Here’s an easy recipe to get you started:
INGREDIENTS:
• 2 lbs. ground turkey
• 1 cup brown rice
• 1 cup chopped carrots
• 1 cup chopped green beans
• 1 cup chopped sweet potato
• 4 cups water
• 2 tbsp. olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, stirring occasionally.
Add the brown rice, chopped carrots, green beans, sweet potato and water to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice and vegetables are tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
Allow the mixture to cool, then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
This recipe makes a large batch, so you can freeze it in smaller portions and thaw as needed. You can also adjust the ingredients based on your dog’s preferences and nutritional needs.
Making your own dog food is a great way to ensure that your furry friend is getting high-quality nutrition. By choosing fresh, whole ingredients and avoiding artificial additives, you can help prevent health problems and support your dog’s overall health and well-being.
