A DISAPPOINTING LOVE STORY IN PANDEMIC

> MIRTA FOTIA

It was an autumn day when Joseph and Katy were in a hotel in Rome, Italy. They didn't need luxury to be happy. They took pleasure together, they seemed to be happy together and they didn't look back with anger. Suddenly, the pandemic surprised them and they had

to return and be together before the situation got complicated: if the airport closed, they couldn't come back.

As soon as the night came, Katy deci-

ded not to come back to Argentina. Joseph

wanted to do it. Why? Perhaps someone was waiting for him. Who was that person? Four hours later Joseph took the flight 505 to Bs As. Meanwhile, Katy stayed in Rome, alone and sad. They didn´t know if they would see each other again. After a week, she thought a lot about what she was going to do. She felt lonely,

anxious and desperate, so she decided to take

a flight to Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, the government had decided to do that in order to prevent the virus, covid 19, circulation. She asked her mother for help, to her friends.Nobody could help her. The situation got worse.

“If the circulation of the virus increases, I will

not be able to leave Italy” she thought. While she was walking to the hotel, her italian friend, Filippo was waiting for her with a ticket in his hand. Katy was fortunate. The dream of meeting Joseph was near. After all, she could travel. During the journey she thought about the moment when she would meet Joseph .She thought about that moment, she didn't want to lose the love of her life. Finally, she arrived in Argentina. She was fearful about the situation and she felt more and more anguish. She didn't know how she had arrived at 343 Mexico Street. With great expectation, she knocked on the door. Sudden-

ly, who opened the door was a 6-year-old girl. Immediately, a woman, and behind her, Joseph came. Katy understood everything in a second and ran away without saying a word.

VENETIAN LOVERS

> JULIETA BERTONE

Once upon a time, in a little town near

Venice, called Murano, a beautiful girl named

Sara was born. Her parents had died in an accident when she was two years old. So, she grew

up with her grandparents, grandma Maddalena and grandpa Tulio, in a small house near the river.

When she finished school, grandpa Tulio found her a job in a small café located in the city centre. Unfortunately, since she was a little girl,

she had dreamt of studying at university to become a fashion assistant but her grandparents didn’t have enough money to pay her studies so she had to work twelve hours a day at Mirano café.

One day, Sara’s boss told her to go to the venetian café store to replace another employee who was ill. At that moment, Sara got a boat and went to Venice. She was happy to go there because there were many tourists from different parts of the world and the most important clothes stores. Later, at the café, she saw a beautiful man; he looked like a millionaire. He had wonderful green eyes and short dark hair. He was very tall. She took his order and gave him the most special coffee of the store. He

smiled at her every time she went to his table.

After three days, the pretty stranger had

visited the café every day. He had talked to Sara, and told her to date the following day after

work. She obviously accepted. She was very happy about the date. That night, when she finished her job, her boss told her that she had to go back to Murano’s Cafe the next day because it was Mirano’s town party and there were a lot of tourists waiting for their coffees. She set off crying to take her boat back to Mirano. She was

so sad, because she hadn’t given her crush her address or telephone number to explain to him

what had happened either. Apart from that, she didn’t have money to come back the following night to Venice. Once again, her lack of money left her out of the game. Next day, she went to work so sad, she couldn't stop thinking about the beautiful tourist.

On Sunday, it was Sara's birthday so her grandparents gave her some money as a gift to go to Venice to celebrate her birthday because they

knew she really liked that place. After a little birthday lunch with her grandparents, she left Mirano. She was really happy hoping to find her crush.

When she arrived in Venice, she ran to the café, itching to find the beautiful tourist but

when she arrived he wasn't there. She asked her Venetian boss if he knew where the pretty tourist was but he didn't have any idea. So, she went for a walk to the city centre. She enjoyed the walk but she was still sad because she thought she wouldn't see the handsome gentleman again. Finally, back in Mirano, it was another boring day at work for Sara. She was cleaning the floor when she noticed a beautiful perfume was entering the café, so she put her head up and saw the tourist. He smiled at her. After that,

he told her that his name was Eric and he came

from England. He confessed he had asked her boss where she was and as soon as he could, he ran to Mirano to see her. After a few months dating, Sara and Eric

got married. He paid her the university and, later, she became a fashion assistant. Now, she lives happily in Venice and with Eric.

BEFORE THE CLASH OF SWORDS

> MARISOL LAVILLA

Once upon a time, in an unknown and magical land something unforgiven happened. Before the winter war, between the fairies and

the creatures of the night, there was a tale that said that two lost souls from opposite sides found love before the massacre, and that there, they fought against their people in order to keep their endless love.

