The big question of whether the existence of extraterrestrial UFO’s has a basis as a true phenomenon, is a subject of real controversy and has been widely debated throughout recent history. The vast majority of reported incidents can be attributed to explainable sources such as aircraft - military & civilian and unusual weather phenomenon. However a small percentage of such reports, despite investigation, are never solved. This document will explore the issue not just of simply if UFO’s are real, as the term simply means any type of flying object which is as of yet unidentified, but of whether or not extraterrestrial type, unidentified flying crafts have truly visited our planet and been witnessed by human beings. In order to analyse this topic, a range of highly credible eye witness accounts will be presented alongside the most evidencing UFO cases experienced in recent times. Our solar system is the gravitational bound system of the sun with objects, such as planets, dwarf planets and moons that orbit it. There are eight planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune as depicted in the opposite illustration. New solar systems are discovered frequently with the estimation that there are tens of billions of systems in our galaxy. This makes us question the probability that intelligent life does exist elsewhere in the universe. An even more intriguing question is if whether these intelligent life forms have visited our planet. This case file aims to set out the best, authentic and intriguing evidence which supports this idea.

B/GROUND INFO: In 1985 Bowyer began to fly and four years later he qualified as a commercial pilot. Since then, he has worked for many airlines in Britain, Europe, and the Middle East, spending ten years, beginning in 1999, with Aurigny Air Services based in
the Channel Islands. Aurigny flies between the three largest islands of Alderney, Jersey, Guernsey and Western France and England. Bowyer has completed some 5,000 hours and 8,000 landings for Aurigny in Britten-Norman Trislander type aircraft.
On April 23, 2007, my passengers and I witnessed multiple, as yet unidentified objects over these islands while crossing the English channel. They were very, very large. The objects were picked up on radar in two locations, and one was witnessed by another pilot from a totally different vantage point. At 4,000 feet on that afternoon, the visibility was very good - at least 100 miles all around - with a low-level haze layer underneath us up to 2,000 feet. We were on route from Southampton, England, to Alderney, which takes about forty minutes cruising at 150mph. At first I saw one object that seemed close because of its apparent size, and I considered it to be only five or six miles distant. However as time passed with the object remaining in view, even though I had flown twenty miles closer to it, it still appeared to be a good distance away.

I reached for my binoculars while flying on autopilot, and viewing it magnified ten times, found that this light emitting object had a definite shape: that of a thin cigar, or a CD viewed on edge with a slight incline. It was sharply defined, and pointed on both ends.
The aspect ratio was approximately 15:1 and I could clearly see a dark band two thirds of the way along from left to right while viewing it through binoculars. As I drew nearer to the object, a second identical shape appeared beyond the first. Both objects were of a flattened disc shape with the same dark area to the right rise. They were brilliant yellow with light emanating from them.
At this point, the passengers began to notice the unusual things and to ask about them. I decide not to make any announcements over the intercom so as not to alarm anyone, but it was obvious that some were getting concerned. By now the two identical objects were easily visible without binoculars, the second one behind the closer one, with exactly the same characteristics albeit farther away. Air Traffic Control then informed me that there were two reflections from primary radar, both to the Southwest of Alderney.
I was able to determine that I was approximately fifty-five miles away from the first object, not the ten miles or less that I had originally thought. Flying around Europe at night, one gets to know the size of towns and cities relative to specific ranges, putting a scale on places of known size, along with a known oblique angle from a distant viewpoint. I was able to apply this same reference to the unidentified objects, presuming that they were flattened discs; they of course appeared long and thin from my viewpoint from the side. Seeing a reasonably large town from fifty-five miles would have been comparable to the size of this object. It was at this point that its massive size became clear, and I estimated it to be up to a mile long.

