” said Foose in his announcement. “Canadian car people are passionate about cool vehicles, and it’s always fun connecting with them at shows like Motorama. We’ll be there for two days, meeting fans, signing autographs, taking pictures, and telling stories. It’s going to be a great time.”

A four-time winner of the prestigious Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama, Foose is also a seven-time recipient of the Goodguys Street Rod of the Year Award. At just 31, he became the youngest-ever inductee into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame when he was honored in 1997.

BORN AND RAISED IN CALIFORNIA

A second-generation designer and builder, Foose was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. He honed his skills working alongside his father and several other influential automotive innovators. In the late 1990s, he founded Foose Design, an automotive and product design company that has since become an industry leader. Foose’s public profile skyrocketed in 2004 with the debut of Overhaulin’, a popular TV show that ran for nine seasons until 2015, in which the cars of unsuspecting owners were restored and improved without their knowledge. The show returned for a tenth season with shows airing in 2019 and 2020.

A rockstar in the automotive world, Foose maintains long-standing sponsor relationships with some of the biggest names in the industry. His projects are regularly showcased at high-profile events such as the Las Vegas SEMA Show, further cementing his status as a leading figure in car culture.

Speaking on behalf of Motorama, co-promoter David Weber said, “We’re proud and excited to announce that Chip Foose is coming to the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. This is our tenth anniversary edition of Motorama, and it coincides with the 50th anniversary of car shows happening on the same weekend at the International Centre. Chip Foose is a legend in the industry, and we can’t think of anyone better to help us celebrate these two important anniversaries with our fans and exhibitors.”

Originally scheduled to be at Motorama in 2020, Chip Foose will be at the 2025 edition of the show.

THE RUST BROS RETURN!

At last year’s edition of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, The Rust Bros made a huge impression. It all started with a well-documented cross-Canada drive through several days of blizzard conditions in a 1968 Chevelle. And the level of chaos associated with their trip to the Toronto Motorama show only increased from there.

Show organizers are excited to announce that Mike Hall and Avery Shoaf – The Rust Bros from TV’s Rust Valley Restorers – are returning to Motorama for all three days of this year’s special 10th anniversary show, which runs March 7, 8 & 9 at The International Centre, across from Toronto’s Pearson Airport.

Based in Tappen, British Columbia, The Rust Bros have gained a worldwide following for their entertaining and creative take on life, and their work rebuilding and restoring classic cars. Their Rust Bros (Official) YouTube channel is updated daily with car builds, road trips, behind-thescenes action at the shop and lots of laughs. ‘Wildman’ Avery Shoaf also has his own Wildman Garage YouTube channel, where he streams his own car antics, epic builds and wild adventures.

Mike Hall, the Rust Bros’ experienced pro, brings decades of expertise and a sharp eye for restoration to all his projects. His deep understanding of classic cars and a strong commitment to perfection make him the key driver behind many of the group’s bold builds. And while he enjoys finding new cars, his reluctance to part with long ignored vehicles already in his possession is a regular topic of discussion.

Avery Shoaf, the team’s talented artist and fabricator, adds a distinct creative touch to every restoration. From custom paint jobs to complex metalwork, Avery’s meticulous attention to detail and imaginative vision push The Rust Bros’ creations to new levels. And beyond his automotive talents, his infectious laugh is a favourite with fans of the show.

The non-stop banter – between Mike, Avery and their friends and other members of the crew – keeps their viewers engaged and entertained.

Announcing their return to the Toronto Motorama show, Rust Bro Mike Hall said, “We’re excited to announce that we’re going back to the Motorama show, in Toronto. I don’t know why, but for some unknown

reason, they’ve invited us back! It’s the tenth anniversary of Motorama and the 50th anniversary of them having car shows in the same place on the same weekend.”

Fellow Rust Bro Avery ‘Wildman’ Shoaf chimed in, “We’ll be there all three days – March 7th, 8th and 9th – signing autographs, taking selfies, selling swag, looking at cars, meeting up with old friends and making some new ones.”

DROVE THROUGH A BLIZZARD LAST YEAR

In the days leading up to the Rust Bros’ appearance at last year’s Motorama show, they drove a 1968 Chevelle through a 72-hour blizzard on their way from BC to Toronto. Talking about their travel plans for this year’s trek to Motorama, Mike Hall says it’s still ‘to be determined.’

“We had such a great time getting there last year… but this year, we might take the train. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll see what the weather does. But we’re going to be there no matter what. We look forward to seeing everyone again on March 7, 8 and 9 at Motorama.”

Speaking about the Rust Bros’ return appearance, show co-promoter David Weber said, “In the years we’ve been doing the show, we’ve never had a reaction to an appearance like we had with them last year. We heard from many showgoers that they either didn’t get a chance to meet them last March, or they really wanted to see and hear them again this year. So, we went all in on Rust Bros 2.0 as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations. The guys are a lot of fun, and you never know what they’re going to say or do. We’re excited to have them back again.”

MEGUIAR’S STAGE

LEADING CAR CARE PRODUCT SUPPLIER SPONSORS MEGUIAR’S STAGE AND OFFICIAL SHOW BAGS

Meguiar’s will have an increased presence at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors for the second year in a row. The longtime sponsor of the Motorama Show Bags returns as the presenting sponsor of the Meguiar’s Main Stage, in Hall 2, and will now showcase products alongside the vehicles in Hall 1.

With over 120 years of experience in surface care, Meguiar’s is more than just a familiar name at Motorama. The company is deeply rooted in car culture, with a wide range of products to support all detailing needs, whether you’re a pro or a novice.

“Meguiar’s, at its core, is undoubtedly about PASSION,” said Danielle Schriepe, Event Marketing Leader at Meguiar’s. “Passion for developing the best possible surface care products, including Auto, Marine and RV. Passion for ensuring the experience using those products delivers a ‘WOW’ – every time. And passion for building and fostering genuine relationships with enthusiasts around the globe.”

MEGUIAR’S STAGE A HIVE OF ACTIVITY

That passion will be on display all three days in Hall 2, where the Meguiar’s Main Stage will be a hive of activity, with celebrity Q&A sessions, guest speakers, product giveaways and award presentations, including the ‘Night of Champions’ and the Motorama ‘Class’ and ‘Special Awards’.

In addition to the Main Stage, Meguiar’s will greet fans in two different ways. The company returns as the official show bag sponsor, providing reusable bags with the show program and other materials; the bag features their unmistakable logo and is great for holding anything from groceries to your favourite car care products after the show.

Meguiar’s will also display products beside the vehicles in Hall 1, which is the first section that showgoers see once they walk through the main entrance.

The Ultimate Insane Shine Paint Glosser, Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner, Quik Interior Detailer, Ultimate Quik Detailer and an assortment of towels will sit alongside the top 28 vehicles at the show.

Those same products will dress the Meguiar’s Main Stage before being randomly given away to winners at the Special Awards on Sunday, March 9, when the Motorama Grand Champion will be revealed.

Schriepe is looking forward to seeing the hundreds of vehicles that will make an appearance at Motorama.

“At Meguiar’s, we are car enthusiasts to our core, so the answer has to be… seeing all of the vehicles on display!” said Schriepe. “Our goal is not only to provide products that give your vehicle a ‘show car shine’ but to also support Motorama and continue to be a part of the car community.”

When it comes to products that showgoers should know about, Schriepe highlights two new additions to the Meguiar’s line-up. The Ultimate Headlight Restoration Kit and All Surface Interior Cleaner make their Canadian debuts in 2025.

Meguiar’s Ultimate Headlight Restoration Kit removes oxidation, cloudiness and yellowing, while delivering a crystal-clear finish to restore clear plastic headlights. The premium headlight lens restoration kit includes everything you need to get professional results without needing a drill or power tools.

Meanwhile, Meguiar’s All Surface Interior Cleaner is a premium interior cleaner that effectively delivers deep cleaning to all vehicle interior surfaces. Remove dirt, dust, grime, and fingerprint oils from vinyl, leather, rubber, and plastics; remove stains from carpet and upholstery for a clean, refreshed, uniform look, restoring carpet, fabric, and upholstery to look like new.

HAGERTY AWARDS

HAGERTY RETURNS AS THE SPONSOR OF THE CLASS AND SPECIAL AWARDS AT MOTORAMA

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025, The Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors will bring together hundreds of unique vehicles all under one roof at Toronto’s International Centre. While this provides an opportunity for automotive enthusiasts to showcase their prized possessions, it also creates some competition, with dozens of awards up for grabs.

For the second year in a row, specialty vehicle insurance provider Hagerty is the presenting sponsor of the Class and Special Awards. The Class Awards will take place on Saturday, March 8, while the Special Awards will be handed out on Sunday, March 9, both on the Meguiar’s Main Stage, in Hall 2.

“Joining Motorama 2025 embodies our commitment to honouring automotive excellence and celebrating the enthusiasts who keep car culture thriving,” said Nicholas Keith, Director of Private Client Business Development at Hagerty Canada. “Recognizing standout vehicles and passionate owners aligns perfectly with our mission to preserve, celebrate and save driving.”

In addition to sponsoring the Motorama awards, Hagerty will have a booth at the show in Hall 1. Guests and enthusiasts are welcome to visit the Hagerty booth for a vehicle valuation experience and more. They can also expect promotional items and a chance to win a unique prize package. Showgoers can meet the Hagerty team and gain insight into the company’s products and services.

