he world came crashing down when Corona Virus hit the globe and shook everyone out of normalcy. The powers that be and the medical fraternity were all appalled at the way the virus was attacking and constantly changing its qualities and mutation, making it difficult to arrive at a specific treatment for the life-threatening pandemic. Even today, it continues to do so. Never was the entire world in such a dilemma and powerless to find a permanent solution to rid mankind of the deadly virus. Even as the world seemed to crumble under the attacks made by the virus, many tried to find solutions to at least prevent the virus from infecting people. As a temporary solution, lockdowns were imposed for some time. This took a serious toll on the economies of countries across the globe. The economic downfall was just a tip of the iceberg that led to many other serious issues related to economy. Some companies, however, have remained out of the bound of Covid-19. Rather they flourished during these tesing times. And if the experts are to be believed they will continue to flourish even after a solution/vaccine is discovered. The reason – after such a huge setback due to the pandemic people are expected to be extremely cautious for fear of contracting the virus. Thus, the products and services, and precautionary measures would be followed for years to come. If any business is flourishing during this period, it is the health care sector where right from pharmaceuticals to
From the patient engagement and many related fields are in demand and they are catering to their clients online. The smarter ones diverted into manufacturing precautionary items against the pandemic, like sanitizers, masks, hand gloves, PPE kits while the existing ones manufactured more than their normal figures. Online food and essential services delivery have seen a huge surge in business with the demands escalating on a never-before high during the pandemic. Many households have even started checking the oxygen levels of their family members with Oximeters. This also led to more production of such machines. Manufacture of temperature checking units have gone up with practically every building using it for visitors/residents/employees entering the premises. Foods that boost immune system, build strength and energy boosters, various types of herbal tea (that can be made at home), Ayurvedic food, drinks and powders have seen a never-before demand and subsequent supply. To satisfy the demands, naturally the manufacturing went up. Along with these the sale of insurance policies also rose higher than before. Online buying of policies is on a high. If insurance experts are to be believed, then the sales of insurance policies have gone up by more than twice their usual sale. Industry experts also predict that the sales would only go up once the economy gets streamlined because many of them had not bought insurance before the pandemic, not doubting that a deadly virus would appear suddenly. As a precautionary measure in future, people are expected to buy insurance policies. Besides, e-learning, online training, online fitness classes, online hobby classes, online motivational coaching, online public relations campaigns are some of the other businesses that have not been touched by the pandemic. Many Apps have come up to deal with the pandemic and to help people live life close to normal. Today, the word negative means positive. Nothing gives a Covid suspect patient more respite than a negative report. The fear that has gripped the minds of people worldwide is expected to propel such businesses even post-Covid.