Capt. Guerra left service in 1990 and has been a captain with Portugalia Airlines - which is the largest commercial Airline in Portugal.
On the morning of November 2, 1982, I was flying a DHC-1 Chipmunk northward in the region of Montejunto Mountain and Torres Vedras near Ota Air Base. It was a beautiful, clear day with no clouds, and I was headed in the direction of my work area, E (echo) zone, planning to climb to 6000 feet for aerobatic training. As a twenty nine year old lieutenant with ten years in the air force, I was a flight instructor as part of 101 Air Force squadron, flying solo in my plane.
At about 10:50am, when I was overflying Maxial zone at an altitude of 5000 - 5500 feet, I noticed below me and to the left, near the ground, another ‘aircraft’. But after a few second I saw that this airplane seemed to have only a fuselage. It didn’t have wings and it didn’t have a tail, only a cockpit. What kind of airplane could that be?

I immediately turned my plane 180 degrees to the left in order to follow and identify this ‘object’, which was flying to the south. Suddenly the object climbed straight up to my altitude of 5000 feet in under ten seconds. It stopped right in front of me, at first with some instability, oscillations, and a wavering motion, and then it stabilised and was still - a metallic disc composed of two halves, one on the top and another on the bottom, with some kind of band around the centre, brilliant, with the top reflecting the sun. The bottom half was a darker tone.
At first it moved with my aircraft, then it flew at a fantastic speed in a large elliptical orbit to the left, between 5000 feet to the South and approximately 10,000 feet to the North, always from left to right, repeating this route over and over. I tried to keep it in sight.
I called the tower and told the controller that there was a strange object flying around me. He, and others from three or four other airplanes, said it must be some kind of balloon. I told them that if it was a balloon, how could it ascend from the ground to 5000 feet in a few seconds? The response was silence. They asked for my location, my work zone, and two fellow Air Force officers, Carlos Garces and Antonio Gomes, told me they would join me.
When Garces and Gomes arrived in their Chipmunk after about fifteen minutes, they radioed “where is it?” I gave them the position, and after they saw it I felt better, because now two more Air Force pilots had seen the same thing I did.
We could estimate the size relative to the length of the Chipmunk’s fuselage (7.75 meters): about eight to ten feet. I told my two Air Force colleagues that I was planning an intercept. Since the object’s speed was much faster than my own, I flew directly to a point along the trajectory of its elliptical course. It came toward me and flew right over me, on top of my aircraft, and stopped there, like a helicopter landing but much, much faster, breaking all the rules of aerodynamics. It was very close to my plane, only about fifteen feet. It then flew off in a flash toward the direction of Sintra Mountain to the sea.

Peru’s newest supersonic Sukhoi jet. Huertas was an established top aerial marksmen within the Air Force. He was stationed at La Joya Air Force Base in 1980 which had around 1800 military personal and civilians based there.
Along with my air squadron, I was ready at that moment for instant take off, as we always are. A chief of service arrived in a van and got out to tell us there was an object that looked like some kind of balloon suspended in the air towards the end of the runway. We stepped out to see it, and then we knew what we had to do. Four of us pilots stood outside observing the object. The second commander of the unit, Commander FAP Carolos Vasquez Zegarra, ordered that one of the members of the air squad take off and bring the object down. Our chief turned to me and said, “Oscar, you be the one to go”.

The round object was about three miles (five kilometers) away from us, hanging at an altitude of about 2000 feet (600 meters) above the ground. Since the sky was absolutely clear, the object shone due to the reflection of the sun.
The balloon was in restricted airspace without authorization representing a grave challenge to national sovereignty. All civilian and military pilots use aerial charts on which highly protected airspace, such as that over our base, is clearly marked. La Joya was one of the few bases in South America that possessed Soviet made warfare equipment, and we were concerned about espionage.
The squad commander , Captain Oscar Alegre Valdez, ordered me to take off in my Sukhoi-22 fighter jet to intercept the balloon before it got any closer to the base. Since the object was within the perimeter of the base and my plane was armed with 30mm shells, I decided to attack from the Northwest to the Southeast. This way, the sun would be to my left and I could avoid impacting the base with my weapons.
After take off, I made a turn to the right and reached an altitude of 8000 feet. I then positioned myself for the attack. Zeroing in on the balloon,
I reached the necessary distance and shot a burst of sixty-four
30mm shells, which created a cone shaped ‘wall of fire’ that would normally obliterate anything in its path. I thought the balloon would be torn open and gases would start pouring out of it. But nothing happened. It seemed as if the huge bullets were absorbed by the balloon and it wasn’t damaged at all. Then suddenly the object began to ascend very rapidly and head away from the base.

