Beauty Queen Hannah Mire

Julie and Ricky Mire of Kenner are the incredibly proud parents of a miracle beauty: Hannah Mae

Mire. The miracle of life and the beauty that lies within every child is channeled through the Mire’s dedication and determination. They explain, “Our daughter is a fun-loving child, and our passion is to make life a little more enjoyable for her and all children with special needs.” In June, 2015, the Mires created a non-profit event called Miracle Beauties. This non-competitive beauty pageant, staged recently at the Landmark Hotel in Metairie, is designed to create positive reinforcement, friendship, and confidence for girls with special needs. According to the Mires, as a result of participating in the pageant, “The girls are becoming more comfortable on stage and wanting to sing and dance.”

The pageant is free for contestants and afterward each receives a crown, sash, trophy, and roses. The Mire’s plan to expand the pageant in 2017 includes more guests, special appearances, and fund-raisers throughout the year to help with costs.

Hannah Mae Mire is a Miracle Beauty who is blessed with dedicated parents willing to do whatever it takes to see her smile, “Seeing our daughter and all the girls treated like beauty queens is what keeps us motivated to make Miracle Beauties bigger and better every year!”