“We’re excited to connect with fellow enthusiasts, hear their stories, and see the incredible range of automobiles on display,” said Keith, discussing what he’s looking forward to about the show. “The Hagerty Class and Special Awards at Motorama highlight the dedication and passion that makes the automotive community so special, and being part of this

event is always a highlight for Hagerty.”

It’s been a busy year between shows for Hagerty, with recent initiatives including the expansion of Hagerty Marketplace, a platform for buying and selling collector vehicles. They’ve also developed partnerships to encourage rising generations to embrace automotive culture.

Hagerty goes beyond its role of insurance provider to create a community dedicated to celebrating and preserving the love of driving and automotive culture. VALVOLINE CANADIAN 10

AWARDS WILL HONOUR THE TEN CONTENDERS FOR THE MOTORAMA GRAND CHAMPION AWARD

Valvoline returns as presenting sponsor of the Canadian 10 at this year’s Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, where the company will also unveil a new product that’s coming to market.

The annual tradition will get underway as judges narrow down the hundreds of eligible vehicles to determine the top ten finalists for the Motorama Grand Champion Award. The Valvoline Canadian 10 will then be revealed on Saturday, March 8, when large teardrop banners will be placed beside the finalists’ vehicles.

The Saturday morning event will be streamed live on Motorama’s social media channels for the second straight year, with Fuel MediaLab producing the broadcast. Showgoers will then have more than a day to see the vehicles up-close and form their own opinions as to who will win the show’s biggest prize.

FIRST INTRODUCED IN 1866

Valvoline Global is a worldwide leader in automotive and industrial solutions, developing strong brand recognition and customer satisfaction since introducing the world’s first branded motor oil back in 1866. The company is powering the future of mobility, with innovative solutions for vehicles with electric, hybrid and internal combustion powertrains. Valvoline is thrilled to sponsor the Canadian 10 for the second year in a row.

“Valvoline has a long and storied legacy in motorsports and car culture,” said David Watts, Director of Retail Sales at Valvoline Canada. “We love how Motorama and the Canadian 10 provide an incredible opportunity to connect with passionate car owners, talented builders, and such a diverse group of car enthusiasts. It’s a celebration of all things automotive, and we’re proud to be a part of it.

“The cars that made the top ten last year were absolutely incredible. We can’t wait to see the amazing vehicles that will be showcased in 2025!”

In addition to their sponsorship of the Canadian 10, Valvoline will be unveiling its latest cutting-edge premium full synthetic Motor Oil – Restore & Protect – at this year’s show.

The first-of-its-kind innovation removes up to 100% of engine-killing deposits, with continuous use, restoring engines to run like factory clean, while protecting against future damage. This latest addition to their product family is a paradigm shift in motor oil performance, challenging traditional thinking about what a motor oil should do versus what a motor oil could do.

Restore & Protect, with its revolutionary technology and unparalleled benefits, marks another milestone in the legacy of Valvoline firsts that spans more than 150 years. Valvoline Restore & Protect

will be available at Canadian retailers starting this June.

Valvoline will have a booth in Hall 1 to showcase its products and interact with showgoers at Motorama.

The Motorama Grand Champion Award winner will be announced during the Hagerty Special Awards, taking place Sunday, March 9 on the Meguiar’s Main Stage in Hall 2. Kevin Mindel, alongside builder JF Launier/JF Kustoms, was last year’s Grand Champion, with a 1968 Mercury Cougar Fastback.

SHOW CARS & CAR CLUBS

HALL 1 TO FEATURE 28 INCREDIBLE MOSTLY ‘FIRST TIME SHOWN’ CARS AT 10TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW

Alarge array of car clubs and feature vehicles will once again be at the heart of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. Twelve clubs will be represented in the main show, while 28 vehicles will be on display in Hall 1, just inside the show entrance.

Among the clubs at this year’s show are the Oldies Car Club, Corvettes of Durham, Brampton Street Rods, Golden Horseshoe Mustang Association and Eliminators Car Club. Many clubs feature a diverse selection of vehicles, such as the Brampton Street Rods, who have everything from a ’37 Ford to a ’73 Plymouth.

From traditional clubs, with a strict rule book and their own dedicated garage space, to newer clubs, with a focus on cruise nights and the social aspect, the groups at Motorama 2025 include both annual fixtures and first-time participants.

REALLY GOOD VARIETY

“There’s a really good variety,” said Motorama Show Car Coordinator Gary Challice. “We’ve got some old established clubs; we’ve got the Road Runners Car Club, they’re our Featured Club this year, they started in 1956. You go from a club that started in 1956 to the newest club that we’ve got, the Odd Wheel Car Club, they’re just two years old.”

The clubs aren’t the only example of variety at Motorama, as Hall 1 will feature a selection of 28 ‘first time shown’ vehicles, that are Canadian-owned. These feature vehicles will each have a standalone 20x20 display and range from a 1926 Ford to cars from the 1970s.

“We have two cars from 1927, we have a ’33 Roadster, a ’32 Roadster, a ’32 Coupe, we have a number of killer trucks, we have a truck coming from New Brunswick, so there’s a real good variety,” said Challice. “A lot of the street and muscle cars, like the ‘Eleanor’ Mustangs and that kind of

stuff. Camaros, Firebirds, we’ve even got a ’64 Plymouth, we’ve got a 1947 cab-over Dodge truck that’s a car hauler.”

Challice says there’s a good mix between hot rods, muscle cars and trucks in Hall 1. Many of these vehicles will also be in the running for a spot in the Valvoline Canadian 10, the list of finalists that gets revealed on the Saturday morning, and the Motorama Grand Champion Award, which will be announced during the Hagerty Special Awards on the Meguiar’s Main Stage on Sunday, March 9.

Overall, it’s the quality of rides and the opportunity to see something new that stands out to Challice.

“Not only the front building, but the goal behind the Motorama show as a whole is first-time-shown vehicles,” said Challice. “You come to the show, you’re going to see a lot of stuff that you’ve never seen. The reason for that is a lot of people will build a car to drive – that’s what it’s all about – but they also want to show it for the very first time at Motorama.”

‘TWISTER’ MOVIE TRUCK

RESTORED TORNADO CHASING JEEP FROM THE 1996 MOVIE ‘TWISTER’ TO APPEAR AT MOTORAMA

Apiece of movie history will be on display at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, as a yellow Jeep from the 1996 blockbuster Twister, starring Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton, will make its international debut at the show.

The 1984 Jeep Honcho is one of four models made exactly the same for the movie, two of which were destroyed during filming. This truck was originally purchased in California, before a new owner took it back to Oklahoma.

At one point stolen and later recovered by the Oklahoma owner, the truck was ultimately sold to Tim Stegner.

Stegner owns Tim’s Body Worx, a body shop in Guthrie, OK, where the drive-in theatre scene was filmed. Having been in town during production and known locally as the Jeep guy, Stegner got the opportunity to combine his two passions and bring the truck back to life.

Stegner initially put the Twister Truck on the backburner, with an abundance of projects on his plate, before discovering the popularity of the movie during a 20th anniversary celebration at the ‘Twister The Movie’ Museum in Wakita, OK.

“I got to see some of it get filmed, that explains why I’m passionate about it, but I had no idea that people with no connection to it would still follow it,” said Stegner, who also noted the knowledge among the fanbase. “I can’t think of another kind of movie car that there’s probably this much data on and research done… it’s pretty easy to figure out if you’ve got a really good clone or not on this truck in particular.”

With a new Twisters movie in the works (released in 2024), the preservation and restoration of the Jeep Honcho started to really take off in 2023.

Stegner worked to preserve as much of the original truck as possible, including the chrome mirrors and bumpers, the seats, the vinyl on the door panels, the movie mounts used for cameras and the ‘movie mud’ Styrofoam that was sprayed in the wheel wells.

The truck bed was the biggest challenge when it came to the restora-

tion work, as design flaws allowed the bed to rust easily. Stegner bought a donor bed and cut it up to use only select pieces, since the movie mud helped preserve the original rear wheel wells.

No detail was overlooked; Stegner spent time examining scenes from the movie to compare various elements, including the blue stripes on the sides of the truck.

RESTORATION WAS A PAINSTAKING PROCESS

“We had to stencil out the side of it and basically document every single flaw that was on it,” said Stegner. “With the movie, I’d go and cross this one off, and cross that one off, and this one stays, so now we’ve got the door figured out, now it’s moving to the fender, so it was a pretty painstaking process.”

With the ability to mix paint in-house and the door jams preserving enough of the original paint in good condition, Stegner was able to match colours for the new paint job. The tailgate was left in its original form so that the new and original paint can be compared side-by-side.

The completed Twister Truck was revealed in April 2024 and toured the region during the summer, appearing at movie premieres, restaurants and the National Weather Center in Norman, OK. The truck was also reunited with Helen Hunt at a fan expo in Dallas, where the movie star signed the glove compartment.

Whether you’re a fan of weather, the movie Twister, or simply interested in seeing behind-the-scenes movie elements, the Twister Truck’s appearance will provide a unique opportunity here in Canada.

“From the movie mud to a stamped number on the bumper, those Hollywood elements and the detail that went into the restoration can be seen up-close and personal for the first time outside of the US,” said Motorama’s Bryce Turner. “Tim and Jessica Stegner have plenty of stories about the truck’s history and the project itself that they’ll be able to share with showgoers. We’re excited to have this screen-used vehicle on display at Motorama!”

The truck made famous in the 1996 movie Twister, along with one of the ‘Dorothy’ sensor machines, will be on display at the Toronto Motorama show. The restored 1984 Jeep Honcho was central to the movie’s plot, as it carried sensors that the storm chasers were trying to deploy into a tornado.