I initiated a chase by activating the afterburner of my plane and reported to the control tower that I intended to follow procedures and continue the task of bringing down the object. Since I knew that this was an extremely unusual mission, I asked that they make sure the tape recorders were working so that everything taking place from that moment on would be recorded.
My jet flew at a speed of 600mph and the ‘balloon’ remained about 1600 feet in front of me. I was in full pursuit of the object, when it came to a sudden stop and forced me to veer to the side. I made a turn upward to the right and tried to position myself for another shot. Once I obtained the desired position to fire, which was approximately 3000 feet from the object, I began closing in on it until I had it in perfect sight. I locked onto the target and was ready to shoot. But just at that moment, the object made another fast climb, evading the attack. It eluded my attack three more times, each time at the very last moment.
Eventually, as a result of this series of rapid movement upwards, the object ended up at an altitude of 46,000 feet. I decided to make a bold ascent with my plane so that this time I would be above the object and then I would come down on it vertically and initiate an attack from above. But to my surprise, the object ascended once again at a high speed and placed itself next to me in parallel formation.
I got as close as about 300 feet from it. I was startled to see that the ‘balloon’ was not a balloon at all.
It was an object that measured
35 feet in diameter with a shiny dome on top that was cream coloured, similar to a light bulb cut in half. The bottom was a wider circular base, a silver colour and looked like some kind of metal . It lacked all the typical components of aircraft. It had no wings, propulsion jets, exhausts, windows, antennae and so forth. It had no visable propulsion system. At this moment, I realised this was not a spying device but a UFO, something totally unknown.

One of the strangest and unexplained encounters with a UFO occurred in the skies above Australia - South of Melbourne on October 21st 1978. Frederick Valentich was a twenty year old pilot who was flying a Cessna 182L single engine, propeller driven airplane for a night flight. However after 9:00pm, whilst at an altitude of 4500 feet over the waters of Bass Strait, he experienced an unknown flying craft. Distressed, he began conversing with Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne (flight service specialist Steve Robey) in an attempt to establish what it was he was experiencing and how he should proceed. The communication between Robey and Valentich ended after six minutes. Nor Valentich or his plane was ever found.

The above footage was captured by a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet using the Raytheon AN/ASQ228 Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared pod. This is the most advanced sensor and tracking system in today’s technology. The footage was approved for public release from the US government, declassified and has been classed as an authentic unidentified flying object.
The footage in the first 4 screen shots are black and white due to the sensor being in ‘white-hot’ mode. The white elements in the video are warmer than the darker areas. The pursuing aircraft recording this is in a left hand turn flying Mach 0.58 at an altitude of 25,010 feet. The unidentified flying craft is flying just below 2 degrees and 54 degrees to the left of the airplane.
The sensor is switched from ‘whitehot’ to ‘black-hot’ midway through the recording, as can be seen in the last 5 images. This gives the craft a much clearer shape - an oval, disc shape with protrusions at the top and bottom. Any normal aircraft would usually show components such as an exhaust plume, however this is not evident on the Super Hornet targeting sensors.

