Making Sense of Devondale branding

By refreshing the Devondale logo we have simplified it into a strong, bold mark that symbolises connecting. We have incorporated subtle hidden elements within the negative space & also including a dynamic graphic mark that can be used to create variety and intrigue within the design. The typeface chosen is strong and confident using a combination of the dark and light green to create a striking contrast. The mark flowing in from the left & right suggest a power cable, this also runs into the “D” where you can see comnbined with the negative space of the “E” creates the shape of a 2 pin plug, this is a subtle but clever suggestion to the services you provide. The logo has a few variations, some including the connecting cable running through it while it can also be used in isolation for more corporate feel. The graphic mark that flows through the brand can be used in a number of dynamic and creative ways that will allow the brand to evolve and adapt over time for a wide variety of mediums and devices, as seen in the rest of this presentation.

CORPORATE LOGO

1. The DED logo can be used in isolation in two formats, square or landscape. This means you’ll be able to use an appropriately sized brand depending on he space available. When you are creating graphic communications that demand a little more creativity, such as advertising, the ‘power cable’ mark can be introduced to create striking elements and create tension within the design.

2. SECONDARY TYPEFACE As seen on the brochure we have included a secondary typeface as part of the brand tool-set. This can be used to communicate on more of a human level, rather than as a corporation. For example on your website it could highlight your favourites - introducing a personalised tone of voice.

VAN LIVERY

1. The company vans provide a great opportunity to experiment with the brand assets. The graphic mark can wrap all the way around the van before connecting up the other side. Creating an exciting and dynamic mark that stands out.



WEBSITE HOMEPAGE

1. Clear, uncluttered navigation directs users straight to products.

2. A large header banner captures attention. You can use stock photography to set the scene (i.e. a kitchen photograph) then display select products over the top framed that highlight the specific offer. The graphic mark is also used to create uniqueness and to house the typography.



COLLECTION PAGE

1. Clear filters that follow the user down the page as they scroll means that it is incredibly easy for customers to narrow down their search at any point in time.

1. Flash sales highlight the offer while providing countdown that helps to add to the urgency around the sale.