ROAD RUNNERS FEATURED CLUB

HAMILTON, ONTARIO CAR CLUB WILL SHOWCASE EIGHT MEMBER VEHICLES AT MOTORAMA

The Road Runners Car Club will be honoured as the Featured Club at this year’s Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. The group will showcase eight cars in its display, ranging from a 1934 Hudson Terraplane to a 1969 Ford Mustang ‘project car’ that is currently being restored.

The Hamilton, ON-area club has focused on classic customs for nearly seven decades and meets regularly at their own dedicated garage space. Founded in 1956 by a group of four young guys who didn’t even have a driver’s licence, the Road Runners have consistently provided members with a place to work on their prized possessions.

“One of the stipulations that we had very early on, for many, many years, was that you had to have a special interest car with at least two custom modifications,” said Road Runners Car Club vice president Paul Craig. “The club was all old street rods and customized, like ‘20s, ‘30s, ‘40s, very few of the ‘50s. As the membership got older, the age of the cars got newer as well…up to the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s and, as of quite recently, we had a couple of ‘90s cars in our shop.”

THE ROAD RUNNERS ARE A ‘WORKING’ CAR CLUB

Despite some change in the vehicle ages, history has remained a large part of the club’s claim to fame. The Road Runners were part of the Ontario Timing Association in the 1960s when the organization convinced the owners of the Kohler Airstrip to let them use the facility for drag racing; while unrelated to the track’s construction, it was the origin of racing on a property that ultimately became Toronto Motorsports Park.

As a working car club, the Road Runners’ current location features garage space for a number of active projects, along with a meeting room and a display of roughly 150 photos of all the cars that have gone through their shop.

“We’ve got about 35 members right now,” said Road Runners Car Club president George Muldoon. “We have two ’47 GMs being built in the club right now; we have a ’63 Ford Fairlane wagon, a ’79 Camaro, a ’63 Thunderbird convertible, a ‘35 Hupmobile, a ’34 Hudson Terraplane, a ’47 Buick, a ’72 Pontiac LeMans, a 205 Mustang convertible. Those are all in the shop being restored.”

The Road Runners host a big barbeque at their shop each year, inviting retired members and other car clubs to take part. They also hold an annual swap meet in Ancaster, ON on the last Sunday in April and take part in other events, including a charity fundraiser last year.

The Road Runners are looking forward to showcasing a variety of vehicles as part of their Featured Club role at Motorama 2025. The selection includes a 1969 Ford Mustang ‘project car’ that Muldoon is in the midst of restoring. The partially-completed build will

provide a unique opportunity for showgoers to see the amount of work that goes into a restoration project; they’ll also be able to ask Muldoon questions about the car.

Additional vehicles that the Road Runners will display are a 1966 Dodge Charger (owned by Craig), 1971 Pontiac LeMans Sport (Brian Yakimishyn), 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 (Graham Finley), 1940 Ford pick-up (Tom Harber), 1937 Pontiac (Hans Boks), 1928 Ford Roadster (Dave Baldassi), and 1934 Hudson Terraplane (John Tuck).

Interacting with fellow car enthusiasts is something that Craig is looking forward to for Motorama.

“I always have a good time at Motorama because, being a part of a car club, there’s a huge camaraderie with the other clubs,” said Craig. “And the Motorama people too; it’s nice to go some places and run into somebody who you haven’t seen for a few months and touch base, it’s a lot about the camaraderie.”

10TH AND 50TH ANNIVERSARIES

When ‘Dizzy’ Dean Murray launched the first Motion Custom Car Show in March 1975, he kicked off a beloved tradition that continues to thrive today. Over the years, the event has gone by several names—Motion, Performance World, MegaSpeed, and now Motorama— but the pre-March Break show at Toronto’s International Centre has remained a significant event for generations of automotive enthusiasts.

A master showman and promoter, ‘Dizzy’ was described as a “motorsport entrepreneur” in his 2008 obituary in the Toronto Star Wheels section. If you were into custom cars and hot rods, the Motion shows were the place to be!

This year, Motorama celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first Motion show, continuing the tradition of auto-enthusiast and racing events held annually at the International Centre each March. We are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the inaugural Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo.

In 2014, the group behind the all-racing Canadian Motorsports Expo (CME), also held at The International Centre, was approached by the venue to combine their event with the long-running custom car and hot rod show. This collaboration led to the inaugural Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo in March 2015.

On the custom car side, the event took a nostalgic turn when Gary

Challice joined as the Show Car Coordinator. He had been involved in the Performance World and MegaSpeed shows. To reassure exhibitors and car owners that the show would return to its roots, Challice brought in several past judges and worked closely with his ‘right-hand man,’ Bob Sumak, to curate an impressive lineup of 28 incredible cars—many of which were being shown for the first time. These vehicles are showcased in ‘twenty-by-twenty’ foot feature displays down the center of Hall 1, with exhibitors lining the walls. They’ve also worked with car clubs and feature car owners to pack the large Hall 2.

True to their motorsports origins, the new promoters ensured that racing had a strong presence at Motorama as well. Hall 1B has been dedicated to the Racing Zone, which features displays from race tracks, series, and racing vehicles, alongside vendors offering racing-related equipment and memorabilia.

To this day, Motorama continues to honor its legacy while embracing new opportunities, blending the best of custom car culture and motorsports for a one-of-a-kind event that car enthusiasts and racers look forward to each year.

As you tour the show today, be sure to visit the special Grand Champion feature in Hall 2. It showcases 10 past ‘Best in Show’ prize-winning vehicles, as well as memorabilia from the first Motion show in 1975.

TWO ‘BATMOBILE’ INSPIRED VEHICLES

FUGITIVE CUSTOM CARS

There will be a unique opportunity for Canadian comic book and superhero fans at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, as a pair of Batmobile-inspired vehicles will be on display in Hall 2.

A replica Batmobile, called ‘Bruce’s Tow Vehicle,’ will be at the show, towing a Batmobile-inspired gasser dragster, called ‘Bat Gas.’ The vehicles were built by Fugitive Custom Cars, out of Guelph, ON, for Ian MacIntosh in New Zealand. This will be a limited-time opportunity, as both cars are expected to be shipped down under before next year’s show.

‘Bat Gas’ came together unexpectedly, as it was originally being built as the Batmobile replica; however, the all-aluminum body wasn’t crafted to the builder’s desired quality. After sitting idle at the Fugitive shop, the idea came about to turn it into a gasser to be towed by the new replica.

Adopting a new outlook, we partnered with Vintage Tin to create an incredible all-aluminum body that kicked off the ‘Bruce’s Tow Vehicle’ project. Made to look like something Bruce Wayne would commission, the replica is in its final stages of completion and ready for its debut at Motorama. Having the two vehicles together will create a unique attraction.

“I like the idea of something that’s never been done,” said Roberts. “Everybody knows the Batmobile, everybody knows the Ghostbusters machine, the DeLorean, and other iconic movie cars. Most are copied to make them period-correct to the movie and I like to do something with a little bit of a twist,

GAS’ MACHINES

that’s what the ‘Bat Gas’ is all about.”

Roberts says ‘Bruce’s Tow Vehicle’ will be somewhat period-correct, being black with red stripes with a beacon on top but will also incorporate some of his street rod background, with full air-ride suspension, an LS 800-horsepower engine, and a Corvette drivetrain.

‘Bat Gas’ toured to various car shows and cruise nights last year, including Motorama, and will join ‘Bruce’s Tow Vehicle’ for select appearances before leaving the country. Roberts is looking forward to displaying the two vehicles at this Motorama 2025.

WD-40 PRESENTS STUDENTS’ DAY

CONESTOGA COLLEGE IS ALSO PARTICIPATING AS A STUDENTS’ DAY PARTNER

For 2025, WD-40 has increased its support of Motorama as the company becomes the presenting sponsor of Students’ Day, in partnership with Conestoga College.

Providing an educational and entertaining experience for all things automotive, Motorama will welcome dozens of schools and several thousand students on Friday, March 7 for the annual Students’ Day. With their leading global initiative, Training the Trades, the purpose of this day is important to WD-40.

“Each of our trading blocs around the world are committed to helping educate and support the next generation of tradespeople,” said Azadbir Rai, Brand & Digital Marketing Manager at WD-40 Company (Canada) Ltd. “After attending the show last year and seeing the turnout of young trade students, we knew we had to be involved. We’ve begun a three-year partnership with Conestoga College that will allow both our organizations to provide the best possible experience to students who attend the show.”

HELPING FUTURE TRADESPEOPLE

With more emphasis being placed on different chemicals and their uses in the workplace, Rai says WD-40 wants to be a frontrunner in helping future tradespeople learn about the importance of different products and how to use them safely in the workplace.

Suzanne Moyer, Dean of the School of Trades & Apprenticeship at Conestoga College, is also looking forward to Students’ Day.

“As a leader in skilled trades training, Conestoga is excited to partner with WD-40 for Motorama Students’ Day to empower the next generation to choose skilled trades as a viable career option as they learn what new technology, tools and products are available to help them do their jobs safely and efficiently,” said Moyer.

WD-40 and Conestoga College are planning some great activities for Students’ Day. They’ll also provide an engaging experience to all showgoers throughout the weekend, with special challenges and contests, featuring some amazing prizes, at the WD-40 booth.