The above footage was captured by a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet using the Raytheon AN/ASQ-228 Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared Pod.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet is at an altitude of 25,000 feet, 259 knots, 300mph, Mach 0.61. The sensor is aimed below the horizon 36 degrees to the left of the F/a18’s travelling direction.
Using two sensor modes - midwave infrared and visual, it captures targets at distances exceeding 40nm. This footage was released and authenticated by the United States government.
The first three images show the sensor (the two lines in centre of screen), struggling to pick up on the target which is highlighted in a white circle and seen flying above the ocean background.
Moving at such high speeds, it takes the tracking system three attempts to lock on which allows the object to remain in the screen frame. As noted by the pilot, there is no wings or tails on the flying object, nor is there any exhaust plume which would have been clearly evident using the infrared tracking system.

This photograph was taken in 1958 from a Brazilian Navy survey ship, located off Trindade Island which is 600 miles East of the Brazilian city Rio de Janeiro. Witnessed by a multiple of officers and scientists on board the ship, a strange flying object was seen with a Saturn like ring around a central circular hub. The photographs taken have been analysed by the Brazilian Navy and the president of Brazil himself vouched for their authenticity.

Probably one of the most famous UFO photographs ever taken are the ‘McMinnville UFO Photographs’. Taken in 1950, on a farm near McMinnville Oregon, US, they were printed in magazines and newspapers across the country. Evelyn Trent and her husband were in the back yard of her farmhouse when she saw a slow moving, metallic disc in the sky. Her husband also witnessed the craft, went to retrieve his camera and then photographed it before it flew away. The photograph has been subject to debate, being called a hoax by some, however scientific analysis shows the photo has not been manipulated in any form.

These sightings included police - a patrol at 5:15pm witnessed a triangular craft hovering with spotlights and then moving silently. The craft remained over the town of Eupen for around half an hour, seen by multiple witnesses, before moving to Lake Gileppe. Again, the UFO was seen by further people as it seemed to emit light
On the 11th December, a twelve year old boy, along with all his family, saw a craft over their home for 15 minutes. The boy then sketched out the craft he had seen, a triangular shape with three large ‘spot’ lights.

The original colour slide of the photograph film was analysed by a specialist in satellite imagery, a senior scientist with NASA and also a Doctor in nuclear physics. Their report stated that their was no indication of any tampering with the photo.
In addition to this, a colonel also sketched a very similar triangular craft with the same light pattern and sent this to the Belgian minister of defence.
The analysis showed a highlighted pattern of light particles around the craft, suggesting the presence of a strong magnetic field.

ROSWELL
R O S W E L L The most well known UFO case in history is without doubt, Roswell. The occurrences surrounding what really happened have been discussed and scrutinised for over the last seventy years. We have the official story given by the US military at the time of the incident, the conflicting reports of witnesses and then more recently, an amended explanation from the US government. Roswell is a small town located in the state of New Mexico. It was in this area of which the famous ‘Roswell UFO crash’ was said to have occured. During the night of the 2nd July 1947 at around 10:00pm, a well known couple who resided in Roswell, Mr and Mrs Dan Wilmot, witnessed in the night sky over their front porch, a ‘big glowing object’. The shape of which they quoted as ‘two inverted saucers faced mouth to mouth’. What is particularly interesting about this statement is that eight days earlier, a man named Kenneth Arnold who was an experienced pilot, reported whilst flying over the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, to have witnessed nine separate flying objects flying in a V type formation at speeds in excess of 1000mph. He would report and describe the unusual crafts as “they flew like a saucer would if you skipped it across the water”. In the desert regions of New Mexico, electrical storms are not uncommon and one occurred on the night of the 2nd July. The next day, a rancher who lived 75 miles away from Roswell near Corona named William ‘Mac’ Brazel discovered something extremely unusual. He found a crash site with strange wreckage, laying in the direction of Socorro to the West, that didn’t conform with a normal plane type aircraft. The material of the craft was like nothing he had ever seen before. It was thin and had a foil like metallic nature however it was impossible to bend, dent or burn. It also seemed to be covered in patterns that resembled Greek-like hieroglyphics and a floral type pattern.