Accelerating Digital Transformation With PLM

n the aftermath of COVID-19, as product development companies shift their focus on accelerating initiatives that enable more agility and operational excellence, the need to adopt Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) has become quintessential. With an appropriate and customized PLM software on-board, forward-thinking organizations can establish the digital thread for Industry 4.0 and unlock a multitude of benefits like better quality products, faster time to market, reduced costs, greater customer satisfaction, and much more. To reap such benefits, companies need a technology partner that specializes in PLM technology and can execute a successful PLM adoption program. The Journey Towards PLM Technology Services Leadership The name SteepGraph was coined to indicate the upward growth graph that its customers could achieve by partnering with it. From the very beginning, SteepGraph’s core value was to deliver 120% in whatever it did for its customers. Over time this has become an integral part of the organization’s culture and winning formula. Customers today identify SteepGraph as a trusted partner who is always focused on maximum value delivery by going the extra mile. The company started its initial business by offering PLM consulting and engineering services on Dassault Systèmes products (ENOVIA, CAD Integrations, CPG Accelerators to name a few). The first year saw SteepGraph working on global projects in South Korea, Taiwan, India, Canada, and the U.S. The next year, 2010 was a challenging year with no new business, but a strategic partnership with another PLM vendor Aras Corporation gave them the critical boost. From 2011 onwards, the company kept growing at a rapid rate with an expansion of its portfolio (both services and tools), team, customer base, industries, and geographies. In 2013, it become an official service provider partner (SPP) for Dassault Systèmes and increased its footprint by setting up a subsidiary in Michigan, United States. Comprehensive Offerings for PLM Success SteepGraph offers expert consulting and engineering services on two major PLM platforms currently – Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE and Aras Corporation’s Aras Innovator. Some of these tools and frameworks are – 3DX Test Automation Suite, aka, 3DX TAS (ensures high-quality and bug-free releases), 3DX ETL Framework (speeds up data migration to the 3DX platform), 3DX Upgrade Framework (enables much faster version upgrades) and many more. organizations to unlock the value of digital manufacturing. He says, “PLM enables organizations to grow, which leads to industry growth and which ultimately leads to a nation’s growth.” He and the other co-founders also understood the challenges faced by organizations to implement PLM and unlock its value. Each customer has its unique processes that need to be implemented in a PLM software platform. The more the customization, the more difficult it is for the customer to keep up with future upgrades. The legacy systems containing the organization’s unique knowledge and data also need to be retained and utilized for a successful PLM adoption program. He sums it up saying “PLM Implementation Is the Biggest Hurdle to PLM Adoption”. This has been his major motivation – removing the various hurdles to PLM implementation and enabling customers of all sizes to unlock business value. Customer-Centric and Value Focused Approach SteepGraph engages with its customers on their PLM projects at a very early stage. Their team tries to

Handling Hurdles Some of the biggest challenges to excel in running a successful PLM business are to cope up with rapidly changing industry trends, technologies, PLM products, acquiring new skills, attracting talented consultants, and at the same time being Quality focused and Cost competitive. Also educating customers on global best practices and organizational change strategies is one of the key challenges. It needs a fine balance between adoption and change.

At the same time, its core philosophy of not reinventing the wheel and bringing reusable components, tools, and methodologies helps it to deliver consistency, quality, and cost-effective solutions to its customers. After garnering years of experience, Himanshu advises the younger players saying, “If you want to be a successful entrepreneur in the PLM industry; learn to align with the customer’s Vision, build agile work culture to adapt everchanging industry/technology/customer needs and never compromise on quality. However, with the inevitable Industry 4.0 revolution, companies will have an extended enterprise value chain integration with their suppliers, partners, and customers. PLM solutions have the potential to transform the way products are designed, produced, and serviced. SteepGraph Team is continuously working on innovations in tools, products, and solutions to reduce the cost to customers. It will have a much stronger focus on the North American market with Girish Gowda as Managing Director of SteepGraph North America. Bringing the PLM benefits to Indian customers is a big focus for the company as well. “India can become a hub of digital manufacturing using PLM technology”. Moreover, will continue to expand our expertise to other major PLM platforms, related technologies and offer an even bigger yet value-focused solution portfolio for our customers worldwide,” concludes Himanshu.