Known for their traditional multi-use product, WD-40 has served as the go-to lubricant solution for homeowners and professionals for over 75 years. Their Specialist line of products has also grown over the years, catering to specific needs, such as penetrant, silicone, dry lube and degreasers.

WD-40 will be promoting two new products at the show. The WD-40 Precision Pen features the original WD-40 formula in a handy pocket-sized pen applicator. It helps you get the right amount of product, exactly where you need it, without worrying about messy overspray. It’s a must-have for the house, car and toolboxes.

WD-40 Specialist Electric Contact Cleaner has also made its long-awaited debut in Canada. Its powerful, fast-drying formula makes it a go-to for cleaning sensitive electric components on circuit boards, drones, 3D printers, electric motors and other electronic devices. It also helps remove condensation from spark plugs and electrical assemblies to protect from component damage.

Rai says the team at WD-40 is looking forward to meeting Chip Foose and hearing about a project from 2013, where Foose worked closely with the company’s US team and young tradespeople to create a custom Ford F-150 that was auctioned off at SEMA. The team is also looking forward to chatting with showgoers.

“We’re excited to hear all of the amazing memories that people share using WD-40,” said Rai. “Every year we hear unique stories of how our products have helped with their custom build or how families and friends have bonded using our products, and that always makes our brand that much more meaningful.”

ABOUT WD-40: In 1953, in a small lab in San Diego, California, the fledgling Rocket Chemical Company and its staff of three set out to create a line of rust-prevention solvents and degreasers for use in the aerospace industry. It took them 40 attempts to get their water displacing formula to work, but on the 40th attempt, they got it right in a big way. WD-40 was born. WD-40 stands for Water Displacement, 40th formula. That’s the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed the product. A few years later, Rocket Chemical Company founder and president Norm Larsen experimented with putting WD-40 into aerosol cans, reasoning consumers might also find a use for the product in their home workshops and garages. PAST GRAND CHAMPIONS

TEN FORMER GRAND CHAMPION CARS WILL BE PART OF A SPECIAL HALL 2 DISPLAY

The 10th anniversary of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors will feature a blast from the past through a trio of special displays.

The Past Champions Display will include 10 previous Grand Champion Award-winning vehicles in a single walk-around booth, accompanied by their winning trophy and sign, if available. These 10 vehicles not only span previous editions of Motorama, but are also from the past iterations of the March break show, including Motion, Performance World and MegaSpeed.

“I think what the display will show is ‘what did it take back in the ‘80s and ‘90s to win a Grand Champion Award?’” said Motorama Show Car Coordinator Gary Challice. “You can walk down to the other end and look at last year’s Grand Champion and you can see how quality, workmanship, etc., has progressed and how times have changed.

“Today, you can order everything you need and use your credit card,” he continued. “Back in the earlier days, you couldn’t do that, so you’ll be able to see the evolution of how the quality of cars has changed over the last 50 years.”

STRAIGHT AXLE ‘GASSER’ DISPLAY

The Past Champions Display will be located in Hall 2, where there’s another special collection to see. The Straight Axle Madness ‘Gasser’ display is a selection of 10 drag racing cars that follow a distinct style.

“The gassers are straight-axle cars; what that means is that the frontend is raised, so it looks like the bumper is dragging the pavement, while the front-end is up in the air,” said Challice. “The reason for that was to transfer the weight to the big tires in the back. These are just straight quarter-mile cars, they were very popular in the ‘50s and ‘60s.”

The Straight Axle Madness ‘Gasser’ display is sponsored by Lowdown Hot Rods, which presented last year’s Evolution of the Front-Engine Dragster. Celebrating 25 years of business, Lowdown Hot Rods is a hot rod, race car, truck and muscle car builder located in Cambridge, ON.

Another special drag racing car on display will be a 1928 Ford that took part in Hot Rod Drag Week in 2024. The annual US event sees cars compete on five consecutive days, at five different tracks, to decide the winner. The same cars must be fully-licensed for the road and must

also tow the equipment trailer from one track to another. These special displays are just part of the overall attraction of Motorama.

“You go from a Volkswagen to a 1200-horsepower dragster to a motorhome,” said Challice. “There’s everything; if you want to see it, it’s all there. And that doesn’t include Mayhem… in the Backroom or Spring Fever, which are two other different elements of the show.”

(Clockwise from top right) 2020 Grand Champion: 1959 Corvette (Travis & Viv Agresti), 2018: 1956 Chevrolet Pickup (Andrew Legacy), 2023: 1965 Mustang (Rejean Desjardins) and 2016 Grand Champ: 1948 Anglia (David Dadd).

GARY CHALLICE

VETERAN SHOWMAN CAUGHT THE CAR BUG AT A 1959 EVENT AT THE FORT YORK ARMOURY

Gary Challice is gearing up for a milestone event— the 10th anniversary of the Motorama Car Show. As the Show Car Coordinator, he’s been involved in organizing the event since its inception. He and his righthand man Bob Sumak personally review every vehicle entered in the show. Heading into this year’s show, the excitement is palpable.

Challice is especially proud of the amazing lineup of vehicles coming to this year’s show. Motorama has grown into a staple in the automotive community, drawing car owners and enthusiasts from Ontario, Canada and the US.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years already,” Challice says, reflecting on the journey. The upcoming show at the International Centre will not only celebrate Motorama’s anniversary but also honor the history of automotive exhibitions, including the history of the show going back to 1975 with ‘Dizzy’ Dean Murray’s Motion show, followed by Performance World, Megaspeed and now Motorama.

And like every Motorama show, Challice is delivering special features that people have never seen before. This year, to honour the show’s history, there is a large feature in Hall 2 with almost a dozen vehicles that have won the Grand Champion Award over the years. The room will also have a special drag racing display featuring Straight Axle ‘Gasser’ cars. And Hall 3 will have a large section loaded with Lowrider cars that offers a nod to the diverse styles of the car culture.

1959 SHOW LEFT A LASTING IMPRESSION

Gary’s involvement with car shows dates back to the first indoor event he attended, in 1959, at Toronto’s Fort York Armoury. That experience left a lasting impression, fuelling his lifelong passion for cars. Over the years, he has built relationships with builders, car clubs and celebrities –each contributing to his extensive network in the car show world.

One of the highlights of Gary’s career was meeting George Barris, the legendary custom car designer, who left a profound impact on him. “George was one of the best promoters I’ve ever met,” Gary shares. “He was incredibly accommodating, spending hours talking to young fans long after the show had ended. That’s the kind of person he was.” Gary’s connections to other renowned figures in the car world, such as Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and renowned builder Troy Ladd, have only strengthened the show’s prestige.

Over the years, Gary has noticed a shift in the quality of Canadian cars. “The workmanship is incredible,” he says, proud of the level of talent and craftsmanship coming out of Canada. At this year’s show, nearly 30 cars will make their debut in the front building, showcasing the exceptional skill of Canadian builders. “We can compete with the best of them,” Gary adds.

The Motorama show isn’t just about showcasing cars – it’s also about bringing people together. “It’s the perfect time of year,” Gary says, noting that the event comes after a long winter, when car enthusiasts are eager to reconnect with old friends and kick off the season. The timing

has always been ideal, and it’s part of what makes the show feel like a celebration of both the cars and the community.

Gary’s role involves more than just overseeing the event; it’s about making sure every detail is perfect. He and Bob Sumak personally check in on every car being built for the show. “Sometimes, you show up at a shop and there’s just a pile of parts. You never know what you’re going to get until the final reveal,” he laughs. But that’s part of the thrill seeing these incredible machines come together and knowing the hard work behind them.

As the show has grown, so has Gary’s commitment to bringing something fresh each year. “You’ve got to keep it interesting,” he says. This year, the show will feature panels with past Grand Champions, giving attendees the opportunity to compare the evolution of car building over the years.

Gary’s passion is evident in every aspect of the show, from the new features to the attention to detail. His connection to the car world is deep, and though he’s preparing to take a step back from the daily grind of the event, he knows he will always be involved in some capacity. “I’ll never walk away completely,” he says with a smile. “But it’s time to let the next generation take the reins and bring in fresh ideas.”

Motorama has become a legacy, thanks in large part to Challice’s dedication and vision. With cars from across Canada and beyond, the show promises to be bigger and better than ever. For anyone passionate about cars, it’s the event of the year – an opportunity to see some of the finest vehicles in the world, meet industry legends and connect with a community that shares the same love for all things automotive.

“You’ve got to come down to the International Centre on March 7th, 8th, and 9th,” Gary says. “Look me up, and we’ll swap stories. It’s going to be a great show.”

FEATURED BUILDER: HARSE AUTOCRAFT

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO-BASED BUILDER HAS COME A LONG WAY IN A RELATIVELY SHORT TIME

Motorama is proud to welcome Harse Autocraft as the Featured Builder at this year’s show. Based in Burlington, ON and founded in 2014, Harse Autocraft is dedicated to quality, taking pride in every vehicle that goes through their shop. Considering themselves as not only auto body technicians, but also artists, the team has served vehicle owners from both locally and afar.

“I opened a body shop with a mission to redefine the industry by bringing the craft back, focusing on quality and details that last,” said Andrew Harsevoort, owner of Harse Autocraft. “That led to working with clients who understood the value of craftsmanship and creativity, which gave us the opportunity to show off what we could do.”

Harsevoort says that it’s unbelievable to think of where Harse Autocraft has come in the last decade, since first being recognized with a winning plaque at Motorama. Reflecting on his many projects, there’s a 1947 Buick Restomod that stands out as one of his most notable builds, with the vehicle achieving great success at a Barrett-Jackson auto auction.