The day after his discovery, Brazel went into Roswell town to see the Sheriff George Wilcox who in turn, contacted the Army Air Force Base. A local radio news reporter named Johnny McBoyle had his transmission stopped by the authorities after he had spoken to Brazel about what he has witnessed. In an attempt to get the news story out, he messaged the larger radio station KOAT in Albuquerque however this message was intercepted.
Despite managing to keep the radio news quiet, the local newspaper did manage to run a front page story with the ‘Roswell Daily Record’ running the headline ‘RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell’. The military cordoned off Brazel’s ranch and removed the debris. Brazel himself was questioned and interrogated at the Air Base rigorously.

This type of official press release from the military was unprecedented and was quickly modified and amended. Lt. Haut claimed that he had cleared the release with his commanding officer - Colonel

William Blanchard. Whatever the truth, Lt. Haut resigned his commission in the following year and Colonel Blanchard went on to become a General.
With the wreckage now collected from Brazel’s ranch, it was flown to Texas Fort Worth. It was here in which a press conference was called to announce the wreckage of that of a weather balloon. It was then allowed for reporters to take photos of the debris from a distance, and then a second photographic opportunity at a closer range. However, the real debris (extraterrestrial or not) had by now been transferred to Wright Field Air Force Base, replaced by actual weather balloon wreckage. The biggest contradiction to the story of it being a weather balloon however, was the fact Major Marcel being a trained and experienced observer who’s base sent up two of these every day, not identifying it as such when he first witnessed it. Furthermore, he did not recognise the strange markings and hieroglyphics on the unbendable metal material which had little weight. The son of William ‘Mac’ Brazel, Bill Brazel, also contradicted this official story. And when he mentioned in a local bar that he had kept three pieces of the debris hidden away, he was visited by military personal and had these items confiscated. Should it have just been a normal, weather balloon, this level of security would not have been needed due to the unremarkable materials that make up a weather balloon.
Following up the incident of the crashed craft discovered by Brazel, there was another strange account brought forward. A civil engineer named Barney Barnett who worked in the area named the Plains of San Augustin, on the morning on July 3rd, found ‘some sort of metallic disc shaped object’ crashed into the ground. Barnett reported the craft as being around 30 feet in diameter and also being cracked open as a result of its impact with the ground. Inside and around the craft, he accounted dead, humanoid creatures the size of children. They had oversized heads, small eyes, no hair and simple grey, one piece suits. Although this claim and testimony may sound far fetched and open to ridicule, what makes it intriguing is that he was allegedly joined by a multiple of other witnesses. A group of students, who were from the University of Pennsylvania studying archaeology, were carrying out an archaeological dig in the area also supposedly witnessed the crashed UFO. In addition, the undertaker in Roswell, Glenn Dennis, claims that he received a number of phone calls from the Air Base enquiring about the complexities of body preservation in ice and then receiving an order for four, child size coffins. Furthermore another witness, a military nurse at the Air Base, claims to have seen autopsy reports on alien bodies.

It is of course a possibility that it was actually a type of experimental US Air Force craft, of which there would be many in the coming years. In recent years, an enquiry by New Mexico’s Congressman Steven Schiff received a possible explanation from the US Air Force. This was that the debris may have been a high altitude balloon used in ‘Project Mogul’ to detect Soviet nuclear tests. Whatever occurred in New Mexico, Roswell in early July has been and still will be, long debated.