Thousands of companies out there are frustrated by the expense, time ineffectiveness and potential for error that handling essential tasks manually often results in. COMPANY MISSION
COMPANY VISION
We are on mission to help eet operators to overcome their practical problems, pilferages and to increase the efciency and protability in eet operations systematically.
Our vision is to create a virtual transport ecosystem with all possible market opportunities—to manage and operate—a eet of any size efciently in an organized way.
INTERVIEW WITH INSIGHTS SUCCESS team Fleetop. Through the below-given conversation, we also got insights into the Indian transport industry and helping the industry with all their strategic fleet management and maintenance solutions. Could you please give us an overview of the company? Fleetop is an end to end fleet management and maintenance software for all fleet size whether it is one vehicle or many, also we can call it as a fleet PLM- product lifecycle management tool. It's the first time in the Indian market with comprehensive features covering entire fleet operations. It’s a step towards changing the unorganized business into digitalised, system-driven organized one. It’s an integrable, collaborative tool though which data is managed and made easily available for comparisons and decision making. Now more than 15000 vehicles are inducted and managed using Fleetop with more than 30 satisfied fleet operators across various states.
problems faced in their daily operations. To this, we started searching for a suitable application in the market to overcome practical problems faced and bring ease. After exploring various options finally, we realized there is no such end to end product available to cater to the Indian transport industry. Of course, there were a few software available. They were either designed to keep European market in mind or had limited functionality. Most options offered GPS based solutions which neither solves the operator problems nor helps in improving efficiency. At this point idea of FleeTop emerged—to come out with the solution to remove the curse that the transport industry had—an unorganised business, with complete people dependency and lacking process-driven controls. We understood problems correctly and started building the application bringing best practices into play. Slowly and gradually it started to take the right shape.
Kindly tell us about your company’s inception and how the idea of it was conceived.
When you start changing the age-old traditions of trade, the biggest challenge will be to convince industry players to adapt and accept the change. Few experimentative players came forward and their positive feedback raised our morale.
Having a transport background with technical qualification and also close working with the fleet operators enabled us to understand their practical
This gave us a boost to take a few more risks and add additional functionalities. We became more innovative and started covering all fleet operational areas.

With Fleetop, fleet owners experienced more efficiency by decreasing their vehicle downtime, increased vehicle availability, reduced fuel theft & pilferages and improved fuel efficiency. This was measurable for everyone! Drivers driving patterns, behaviors are tracked using the CAN data which really helped management to educate them with regards to their driving skills and to reduce road accidents and unwanted incidents. Warehousing spares and tyre management, part utilization is made simpler with our application and enabling them to track its usage and warranty related issues. With FleeTop vehicle allocation and its trip management is made much simpler and organized. Most of the fleet operators concentrate completely into their operations neglecting the accounting part which eventually ends up in making a loss or even may result in business going nonviable to exist. With Fleetop we addressed this very crucial area as well. Our software offers accounting solution too. Fleetop empowers management to know commercial aspects in every operational level with which then can easily identify and focus on loss-making assets and can improve the financial health. Kindly share inspirational factors behind the organization? Group of young energetic, restless, go-getters! Our other strength is our core transport domain experience with market existence from past 15 years serving more than 300 + fleet operators has really strengthened our thoughts to come up with an industry-proven FMS application. Kindly brief us about the facilities / process that the company deals with? We at FleeTop, help fleet owners manage their day to day activities systematically with the help of our fleet management and maintenance software Fleetop. Purs is a cloud-based SAAS application which connects all different departments establishing better control on operations and accounts.

he year 2020 has been at the receiving end for reasons aplenty. The pandemic that hit the world since the first quarter of the year is yet to meet its end and relieve people of the difficult times that they are facing. But it has also been the best teacher for human race and this year will be etched in the history of mankind for reasons beyond the obvious. While for many, the world has almost come to a standstill or is at the most moving at snail’s pace, there are some who refuse to give up, come what may. These are the achievers who not only survive the turbulent tides but also set an example for many to emulate, by their sheer grit and perseverance and the never-say-die attitude. Keeping oneself afloat in such trying times is no cakewalk. However, when you realise that there is no choice but to swim past the harsh waters and relentlessly pursue your dream, nothing is impossible. Leaders are made of qualities like these. Rather than waiting for the pandemic to end or going slow during these times, they prefer to keep chasing their goals. It may not always be possible to achieve the target, but consistency is the key to keep moving towards the right direction. With the stock markets seeing a fall that is not likely to rise significantly in the next six months, various financial frauds and a global economic slowdown, businessmen are facing a Herculean task. If the old school of thought—asking people to hang on for some more time as this too will pass—is followed diligently, the success mantra will not be far away albeit with lots of twists and turns, flats and downhills. The ones treading on all these elements on their path will gradually rise on the plateau of success. A little