Another area of pride is being involved in producing Ampia, a line of carbon-fiber wide-bodied Alfa Romeos. While he doesn’t have any finished work to showcase, Harsevoort does plan to bring one of the carbon-fiber Alfa Romeo shells to his booth, in Hall 2.

Harsevoort and members of the Harse Autocraft team will be on-hand throughout the weekend, where they also plan to hand out posters at the

booth. The community aspect is something that he’s looking forward to about the show.

“It can be a lonely adventure building custom vehicles,” said Harsevoort. “I’m looking forward to spending time with others in this industry, encouraging and supporting one another.”

HOUSE OF KOLOR ‘BEST PAINT’ AWARDS

PREMIUM AUTOMOTIVE PAINT BRAND WILL ALSO HAVE A BOOTH IN HALL 2

Motorama’s show organizers are pleased to welcome House of Kolor as sponsor of the Best Paint Awards. The premium automotive paint brand will also have a creative presence through their booth at this year’s show.

Founded by Jon Kosmoski in 1956, House of Kolor is renowned for its bold colours, unmatched durability and unparalleled finishes. The brand has set the gold standard for custom paintwork, with products designed specifically for the artistic vision of car enthusiasts and professionals.

As the new presenting sponsor of the Best Paint Awards, House of Kolor will help Motorama recognize the most outstanding paint jobs from the hundreds of vehicles on display at the show. The category is part of the Hagerty Special Awards, which will be handed out on Sunday, March 9 on the Meguiar’s Main Stage in Hall 2.

“Sponsoring the Best Paint Awards at Motorama aligns with our mission to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship and innovation in the automotive world,” said Jerry Boisvert, House of Kolor’s Canadian manager. “It’s an opportunity to support and recognize the skilled artists and builders who bring their visions to life, showcasing the transformative power of paint.”

Boisvert is excited to see the incredible projects on display and connect with members of the automotive community at Motorama.

“Motorama is a platform where passion meets creativity, and the awards highlight the best of the best,” said Boisvert. “Seeing how people push boundaries with paint inspires us to continue developing products that empower their artistry.”

The House of Kolor booth will be a prime example of that creativity. Showgoers will see a stunning display of painted panels at the booth, while local artists will create masterpieces on-the-spot, showcasing the depth and versatility of the company’s products.

House of Kolor will be highlighting their cornerstone line of Kandy colours, which deliver a rich and translucent effect, along with their signature Shimrin2 basecoats and high-performance clearcoats, which offer UV protection. There’s also Kameleon basecoats, which consist of new colour-shifting colours.

Boisvert says it’s important to consider surface preparation and choosing the right system when working on a new paint job for your vehicle. He says that it’s essential to pick colours and finishes that align with your style, while ensuring durability and longevity. Boisvert will be on-hand at the House of Kolor booth to answer questions throughout the weekend.

TRUCK-O-RAMA

WIDE ASSORTMENT OF TRUCKS ON DISPLAY

There’s much more than ‘just’ cars at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. This fact is evidenced, once again, in the fifth annual edition of the Truck-O-Rama special section of the show, which showcases a large assortment of ‘decked-out’ trucks, in Hall 2.

The display will feature a good assortment of stock, lifted, slammed, special show trucks and daily driver trucks.

As well, Calz Kustom, from Huntsville, ON, will bring a selection of trucks and vehicles, several of which were in the spotlight at the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Owner Calvin Chapleau is showing his black 1991 Dodge W250 powered by a 1,200 horsepower V12 Cummins diesel motor. The truck matches Chapleau’s 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo, which will appear with the Dodge. Another Calz Kustom vehicle coming to Motorama is Iggy Mazza’s white ‘marble’ 2021 Ford F350 Truck. Fully deleted and tuned, the vehicle has a 12” fully powdered long arm Stryker lift, custom king coil-overs and shocks and 38” wheels.

Another must see truck is Jagraj Grewal’s Candy Red 2020 Jeep Gladiator with its full custom front and rear suspension kit and air bags, dually axle conversion, 24” Dropstars wheels and many more goodies.

Brett Noble’s lifted SEMA-style 2002 Dodge Ram is yet another heavily modified truck that you won’t see on the street but will be part of

JUNIOR JUDGES

JOSH DUBY AND TYLER HENRY

Automotive enthusiasts agree that the future of the hobby depends on getting the next generation interested and engaged. To that end, Motorama’s Junior Judges program is getting younger members of the community who are already demonstrating an affinity for cars to play a role in the car show experience.

At Motorama 2025, Josh Duby and Tyler Henry will be integrated into the judging team to gain valuable experience.

JOSH DUBY

Josh Duby has been in the autobody industry for eight years and is currently completing his final year autobody apprentice at Mohawk College. Duby says he’s always had a natural drive to work with his hands and create things without instructions, following his imagination.

Introduced to the world of classic cars by his father, as a youngster, Duby and his dad restored a worn-out Ford pickup together. He said, “that project sparked a passion in me that has only grown over the years.”

Since entering the trade, Duby has expanded his skills working on unique, one-of-a-kind projects. He feels he’s fortunate to work at a shop that allows him to engage in customization work, ranging from a 1940s Rolls-Royce to custom race bikes and Semi trucks.

While Truck-O-Rama is a relatively new feature at the show, the rise in popularity for these vehicles is something that stands out to Motorama’s Mike Galipeau.

“There’s a bit of a crossover between the tuner market and the truck market,” said Galipeau. “You have lowriders, lifted trucks, off-road trucks, racing vehicles, Overland… I think trucks are a huge growth area, both highway trucks and your regular daily drivers.”

TYLER HENRY

The second Junior Judge participating at this year’s Motorama show is Tyler Henry, who was part of the AutoBody Level 2 program at Mohawk College.

Like Duby, Henry loves his job and the industry he’s working in and he’s looking forward to being at Motorama and seeing the cars, trucks and other four-wheel vehicles that will be on display at the show.

Henry is currently working on a few of his own projects, in addition to his full-time job at a family-owned collision shop in Woodstock, Ontario.

“The judging team is excited to have Josh and Tyler joining the judging team as Junior Judges at Motorama,” said Show Car Coordinator Gary Challice. “New blood is important and this is an excellent way to get younger members of the community involved.”

ZEHR INSURANCE MAYHEM ROOM

NEW HAMBURG, ONTARIO-BASED COMPANY HAS SPONSORED THE MAYHEM ROOM EVERY YEAR

Zehr Insurance continues its streak of sponsoring every edition of Mayhem… in the Backroom, renewing its role for the sixth consecutive show at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors.

Mayhem… in the Backroom presented by Zehr Insurance is home to all things vintage, with vehicles from the 1930s to 1970s and special displays, along with tattoo artists, pinstripers and photographers. Located in Hall 3, it’s also home to the annual Miss Motorama Pinup Pageant, on Saturday, March 8.

Zehr Insurance is a full-service and specialty insurance brokerage with a reputation built on trust, reliability and personalized service. Proudly serving Ontario since 1954, and offering specialized vintage car insurance since 1967, Zehr’s mission is to provide peace of mind, through the right insurance solutions, while going the extra mile for customers.

As experts in the vintage space, Zehr’s policies cater to the needs of collectors and enthusiasts, covering everything from restoration costs to agreed-upon value, without penalizing custom car owners. The company’s personal connection to this community is what makes them stand out from the competition.

WE UNDERSTAND THE PASSION...

“As collector car owners and enthusiasts, ourselves, we understand the passion and care that go into these vehicles,” said Corey Finkelstein, manager of Vintage C.A.R.S. at Zehr Insurance. “It’s not just about protecting your ride — it’s about understanding what makes it unique. A vintage car is more than metal and paint. It’s the history, craftsmanship and a labour of love. At Zehr Insurance, we know that which is why we protect it like it’s our own.”

Finkelstein says that Zehr’s sponsorship of the Mayhem Room is about more than just brand visibility, as it allows them to be part of something that embodies their core principles. He says that they’re

proud to back an incredible gathering of talent and enthusiasts, where creativity and automotive culture collide.

“It’s the energy of the crowd and the passion of the builders that excite me most,” said Finkelstein. “The Mayhem Room is such a unique space — it’s raw, authentic and showcases some of the most jaw-dropping work in the industry. Seeing the creativity and skill first-hand, not to mention meeting the people who pour their hearts into these projects, never gets old.”

Zehr Insurance will have two booths at this year’s show, one in the Mayhem Room and the other in Hall 1, known as ‘The Grand Hall,’ which is right inside the main entrance. Representatives from Zehr will be onhand to learn about owners’ rides and chat about all things insurance.

There will also be a giveaway, where one lucky attendee will receive a custom-pinstriped retro fridge.

Showgoers are encouraged to stop by one of the Zehr booths to enter and connect with fellow enthusiasts, who share a passion for cars, culture and community. To learn more about Zehr Insurance, please visit www.ZehrInsurance.com.

MAYHEM... IN THE BACKROOM

POPULAR VINTAGE ROOM CELEBRATES VEHICLES AND LIFESTYLES FROM A PAST ERA

The sixth edition of Mayhem… in the Backroom presented by Zehr Insurance will feature a new take on the vintage-inspired lifestyle room, as a special ‘Lowrider’ section shares the space with the established vehicles, art and fashion in Hall 3. Combining the variety of hot rods and custom cars from the 1930s to the 1980s – and adding in the Lowriders – the Mayhem Room will boast more than 50 unique machines.

