Our meat is supplied by John Pettit of Grimsby, award winning butchers established in 1892. John Pettit’s has a worldwide reputation for Lincolnshire pork sausages made to an original family recipe dating back to 1810 and has won numerous awards including 12 gold medals and 3 silver medals in the BPEX (British Pork Executive) pork product of the year competition 2010. The black pudding is from the Curly Coated pigs at the Rectory Reserve, Fulletby. The original Lincolnshire Curly Coated pig became extinct in the early 1970s.

About a dozen Mangalitza sows and three boars were imported to the UK, for the first time, in 2006. The Rectory Reserve’s original pigs – Mangal, Wurzel, Ginger and Pepper came from the first litters of these imports to be born in England. Our smoked fish is smoked locally by Alfred Enderby Ltd, Grimsby, one of only a few independent, family run, traditional fish smoking firms left in England. The traditional smokehouse with its distinctive tall chimneys is about 100 years old.