smartness in making hay while the sun shines can go a long way in establishing a business and propelling it to success. And this is the difference between those who wait for the situation to change so that they can embark upon their journey and those who take advantage of the situation to move ahead in their career, pouncing upon any small or big opportunity, under any circumstance. The world is gradually limping back to normalcy. Yet, no one is sure when we would go back to pre-Covid times. History has it that whenever there has been a crisis, the enterprising ones came up with solutions and alternatives. Such business achievers have not only carved a niche for themselves by refusing to move with the herd but have also uplifted the lives of many during such times by providing employment. They are real heroes who have made a difference of sorts in 2020 – be it those who already had a business or those who started a new one. Besides, bringing success for themselves, they have also helped the economy of their respective countries and have been a messiah for their employees. The courage of the business leaders of 2020 is commendable, and they deserve a special mention whenever we talk about economic slowdown due to the pandemic. And when the situation is back to normal, these are the very leaders who will not have to struggle back to normalcy. They will just have to surge ahead. Their optimism in pursuing their ambitions when everyone was crying hoarse, is remarkable and they will be role models for many in the present as well as in the future.

uch like the novel virus, the COVID-19 brought unprecedented situations. No organization, no industry, no establishment across the globe was prepared for it. Among those, the insurance industry too got a strong hit. Motor insurance, which dominates the General Insurance segment got affected the most. Likewise, the automotive industry and sales have been affected by the pandemic the big time. However, two aspects which were quite neglected in the Indian insurance space i.e. Health and Life Insurance saw a silver lining. Both these sectors witnessed sharp growth, which of course, provided some retreat to insurers. apan’s tech startups bitgrit and Atrae just rolled out a professional ‘matching’ app in India offering jobs in India after Japan
Japan’s tech startups bitgrit and Atrae brings their professional job ‘matching’ app in India • The Yenta app will allow professionals and employers to ‘swipe right’ to the profiles of their interest. • Under the initiative, the company is also inviting data scientists from around the world for an online competition — ‘SwipeToSuccess’ — to submit their optimization models for the app. • Starting today, the competition will be accepting the optimisation algorithms for the next 69 days — until October 31, 2020. • The top five submissions will be rewarded with cash prizes totalling US$10,000 ( nearly ₹7.4 lakh). Global data science platform bitgrit has collaborated with Atrae, a Japanese internet company, to launch their professional job ‘matching’ and networking application — Yenta app — to bridge the talent gap in India. The joint initiative will allow professionals to connect and engage with hiring managers for jobs in India as well as Japan.
About Atrae - Atrae is a Tokyobased People Tech Company that was formulated in 2003 with a vision to create businesses that expand people's possibilities through technology. 24 | INSIGHTS SUCCESS
Under the initiative, the company is also inviting data scientists from around the world for an online competition — ‘SwipeToSuccess’ — to submit their optimization models for the app. The idea is to build a model to predict the level of compatibility of a pair of users based on their profiles — and ensure that the app recommends the most linked and suitable profiles to the users. “We are pleased to announce the launch of yenta in India as our first base for global expansion in collaboration with bitgrit. In Focus the potential of data scientists and expand the services provided by the Yenta app across India,” said the CTO of Atrae Corporation, Toshiyuki Oka. The competition will kickstart on Monday (August 24) and will be accepting optimisation algorithms for the next 69 days (till October 31, 2020). The top five submissions will be rewarded with cash prizes totalling USD10,000 ( nearly ₹7.4 lakh). Commenting on the launch, Tetsuro Masunaga, Co-founder & CEO of bitgrit said “We are pleased to partner with Atrae for the expansion of their yenta app to India and this online AI competition to improve the app’s profile-matching algorithm. This partnership will strengthen bitgrit’s data science community and provide a platform to showcase their domain skills in emerging technologies.” The mobile application, which was first launched in Japan in 2016, aims to connect professionals in the IT space. It currently has users from over 20,000 companies where professionals can network, get a job, engage with industry experts and founders for partnerships. The cross -industry platform will enable employers to spot and hire skilled talent and also interact with other business owners. The professionals and employers registered on the Yenta app can ‘swipe right’ on a suitable match and chat with them, if the other user also likes the profile. “You swipe right on profiles you’re interested in, and if the other person is also interested and swipes right on your profile, you can message, meet up, and submit a review for each other,” Oka explained. The ongoing pandemic has created a massive job loss as businesses came to a grinding halt. As per the data by the Centre for Monitoring indian Economy (CMIE), the urban unemployment rate in India stood at 9.15% in June — higher than rural unemployment. “This initiative is even more relevant now with the coronavirus-induced economic crisis that has severely impacted businesses, thereby triggering unemployment on a large scale,” Masunaga added. The application is available for both iOS and Android users. The details of the competition can be viewed here.