There will be a special display from Mayhem presenting sponsor Zehr Insurance, near the entrance to the Mayhem Room, featuring a pair of vintage campers. Representatives from Zehr Insurance will be on-hand to talk about their specialty insurance program geared towards collector cars. They’ll also be giving away a custom-pinstriped retro fridge at the show.

Similar to past years, the Mayhem Room will include much more than just cool rides. Pinstripers, photographers and traditional tattoo artists will be on-hand, along with PinUp clothing retailer Suzie’s Bombshell Boutique.

Suzie Major returns as host of the popular Miss Motorama Pinup Pageant, showcasing the vintage Pinup style. The pageant takes place on the Mayhem Room stage on Saturday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m.

ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCE

The variety of activities and lifestyle focus in the Mayhem Room provides a one-of-a-kind experience for showgoers, making it a show-within-a-show.

“There’s a different vibe to the Mayhem Room, it’s something that’s quite unique,” said Mayhem Room Manager Brandon Roberts. “It’s more than just the vehicles; it’s about the culture and creativity of the custom car scene. It’s a place to show off your own style and take in the many different ways people put their stamps on the automotive community.”

While there’s camaraderie and respect among

vehicle owners in the Mayhem Room, there will still be some friendly competition. The room has its own category of awards presented during the Motorama Special Awards presentation, being held on Sunday, March 9 on the Meguiar’s Main Stage, in Hall 2.

And as mentioned, a new feature called ‘Lowrider Lane’ will share space with Mayhem in Hall 3 at this year’s show. The area will include 25-plus Lowriders from the 1940s to 1980s, with a variety of models of both ‘bombs’ and ‘hoppers.’ Popular among the Mexican American community in California, Lowriders are vehicles that are lowered very close to the ground and typically have hydraulics that can raise either end of the automobile. They also have unique and elaborate paint jobs.

Last year’s Featured Club, the Toronto chapter of the Oldies Car Club, will be one of two groups taking part in the Mayhem Room Lowrider display. The group focuses on classic lowriders, or ‘bombs,’ largely from between 1935 and 1960. The Toronto chapter of Rollerz Only is also taking part in Lowrider Lane.

“We always look to showcase new content and this year’s Mayhem Room is no exception,” continued Brandon Roberts. “Motorama has displayed Lowriders before, but we’ve never had so many in a single space. We’re excited to show off these unique rides; this is something we don’t see very often – especially in these numbers – and I think showgoers will be entertained and interested to see them.”

MISS MOTORAMA PAGEANT

POPULAR ZEHR MAYHEM ROOM FEATURE SET FOR SATURDAY, MARCH 8

Vintage style and classic cars collide for the sixth time, as the popular Miss Motorama Pinup Pageant returns to Mayhem… in the Backroom presented by Zehr Insurance. The pageant will take place Saturday, March 8 at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors.

Often classy with a touch of sass, the Pin-Up look features clothing in the silhouettes of the ‘40s and ‘50s, with a modern twist. It can include someone’s personal stamp, with many creating their own hair accessories and jewellery to compliment the look. The pageant often includes a wide variety of contestants.

A FUN RANGE OF GALS

“We get a fun range of gals,” said pageant host Suzie Major, the owner of Suzie’s Bombshell Boutique, in Port Dover, ON. “Some are just discovering Pin-Up culture and vintage style, whereas others make that part of their everyday life and wardrobe. Some gals are in it because they’ve been enjoying the car scene for years and love seeing the feminine element showcased.”

Judging criteria for the pageant includes a range of categories, such as hair and make-up, originality and accuracy of clothing and a contestant’s poise and personality. Applicants are encouraged to populate the bio section with interesting information about themselves, that will help them stand out.

Major creates a personally tailored question for each contestant, designed to help them tell the audience what makes them unique. The question is sent to contestants at least a week before the pageant, so there are no surprises, and they can focus on having maximum fun while on stage.

The camaraderie is something that stands out to Major; she encourages contestants to arrive early so that they feel composed and have more time to enjoy hanging out in the Pin-Up Lounge.

“The Pageant has grown in popularity each year, bringing in new contestants and pageant regulars alike,” said Major. “I enjoy seeing the sense of community that an event like this creates – the friendships that are formed. Many of these gals will go on to participate in other pageants together during the summer season and this one always feels like a great way to kick that off!”

The pageant is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the Mayhem Room stage, in Hall 3. Suzie says there will be more prizes, more crowns, more sashes and more fun at this year’s show!

The Miss Motorama Pinup Pageant is just part of the spectacle of the Zehr Insurance Mayhem Room, a vintage-inspired lifestyle space featuring cars, art and fashion.

Suzie’s Bombshell Boutique will be among the vendors and booths setup throughout the weekend; this year’s booth will include items from her bespoke collection, along with numerous other brands. Launched in 2024, Suzie Bombshell Clothing features her own designs of vintage-inspired bathing suits, skirts, tops, and other Pin-Up essentials.

FAST EDDIE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

EVENT CELEBRATES 2024 ROAD RACING, DRAG RACING AND SHORT TRACK CHAMPIONS

The 12th annual Fast Eddie Speedwear Night of Champions will take centre stage during the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. One of the largest gatherings of current motorsports champions at a single place and time, the popular tradition will see 2024 track and touring series champions honoured on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

More than 150 champions are expected to participate in the Fast Eddie Speedwear Night of Champions, which kicks off with the Road Racing Night of Champions at 3 p.m., followed by the Drag Racing Night of Champions at 4:30 p.m. and the Short Track Night of Champions at 6:15 p.m. on the Meguiar’s Main Stage. The ceremonies will be streamed live on Motorama’s social media pages.

Fast Eddie returns as the title sponsor of the event, where the apparel company will be on-stage throughout the awards presentations, alongside Motorama representatives. Fast Eddie Speedwear president Tony Paton helped present the awards at the 2024 Night of Champions, alongside celebrity guests Constance Nunes, Farmtruck & Azn and Elvis Stojko.

“... THE BEST PART IS THE RECEPTION FROM THE CROWD...”

“Probably the best part of the night is seeing the reception from the crowd to those drivers and getting to shake their hands and hear a little bit about their own stories and their journeys to get to that podium,” said Paton. “David, Greg and the team… they do a great job of bringing some of the celebs in from the weekend and have them be a part of it, too. We really enjoyed that last year.”

Champions who registered prior to the January 31, 2025 deadline received two one-day passes to Motorama, a customized Fast Eddie Night of Champions plaque, a commemorative Fast Eddie Speedwear t-shirt and a goodie bag. The t-shirt is uniquely designed each year and includes a collage of various forms of motorsport.

“That’s one of the fun things and challenging things, trying to represent the different forms of motorsports all in one shirt and giving everybody equal billing,” said Paton. “It’s cool seeing some of these drivers who wouldn’t normally be wearing a shirt that has a dragster on it because they’re a road racer, or vice versa… we always look forward

to the challenge of coming up with something that’s unique and something that people will actually wear.”

Fast Eddie will also have a significant presence through its large booth in Hall 2. The company has been coming to Motorama every year, dating back nearly three decades when including the previous custom car show that was held in early March. With winter in its final stages and the Canadian racing season just around the corner, the company considers it a perfect time to showcase what they have to offer.

Fast Eddie caters to a wide array of needs, from custom projects to items that showgoers can walk away with. Examples include gloves, fire suits and helmets for racers; uniforms and swag for tracks; promotional items and souvenirs for motorsports supporters; and hoodies, hats and t-shirts, by Fast Eddie Speedwear, for racing enthusiasts and fans of combustion culture.

“It’s pretty hard for anybody who goes to the show to walk by our booth and not have a reason to stop by because we’re kind of a onestop-shop,” said Paton, who also noted Fast Eddie’s ties to the racing industry. “(With Fast Eddie) you’re not just dealing with somebody in the clothing industry, you’re dealing with racers who are there on the weekends and understand what it takes to be successful and look good and be comfortable doing it.”

The latest advancements in safety and comfort can also be found at the Fast Eddie booth, including new helmet styles and HANS devices that were featured at the recent PRI Show.

ABOUT FAST EDDIE SPEEDWEAR: Fast Eddie Speedwear is a collective of people who believe in the “combustion culture” and embrace this passion by manufacturing the highest quality garments in the Canadian motorsports landscape. Fast Eddie is driven by racers for racers and is proudly 100% Canadian owned and operate and still personally approve each-and-every piece that we proudly make… let’s just say that it’s a long process, but most importantly, it’s a pure passion. GULF RACE FUELS RACING ZONE

THE COMPANY WILL ALSO ANNOUNCE A MAJOR NEW INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIP AT THE SHOW

Following a successful 2024 show debut as primary sponsor of the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance, Gulf Race Fuels returns to the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors with a significant announcement ready to be revealed.

Gulf Race Fuels will announce a great partnership in the Canadian racing industry on Friday, March 7 at their Hall 2 booth. Gulf’s Jeff LaRose says they’re thrilled to be back at Motorama and that showgoers should stop by on opening day to see what the company has in store. He says they’ve constantly been advancing relationships in Canadian racing and that this announcement will not disappoint.

Located in Hall 1B, the Racing Zone is home to all things racing, with cars, drivers, series, tracks, parts suppliers / manufacturers and collectible vendors occupying the space. The Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone will also host a dedicated stage that will present live interviews and podcasts, as well as the Racers’ Corral that will feature a wide variety of racing vehicles representing the full spectrum of Canadian motorsports.