Over ten years prior to the Phoenix lights incident, the Hudson Valley UFO sightings took place. This is important to mention due to the striking similarities between each cases, in terms of the UFO craft shape, size and how it manoeuvred. In March 1983, thousands of witnesses including police officers, reported the sighting of a huge flying craft in the Hudson Valley area. Their description of which, was a triangular shape as large as a football field, a dark grey colour, bright lights and silent as it hovered and flew at a low height. In addition, another event about a similar triangular craft being observed over the Royal Air Force Base at Cosford, United Kingdom, was reported by hundreds of witnesses in 1993. On March 13th 1997, another similar incident occurred in Arizona Phoenix. It was around 8:00pm in the evening when a series of large, silent air craft’s were reported gliding overhead. Thousands of people witnessed various crafts and reported these to the police department and the Luke Air Force base. Most reports stated that the craft was extremely low in the sky and that it was a solid object as it blocked the stars behind it from view from the witnesses on the ground. In some cases, a multiple of reports stated that one of the craft’s could have been anything up to a mile long. It passed over roads and even a local mini league baseball game, which was stopped as the stunned participants and watching parents witnessed the craft pass silently overhead at a low height. Although it is difficult to ascertain just how many crafts were seen in that March evening, the excessive evidence of the witness testimonies suggest it was a multiple of crafts all moving at various speeds from motionless to rapid acceleration from one area to another. The Arizona Governor of the time, Fife Symington, initially ridiculed the idea of an extraterrestrial craft. He joked about this during a press conference but also mentioned that he had made enquires with the commander at Luke Air Force Base but had not yet learnt anything to explain the thousands of witness reports. 41

Fife Symington himself was a Harvard graduate and a decorated Air Force veteran of Vietnam before serving as the Republican Governor in 1991 and then being re-elected in 1994. Later on when no longer in office, Symington also reported that he too had seen one of the strange crafts in the sky, “I saw a huge craft just come right over Squaw Peak. It was breathtaking”. He also stated, due to the rise in the idea of it being militrary flares, “and it couldn’t have been flares because it was too symmetrical. It had a geometric outline, a constant shape.” A video surfaced of the supposed event. It featured a row of lights hanging in a V formation type row in the sky. They then gradually fade and drop away. Upon analysis however, it was proven that this particular video was not of the strange crafts seen by the people of Phoenix. This video coincided with the 10:00pm military training exercise of dropping LUU2 flares and was almost certainly that of which was recorded. It could be argued that people just mistakenly took these flares for some type of air craft, however it is important to look at the times of the sightings, 8:00pm and the military exercise beginning at 10:00pm. The reports of witnessing a solid craft also counter the idea of people seeing flares. An event which occurred in 1951 had striking similarities. On August 25th, a group of scientists from Texas Technical College were with geology professor Dr W. Robinson , chemical engineering professor Dr A. Oberg, physics professor Dr Gerogie and head of the petroleum engineering department Dr. W. Ducker.

For around 5 minutes, on the date November 7th 2006, a disc shaped flying craft appeared and hovered over the United Airlines terminal before accelerating off, leaving a cut ‘hole’ in the above cloud bank. It had been a ordinary day at O’Hare airport. There was slight overcast with around 4 miles visibility and the wind at 4 knots. Between 4:00pm - 4:30pm, it was first noticed by mechanics, pilots and managers, a strange metallic object hovering under the cloud bank, over Gate C17 at the United terminal. Witness reports state and correlate that the disc was about the size of a quarter half dollar when held at arm’s length. Through Working out the mathematical equivalent using the estimated distance of the craft, it is believed the object measured in the vicinity 22 to 88 feet in diameter. Initially, a pilot reported the sighting over inbound radio for all grounded planes. Mechanics and pilots on the ground waiting to take off looked up to view the strange object for themselves. A United Airlines manager was informed of the unusual craft and headed outside to see it for himself. Upon confirming that an unidentified flying object really was in the airspace above the airport, he then called United Operations Centre and informed the FAA which stands for the Federal Aviation Administration, who are the department who monitor and control all aviation related matters. After between 5-15 minutes of the craft remaining above the United Airlines terminal, the hovering disc accelerated up at an impossible speed leaving a cut hole through the above cloud bank, allowing viewers on the ground to see the blue sky on the other side. The FAA and United Airlines both did initially deny having any information or knowledge about the incident occurring, however when a tape recording of a United supervisor’s call to the air traffic control tower was released, they had to acknowledge the event took place and that they were aware of it.

