Your Locally Produced Menu At the Humber Royal we are striving to offer you as much produce from Lincolnshire as we can and to support local suppliers as far as possible. Our free range eggs are supplied by the family-run Primrose Farm, Wragby, where the hens have unrestricted movement within their field and shed and are accredited to the Freedom Food Scheme. Our meat is supplied by John Pettit of Grimsby, award winning butchers established in 1892. John Pettit’s has a worldwide reputation for Lincolnshire pork sausages made to an original family recipe dating back to 1810 and has won numerous awards including 12 gold medals and 3 silver medals in the BPEX (British Pork Executive) pork product of the year competition 2010. Black pudding and some ham products are from the Curly Coated pigs at the Rectory Reserve, Fulletby. The original Lincolnshire Curly Coated pig became extinct in the early 1970s. However, during the last century several hundred were exported to Austria and Hungary to cross-breed with, and improve, the native Mangalitza curly coated pig. About a dozen Mangalitza sows and three boars were imported to the UK, for the first time, in 2006. The Rectory Reserve’s original pigs – Mangal, Wurzel, Ginger and Pepper - came from the first litters of these imports to be born in England. All our vegetables are field fresh and always in season, supplied by Pippins and sourced from the Windy Ridge Farm in Kirton Holme. Our Cheeses are the award winning Cote Hill Blues from the Cote Hill Farm, Osgodby and the famous Lincolnshire Poacher. Our ice cream is supplied by Dennetts, the family run ice cream makers from Spilsby. Homemade to their own recipe since 1926 by four generations of Dennetts, only the finest double cream and milk from Lincolnshire is used. We have chosen our suppliers carefully to ensure we bring you the finest ingredients Lincolnshire has to offer.