This is the second year of Gulf Race Fuels’ primary sponsorship of the Motorama Racing Zone, a role that created an immediate impact for the company. LaRose says that it was a wonderful experience in 2024.

“It develops a lot more friendships, a lot more business opportunities,” said LaRose. “It just brought way more attention to the product line and has probably been one of the things that has helped us bring the next level of racing to the game. What we’re unveiling this year is probably a result of our visibility and the show’s support from last year.”

Gulf Race Fuels will also be releasing a new fuel blend at this year’s Motorama. LaRose is particularly proud of the high quality and consistency of the selection of fuels they produce, noting that it’s these things that separate Gulf Race Fuels from the competition, allowing them to cater to a wide variety of needs.

“We’re a focused, high-quality fuel company. And we’re bringing more products to the retail space every year,” said LaRose. “We have a product that will support literally every racing customer and/or series that is out there. With our 12 different fuel offerings, I think there’s very, very little in Canada that we can’t cover.”

The iconic branding is another element that makes Gulf Race Fuels stand out. LaRose says that the people who build, blend and create the formulations for Formula 1 are the same people who create the formulations for customers in Canada.

“Whether you are putting our small engine fuel in your chainsaw, or whether you are running our Max 116 in your drag car, you’re coming down the pipe from Formula 1 engineering,” said LaRose. “We’ve got that high-end engineering in our fuel quality blending… you get the same level of commitment, quality and engineering that F1 gets.”

ABOUT GULF RACE FUELS: With a vision to become the preferred supplier for multiple motorsport and performance disciplines across all levels of competition, Gulf Race Fuels combines the unrivaled history and innovative market-firsts that the Gulf brand is known for with in-depth market knowledge and expertise. This unique combination allows Gulf Race Fuels to provide partners with the best possible fuel solutions, catering to a variety of setups and ensuring peak performance on the track. NASCAR CANADA SERIES

CANADA’S NATIONAL STOCK CAR CHAMPIONSHIP TO HAVE A HIGH PROFILE AT MOTORAMA

The NASCAR Canada Series (NCaS) returns to the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, with driver appearances, special announcements and schedule promotion taking place at their booth.

The country’s top level of stock car racing will greet fans in the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance, in Hall 1B. The NCaS booth will feature a car from the Ed Hakonson Racing stable, along with information displays and series drivers stopping by throughout the weekend. Series representatives will be on-hand to talk about the schedule and what’s new for 2025.

The 12-race calendar includes the NCaS debut at Calabogie Motorsports Park, a road course in Eastern Ontario and the return of Sunset Speedway. There will be races across the country, from Wetaskiwin, AB to Antigonish, NS, including five events in Ontario.

“Sunset is always an entertaining short track. And for Calabogie, people are going to have the opportunity to discover that venue and discover that area, too, which is just a little bit north of Ottawa,” said NASCAR Canada general manager Alan Labrosse. “We’re bringing in those two venues in Ontario, plus there’s Delaware and CTMP.”

Labrosse says the schedule is more travel-friendly for teams this season, while being more balanced from month to month.

Another change for 2025 is the television rights, with REV TV acquiring the English-language live and delayed broadcasts and TVA Sports becoming the French-language broadcaster. TSN will continue to air races on delay. The live broadcasts include the prestigious Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières on TVA Sports.

NASCAR has been counting down the days to Motorama, as they have special announcements lined up for the show. While details are still under wraps, showgoers are encouraged to watch for the news being released during the weekend.

Labrosse is looking forward to Motorama as a chance to interact with fellow motorsports enthusiasts in Canada’s largest market.

“It’s always a pleasure to connect with people,” said Labrosse. “This show gives us a great platform to introduce the sport to new fans, while catching up with our loyal supporters. It’s a special chance to engage with everyone outside of the racetrack.”

The 2025 season is scheduled to begin on May 18 at CTMP. For more information about the NASCAR Canada Series, be sure to visit their booth in the Hall 1B Racing Zone or visit NASCAR.ca.

ABOUT NASCAR CANADA: The NASCAR Canada Series is the premier motorsports league in Canada, featuring stock car drivers and teams from across Canada. Between May and September, the series visits a variety of oval and road course tracks from Alberta in the west to Nova Scotia in the east. In 2025 the schedule will consist of 12 races taking place in five Canadian provinces. For more information, visit NASCAR.ca.

CANADA HEADS UP

ONTARIO’S PREMIER HEADS-UP SHOOTOUT RACING ASSOCIATION SET FOR BUSY 2025

Apopular and prominent fixture at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, Canada Heads Up will once again have a large drag racing display at the show.

The Canada Heads Up (CHU) booth and surrounding displays will feature a large assortment of drag racing cars and bikes from the many classes that race in the series, ranging from the quickest classes through CHU’s Junior Dragster program.

Vehicles featured at this year’s show include an orange 1969 Chevy Camaro (driver Mauro Caringi), a copper 1990 Ford Mustang (Cole Ferri), an orange 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa (Shannon Poulter), a white 2022 BMW S1000RR (Duncan Guimond), a black 2012 Mike Bos JR Dragster (Carter Daniels) and a yellow 1963 Chevy Corvette (Mike Valvasori).

Series directors, administrators and some officials will be on-hand throughout the weekend in the booth, located in the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance, in Hall 1B.

CHU promoter and driver Ian Hill says that he’s most looking forward to the Saturday, March 8 schedule, which is a busy day for the series at Motorama. CHU holds a driver’s meeting on the Saturday afternoon, prior to the Fast Eddie Drag Racing Night of Champions, held on the Meguiar’s Main Stage.

CASC-OR

Following the celebration of drag racing titlists, including CHU class champions, the series will hold their annual networking event in their booth, which typically sees more than a hundred people in attendance, including many of the series’ drivers and teams.

This annual tradition is a win-win, providing a large drag racing presence at Motorama, while helping CHU get geared up for the coming season.

“It’s huge for us, it really does kick off the season for us as far as promotion goes,” said Hill. “We have many new teams signed up and we look forward to that the most! So many teams were knocking on the door of record-setting runs at our last two events of 2024, so we’re looking forward to seeing where this leads us for 2025.”

CHU has a six-weekend schedule lined up for 2025, with all events taking place at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, ON. There are 17 classes of cars and bikes slated for action. For more information about CHU, visit www.OntarioGrudgeWars.com.

DISPLAY TO FEATURE INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS AND A 2025 SEASON PREVIEW

Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs – Ontario Region [CASC-OR] will return with another strong presence at this year’s Motorama show, where the grassroots racing organization will fill a large space in the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance.

After showcasing several vehicles in their booth at last year’s show, CASC-OR will focus on interactive elements for 2025. The club is finalizing details for their featured experience, which will allow showgoers to participate in a racing-related activity, while learning about the many ways to get involved with CASC-OR.

Representatives will promote the entry-level nature of CASC-OR, which organizes ice racing and time attack events, in addition to the traditional multi-class road racing weekends. A prime example is the Miata Canada Cup, which gained quick popularity in its inaugural season; the Mazda Miata spec series offers competitive racing at a price point that’s inexpensive for motorsports.

CASC-OR race director Pat Cyr says that Motorama will provide the club with an opportunity to build their brand recognition, as they share how people can experience the excitement of the sport.

“We are the source for racing in Ontario; starting with grassroots, all the way to the very experienced and bigger teams,” said Cyr. “It’s important to be present at events, to have the discussion, to explain what we are and who we are … some people may think that it’s out of their budget range [to race], but they might be pleasantly surprised.”

CASC-OR road racing events include a variety of different series. The Pirelli Super Touring and Grand Touring sprints feature five speed-based

classes that boast a wide range of vehicles, from NASCAR-style trucks and cars to Ford Mustangs and Honda Civics. There are also open-wheel, prototype and VARAC vintage series, along with the Miata Canada Cup.

The 2025 road racing schedule features six events at three tracks, starting with the BEMC Spring Trophy Races on May 10-11, at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and concluding in early October.

The ice racing season features events at the Minden Fairgrounds, from January to early March, while Ontario Time Attack uses competitors’ individual timed laps to determine results in a variety of classes, with events held throughout the summer.

CASC-OR officials and scrutineers will be on-hand throughout the weekend at Motorama to answer questions; there will also be drivers spending time in the booth. Anyone interested in getting behind-thewheel is encouraged to chat with representatives and to attend a race weekend to see what it’s about.

The club will also have an information booth for anyone interested in helping with event operations; volunteers are a huge part of regional events and CASC-OR currently has openings that they’re looking to fill.

“Being able to have that discussion about who we are and what we do and converting that person from someone who has a slight interest into someone with a bigger interest is always exciting for me,” said Cyr. “Meeting up with the racing family and friends, from different areas; everyone seems to converge there, which is always nice in the pre-season. It’s an exciting time; lots of buzz, lots of activity, lots of energy there.”

THE BONEYARD PODCAST CORNER

MANY OF THE REGION’S TOP MOTORSPORTS MEDIA MEMBERS WILL BE ACTIVE AT MOTORAMA

For the second consecutive year, Motorama will enhance the content production experience in the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance.

The Racing Zone stage, in Hall 1B, will be home to live shows and standalone interviews throughout the weekend, while accredited media members will occupy the nearby Boneyard Podcast Corner, decorated by Boneyard Event Services.

The 20x20 booth will be anchored by a trio of shows – Stickers N’ Scuffs, True North Racing Podcast and The Wide World of Motorsports – whose hosts will be hard at work interviewing members of the racing community, while interacting with showgoers.