The positioning of the disc above them is not within their visual field from the tower’s glass window, due to the roof overhang creating a blind spot for the air traffic control personnel who cannot look directly upwards to also see the craft.

In addition to them being unable to see the object, it was also not picked up on radar. This maybe due to some type of stealth capability of the craft, or another explanation is that at the time of the incident, airport radars did not have the ability to pick up stationary or high speed objects. Behaviours of which the craft did demonstrate by hovering in place above the terminal and then rapidly accelerating . The original photograph of the disc that was mentioned by the supervisor Sue in the transcript, has never been located.

Rendlesham Forest is located in the county of Suffolk, England, between the rivers Deben and Alde. It was home to the RAF Woodbridge Base, a joint Royal Air Force and United States Air Force NATO facility during the cold war years with Russia. On the morning of the 27th, two security personal were carrying out their routine work of patrolling the perimeter around the base. Whilst performing this normal, mundane duty, they suddenly witnessed some unusual bright lights within the trees of the forest. Deciding to further investigate this, they ventured into the trees until they reached a clearing. It was here they found a strange object, a type of triangular, metallic craft unlike anything they had ever seen before.

Later on in the week, the strange lights returned and a larger team of personal including Lt-Col Charles Halt went to investigate. Their experience was tape recorded and available for the public to listen to. The eighteen minute tape records the strange experiences of the group of army personal. Initially, the equipment brought by Halt and his men, such as flood lights and their radios, behaved oddly and some ceased to work at all. Advancing deeper into the forest, a strange flashing, red light was seen moving between the trees. The rapidly moving light then seemed to explode and separate into several smaller pieces before disappearing completely. These objects reappeared in the night sky that gave off red, green and blue lights. They were visible for around two to three hours, beaming down flashes of light intermittently towards the ground. Further military personal not with Lt-Col Halt also witnessed strange occurrences of lights throughout the night. About a mile away, Airman J. Burroughs was repairing malfunctioning lights when a blue light streaked past him at what seemed impossibly high speeds to be something like a vehicle. This caused the lights he was repairing to all come back on until the light passed into the distance at which point the lights went back off.

In the following days since the incident, planes carrying high ranking American Air Force officials flew in with teams of experts. They collected data, probably including the video footage as this also disappeared at this time.
It has been suggested that a lighthouse nearby could have been the cause of all the strange lights moving in the forest, however this does not correlate with what the witness’s said they saw and how the object behaved.

Aerial School was constructed in the year 1991, located in the Southern part of Africa of Zimbabwe, in the town of Ruwa. This town is a small rural community made up from many homesteads and farmlands. Students at the school were comprised of a broad mix of ethnic backgrounds, such as children from local tribes, towns and also European immigrants On September 16th 1994, the pupils of the school were all out playing in the playground. A large crowd of children suddenly gathered at the Eastern edge, where trees and plains stretched out into the distance. A child named Luke approaches one of his teacher’s and informs them of a confusing statement about a tiny man in a black shiny suit, with large eyes and a silver lace tied around his forehead. The teacher disregards this as simply a child’s imagination, however more and more children begin heading towards her, visually upset - crying or wide eyed in shock. More stories of a craft landing, strange lifeforms are heard from them. The headmaster, Colin Mackie learns of this incident and consoles upset children. He arranges for a group of some sixty pupils to all draw what it is they claim to have seen in order for him to get to the bottom of the situation, believing it was some type of vehicle such as a helicopter. He is stunned when the children start independently handing their drawings in to the teachers. Clearly UFO crafts and alien life forms are depicted repeatedly. The children all maintain this story to their parents when they are picked up. One child named Salma, tells her mother about the incident she experienced with her friend Emma and how it felt like time had been ‘squished’. All the children who say they witnessed the craft and strange beings back in 1994 still to this day stick by their story and claim it’s validity. The validity of the eye witnesses being children could be questioned, as the assumption that they would be more prone to make up, imagine and exaggerate certain aspects. This is a possibly explanation, but it still raises the question of why and how a group of relatively young children would suddenly make up this story and independently draw similar depictions of the event.