No one saw them, of course, there was no soldier left alive after that cold bloodbath. We remember them as the power of resistance that knocked down the walls of hate and resentment between species to bring the peace that us, the survivors, always have dreamed of. Two sides of the same coin, same fight and same goal. Different motivations. Or, as people describe them. On the one hand, she was

the light and the promise of a gentle woman, beneath that she was brave and ruthless like the

wildest animal. They called her Maelle, protectress of her land, who fought for the balance between their kind and their enemies. The only one who believed in the union between fairies and creatures of the shadows. On the other hand,

she was the night and the promise of destruction, but she was lonely and scared of never

seeing the light of the Sun again. No one knew her, nor did she had any friends who could keep her legacy. Time gave her the name of Khoeli.

Maelle discovered the night before

finding the clash of their swords. On the other flank, she was waiting to strike against her. Her amber eyes were glowing like stars with the adrenalin of combat, dark hair and pale skin stood out from the armed crowd. The only one who caught her attention. She was beautiful like the full moon that winter night. Some said that the moment Koeli laid

her eyes in the ones that were seeking her from afar, the history of our worlds changed dramatically and life would never be the same again.

Then, they decided they would no longer spread

blood for foolish reasons. Together they would be the first ones in history to find love in the

middle of destruction, and they would be the first of many more to come.

Without hesitation, they rose from between swords and shields to call for truce and redemption. The most feared warriors lowered

their weapons at a slow pace, surrendering to the idea of the dream world that could come true, once the hatred was extinguished. On the

battlefield, light and shadow become one, no longer extremes of the same spectrum, but

parts of the same element that cannot exist without the other and that are destined to be together for eternity.

So they were, together for the end of times, nobody could deny that their very exis-

tence was destined to restore the balance and that their love was the one who healed the world.

A LOVE STORY

> MILAGROS AIETA

I was in my office when I got a call from the Airline saying there was a last minute

flight. I am a stewardess, oh and I am Vanes-

sa, I am twenty years old. Then, I got a call

from my parents reminding me of the costu-

me party I had to attend that night, to which people of very high level would go. I took my important things like my cell phone and my agenda and went to my airline.

After the flight, I got home very tired but I took a shower and put on my angel cos-

tume to go to the party. My parents also wanted to introduce me to the son of some friends, who was a businessman and travelled like me. They always care more about me

dating someone on my level than my happi-

ness. I refused to talk to that boy. I never cared what my parents said. They were good people and they helped me a lot, but if it was connected to business, they didn't care about anything or anyone, just looking good. The party was private, not only because of the level, but also because they had a conflict with a family: they had had problems with them and they were also poor, of course. The party was boring and pure blackmailing.

There were only rich people who believed they were good people because of their money,

including my parents. So, I decided to go to

the bathroom. But in the hallway... I saw a boy, he was very cute. He was blond, tall, and with very blue eyes, in some kind of armor, but he was washing his face and I just saw him.

We looked at each other as if we had known

each other forever... until my mother came to tell me that the boy who wanted to introduce me had arrived. She looked at him very badly, as if she already knew him. I went with my mother, but halfway there I ran to find the boy.

I wanted to know who he was, where he came from and why he acted as if he had to hide

from someone. I turned around because I felt that someone wanted to grab my hand... And it was him. He told me his name was Noah

and he told me some poetry which seemed strange to me since we were in 2020.

Everything was very normal until he took me to a secret and very special place that he had. There, he told me that he knew me, that he had always been in love with me

and that that had been one of the reasons

why our parents had had an argument. I was frozen by everything he told me and I couldn't

believe my parents were like that just becau-

se his family was humble. Our relatives were partners, but as my grandparents did not agree with them, they moved.

It had been over two months since I

started dating Noah, unknown by my parents, of course. It was easy for me, because I didn't see them much so I told them I had a lot of flights to do. A year passed and they did not accept my relationship but they sent me super cute messages. Suddenly, one message was different. They were asking me if they could see me and I said yes. When I saw my parents, I hugged them and we sat down to talk, they said they had something very important to tell me: They had settled their

differences with Noah's family just because

of my happiness, what's more... My dad was going sailing with his dad at weekends. It was what I needed to hear, my boyfriend was very happy too, we were about to live together in a house. He promised me that

he would build a house for us and that was what he was doing. Everything was fine and above all, we were very happy.

The owner, a young clergyman, took pity on her. Jane made friends and enjoyed her new work, teaching at a Village school for girls. Jane enjoyed her work but she dreamt

It was Christmas’ time, she heard Mr.