“Last year’s media and podcaster section was a big success,” said Motorama’s Bryce Turner. “It was awesome seeing the hosts get to meet fans and share their brand, while providing us with a ton of great content on our Racing Zone stage. The amount of off-season coverage that comes out of Motorama is something that we’re able to highlight a lot better now.”

phones and speakers, will allow people to watch and listen to the shows as they move through the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone.

As a single gathering place for tracks, series and drivers, across different levels and disciplines of motorsport, Motorama will have plenty of storylines to cover just weeks before the start of the Canadian racing season.

The media booth provides an opportunity for shows to produce more content and reach a new audience, while the stage, equipped with micro-

In addition to the three series mentioned above, Southern Ontario Dirt Show returns for another episode, along with host Jonathon Howe’s new podcast, Dirt Beers, which focuses on dirt racing outside of the region. OnlyFours, a hub for entry-level four-cylinder asphalt racing, will make its stage debut, with two live shows. Check in at the Podcast Corner for additional schedule details.

STRAIGHT AXLE MADNESS

HALL 2 GASSER TRIBUTE WILL HONOUR VEHICLES FROM THE GOLDEN YEARS OF DRAG RACING

This year’s Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors will include a special Hall 2 feature that will pay tribute to the ‘golden years’ of drag racing. The Straight Axle Madness display will spotlight a remarkable collection of cars that will transport showgoers back to the magical era of the 1960s Gasser Wars and the wild street freaks of the 1970s, who cruised the roads looking for race action.

The iconic Gasser look emerged in the late 1950s within the NHRA Gas Coupe and Sedan classes. These cars were transformed into stripped-down, high-horsepower machines built for one purpose: to dominate the drag strip.

The traditional, heavier front suspension was replaced with a lighter straight-axle setup, helping to reduce weight. To improve traction at the starting line, the front end was raised, shifting the car’s weight rearward onto the rear wheels.

AGGRESSIVE STANCE

This aggressive stance became a defining feature of the Gasser style, creating a bold statement both on the track and on the street. The era saw the rise of some of the most legendary names in drag racing, including ‘Ohio’ George Montgomery, ‘Big John’ Mazmanian, and Canadian fan favourite ‘Ontario’ George Gray from London, Ontario.

Organized by respected car and racing enthusiast Mark Rogerson, this year’s Straight Axle Madness lineup at Motorama is a tribute to the enduring legacy of these classic machines, featuring two iconic Canadian drag cars.

Keith Archer will showcase one of Canada’s finest unrestored drag machines – the legendary Roung Brothers’ championship-winning 1949 Anglia, powered by a 427 engine. And Eric Rand will bring the timeless ‘James Boys’ supercharged 1933 Willys sedan.

The rest of the impressive lineup includes: Al Holmes with his 1938 five-window Chevy coupe powered by a 427 tunnel-rammed engine; Dan Rice’s ONDR favourite

1937 Plymouth coupe; Dave ‘The Wildman’ Copper with his chopped 1949 Anglia; Dennis Dale with his injected 427-powered 1938 Willys sedan; ‘Big Len’ Lessaro’s 1941 Willys coupe with a flip front end and a 426 blown Hemi engine; Marty DeBruyn’s classic 1956 Chevy gasser; and Dave Adams’ famous ‘Iron Mistress’ 1952 Chevy coupe from Ohio. This year’s display is the largest straight axle showing in Canada, so make sure to stop by and experience these speed machines in person. You might just catch a case of ‘Straight Axle Madness!’

SPRING FEVER

DRIVEWISE SPRING FEVER FEATURE TO SPOTLIGHT 50+ TUNERS, IMPORTS AND MODERN MODIFIEDS

The tuner, import and modern modified car hobby will come together for a ninth time at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, with the popular Spring Fever presented by DriveWise returning to Hall 2.

Spring Fever will feature over 50 vehicles from this creative and unique genre, which has become known for personalization. Tuners, imports and modern modifieds include cars that are customized for everything from common changes, such as rim and exhaust switches, to more extreme changes, such as carbon fibre overlays and air-ride suspensions.

More than half of the vehicles displayed in Spring Fever will be ‘first time shown.’ There won’t be a featured display this year, to make room for more entries, but there will be a variety of makes and models in this show-within-a-show, such as a 1996 Honda Civic, 2010 Dodge Challenger, 1971 Datsun 240z, 2008 Honda Civic and 1986 Volkswagen Golf.

Everyone is encouraged to take their time in Spring Fever, as each vehicle is unique, with no shortage of details. Whether you’re a new or returning guest, there will be another fresh line-up of vehicles to discover.

“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone after a long winter and excited to see all the new builds in the tuner section,” said Motorama’s Brandon Hamid, who helps organize Spring Fever.

“I’m also excited to see the different type of builds. Showgoers can expect to see a wide variety, from show cars and drift cars to track builds and stance cars, there’s something for everyone.”

Jasmin Hamid also organizes Spring Fever for Motorama; she’s looking forward to the 2025 edition for many reasons.

“It’s the first show of the year for many of us and it’s always a great time to catch up with enthusiasts who I haven’t seen since the prior year,” said Jasmin. “This year we’ve made big strides towards welcoming many new cars to the show in Spring Fever, ones that have either never been shown here or ones that are making a comeback, after years of not being at Motorama, to debut their new looks.”

Jasmin added that she wants to hear feedback from those attending, noting that they’ll continue to make improvements for future editions of Spring Fever.

Brandon enjoys seeing the custom paint jobs, carbon fibre, air-ride suspension and three-piece wheels in this category. He says that even some returning rides offer something new to see, with changes such as new wraps or interior since the last time they were displayed.

“I think showgoers should have their eye on the whole section because each car is unique in its own way,” said Brandon. “The cars are completely customized and it’s more of a lifestyle that includes the whole family… it’s the first big show of the year, so it gets everyone out of hibernation, it’s a great big gathering and it’s a good time.”

While there’s a vibrant community in the tuner, import and modern modified car hobby, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be competition amongst the rides. There will be a category of awards for Spring Fever entries presented during the Hagerty Special Awards on Sunday, March 9 on the Meguiar’s Main Stage. Awards focus on various elements of a vehicle, including outstanding wrap, engine bay and paint.

Every car in Spring Fever is unique, according to organizer Brandon Hamid.

DRIVEWISE SPONSORS SPRING FEVER

THE COMPANY IS CANADA’S LEADER IN DRIVER EDUCATION TRAINING

DriveWise returns as presenting sponsor of Spring Fever, the tuner, import and modern modified section of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. The simulator driving instruction company will provide an interactive experience at their booth, in Hall 2.

DriveWise is Canada’s leader in driver education training, offering everything from transport truck to regular driving instruction. The company’s use of simulators allows them to train for a variety of real-life scenarios in a similar environment, without putting its students at risk.

“The simulator is a great tool for practicing driving in severe weather conditions without the actual risk,” said DriveWise owner Kristine Hill. “It’s especially helpful to nervous drivers and those who are recovering from traumatic experiences. It’s very similar to driving an actual car. The only thing it cannot replicate is G-force.”

Students are able to try different manoeuvrers, like hand-overhand steering, in a setting where making a mistake won’t hurt anyone. Learning through a simulator lets these students hone their skills before hitting the road.

Instructors can also let situations unfold naturally, allowing them to assess the student’s response and concentrate on coaching, rather than constantly monitoring safety. The simulators make it possible to create different environments and demonstrate cause-and-effect.

DriveWise offers immersive experiences across incident control/command, advanced driver education and novice training, covering everything from beginner driving lessons to training for commercial trucking

companies, corporate fleets and municipal services.

The company will have one of their state-of-the-art simulators at Motorama, with licensed driving instructors on-hand to answer questions. The DriveWise booth will be located in Spring Fever.

With over 50 vehicles from the tuner, import and modern modified car hobby, Spring Fever will be a destination for a variety of autos known for personalization. The Spring Fever vehicles are customized for everything from common changes, such as rim and exhaust switches, to more extreme changes, such as carbon fibre overlays and air-ride suspensions.

Hill knows this community well, having previously displayed her own vehicles in Spring Fever. She’s a past manager of Spring Fever.

“Not only am I passionate about the modified car world, but I also believe it’s most strongly connected to the young driver community, which is our primary market. It’s a great combination!” said Hill. “I’m most looking forward to seeing all of my friends, colleagues and clients. It’s such a fun weekend, heralding the start of the car show season and a wonderful opportunity to meet new clients too!”

Originally started by a couple who designed airplane simulators for the Royal Canadian Air Force, DriveWise has served the driving education community for over 20 years. The company has 100 locations across Canada and internationally and is a driving school approved by the MTO (Ontario Ministry of Transportation). Instead, I take a more distinctive approach that many of my clients appreciate and benefit from. I take my work very seriously, always doing my absolute best, working seven days a week.

When I accept someone’s account application, I commit to doing my absolute best for them.”

Kirkland provides personalized, professional investment advice, tailoring strategies to each individual or corporate client based on their unique goals, needs and philosophies. He points to the many positive testimonials on his website, GKirklandWealth.com, as proof of his hard work and expertise.

Graeme Kirkland will be at Motorama for all three days, at his booth in Hall 1 (#227).

“The Motorama show is a lot of fun,” said Kirkland. “We enjoy connecting with people and celebrities. My team and I look forward to being there again. If you love classic, beautiful and interesting cars, and enjoy meeting wonderful people from all over, it’s an amazing experience. We’re proud to be part of it and excited about our new role as the Official Investment Sponsor of Motorama 2025.”