The subject of whether UFO’s exist or not, opens up further questions on the existence of extraterrestrial beings. Should evidence of a UFO be proven to be capable of feats not currently possible in a technological sense by humans, then an advanced culture would of had to have created such a machine. If such beings did exist, would we see any evidence of their existence on earth? If the phenomenon of UFO’s is true, then it would be expected that these crafts have been in existence not just in recent history, but throughout the past. Supporting this theory, we find several instances in history which seem to point to people witnessing something not of this world. If our ancestors did witness such as a thing as a strange object in the sky or an extraterrestrial life form itself, how would they interpret this and depict it? The ancient alien theory suggests that these experiences could have been misinterpreted as Gods or divine beings. We see similarities across the globe in the stories told by ancient cultures, for example many North American Indian tribes attribute their existence to the ‘Star People’ who inverted knowledge upon them. Similar stories are heard in South America, Africa and Australia. The Mayan people believed the Pleiades star system was the ancestral home of their ancestors and in their language, refer to the star system as ‘seeds’ - the source of things. Similarly, across the world in Australia, the aboriginal people base their culture religious beliefs on their ‘Sky Heroes’. A belief among the aboriginal people is that the Pleiades star system is the location of their ancestors and where they come from. In Africa, we still see today, cultures which claim they are descended from the Pleiades. The Sumerians are one of the earliest known civilisations - 4000bc. What is intriguing about their culture is their advancement in technological means and high intelligence. They accurately depicted the solar system in a carving with all the planets including ones not visible with the naked eye. How they managed to achieve these feats open up the question on whether or not knowledge was imparted upon them from a more intelligent race. 63

Back in 1803 in Hitachi on the Eastern coast of Japan, several fisherman reported an unusual craft washed up on the shoreline. The vessel or craft was described as circular and hollow. The materials of which were strange metals and glass with cryptic figures, unusual markings and symbols inscribed upon the hull. Further reports from the fisherman state a figure, they believed to be a woman, emerged from the craft holding some type of box. She could not speak Japanese or any language that the fisherman knew of.

UFO sightings are very often thought as modern phenomenonia, occurring within the last one hundred years or so, however the ‘battle of Nuremberg’ is an example of a strange, unexplainable event that occurred on April 14th 1561. The people of the city of Nuremberg

in Germany awoke on the morning of April 14th to a huge aerial battle occurring over their homes. The event was depicted in the above broadsheet, which is the equivalent of a 16th century newspaper. Interestingly, the depiction of the event is extremely similar to a
sighting in Basel, Switzerland 1566 as shown above where an aerial battle also occurred. Interpreting what they were seeing as a sign from God, witnesses used religious imagery to explain the strange objects in the sky such as the cross shape understood as a crucifix.

In the vast majority of cases, UFO sightings are simply mistaken weather phenomenon, human made air crafts or other natural causes such as birds or distant planets in the night sky. Where these instances make up 95% of the reported sightings, there are still UFO’s of which have no reasonable explanation. What makes these cases intriguing is the validity and credbility of the eye witness themselves. As this case file has demonstrated, many military captains, generals and government officials have all gone on record to state that they have truly seen something not of this world in terms of the technological capability. When trained pilots with multiple years of flying experience, who’s very job it is to identify air phenomenon and are trusted with aircraft such as the F/A Super Hornet costing $70 million per plane, are the ones to report UFO’s out performing our best aircraft, we should be taking these reports seriously and carry out further investigation into what they are and why they are here. 71
