Beyond money: making funding plus work The practice of funding plus – providing additional support alongside grants – is increasingly common amongst larger trusts and foundations. However, relatively little has been written about funding plus in practice and the theory behind it. In this presentation Ben Cairns will share the learning for funders that has been drawn out by IVAR’s extensive research in this area. Key aspects to be explored will include: types of support and other additional input; what funders need to have in place to do it well; risks and challenges; and the benefits and advantages for both funders and grantees.