and office, managing both the fronts well and ensuring to give my 100% to all that I did. In the past 20+ years, I have worked with organisations like Ionidea, Valtech India and Societe Generale, and since 2011 I have been with Klaus IT. Kindly describe in brief about your company and its services/products. Klaus IT Solutions is one of the leading ISO9001:27001 certified professional services and solutions companies. Klaus was established in 2011 and is headquartered in the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore. My biggest inspiration is my family. My dad was a man who was full of life and always told, “Work is worship” and I grew watching him giving his best to all. I imbibed the same qualities and one thing which I am very proud of, is my confidence and enthusiasm that has taken me to places. I always believe in self-motivation and give myself a “pat on the back” for things that I do well. My husband and my daughter are the best critiques ensuring I stay grounded all the time.

Share with us the highest point, most memorable and remarkable moment of your life, professionally. Also, the lowest phase of your life or the toughest deal to crack. It is every individual dream to be heading an organisation and when our team supported by our MD, Mr. Varma announced that I will have to take up the CEO’s role, that was a moment, I will cherish forever. Toughest deal to crack was a Government project that we were bidding for. For two consecutive times, we lost the bid by just a whisker (as it was a closed bid tender) but finally when we won it the third time, it was worth all the effort. Tell us about your passions, ambitions, and goals. I always set very high goals for myself and worked smart/hard to reach this spot. I am very passionate about work but maintain a perfect work life balance. Our MD, colleagues, and teamwork in tandem in ensuring that we take Klaus to newer heights, so my goal is to ensure that we work collectively to make this happen. Tell us your major achievements and your company’s achievements under your leadership. I would rather say its Klaus’ achievements and I was instrumental in pushing through some important deals, be it new client acquisitions or bagging high value projects which improved the entire outlook of Klaus.
Everybody talks about diversity, but I have seen this in the true spirit at Klaus. We have an equal number of women leaders in our Executive Committee who are very efficiently managing their portfolios. The entire outlook is changing but still women are left behind in the race and are forced to prioritise family over career. It is important to create a viable support system for women who are career oriented so that when they take a break and come back, they are at par with other colleagues. Also, the orthodox/traditional ways of doing business has changed to working remotely, going digital which certainly favours Women as they can multitask and find a perfect work life balance What are the most important lessons you have learned throughout and would like to share? Stay connected. Building strong relationships, be it with employees, clients, colleagues, family, friends has helped me sail through the toughest times in my life both personally and professionally Where do you see yourself in the near future? Tell us about your future goals. I am a contented person so happy in the space where I am currently. Professionally, I would like to see Klaus in the top 10 Companies to work. In terms of personal goals, I feel sad when I see people in old age homes, so I would certainly want to work towards helping people in this phase of their life.
Tell us about the challenges you faced to withstand the complexities your industry. Brief us about the industry scenario from your perspective.
