Line as reference
What I saw When I looked at the ruff shading lines, I felt there’s some kind of madness and freedom.
Changing the roles between the elements I took Seuss’ busy lines then I integrated them into busy and chaotic patterns with primary colors.

Without knowing the naive characters of Seuss’ The lines seem free and reckless. I felt something of them, then I exaggerated the isolated lines.
Then I played only with the lines. They feel aggressive to me. What do you think?

I see things as... In the book ‘Process’ I found the cloud problems which was make imagination with drawings just by seeing the clouds. I took some photos around and started to draw to be more imaginative. I am taking pictures of the things that also look like something else. I’ll make a project of it later for fun.
Getting shapes from landscapes In history class, I learned that Russian Constructivism often used ariel view to make minimalistic or abstract shape. What if I use them as design; making rhythmical shapes or patterns?

In Tina’s class, I focused on how to make things dumb, bad and fun intentionally.both visually and conceptually at the same time. Although this work contains the ugliness, I am suprised that she liked my work.
Insu Chae is a student who is currently at the School of Visual Arts New York. Since he wants to be independent, he began to publish his own books. Two years later he became the National Worst Selling Author. He is currently bankrupt and looking for angel investors to help him out financially....

Break time in a book(Integration of the other senses)
What could give ‘break’ to the viewers when they read a book? I thought of natural green photos with fresh scent. So I applied fragrance into my book without any advertisement. I got the idea from the men’s fragrance advertisement in Men’s Health. Magazine
I believe that the creativity often comes out from the limitation. What if the designer have to make something without using any visual sense? Something interesting will come out!
But...! applying the smell could be risky because some people might not like it. So... Do the right thing for the right moment.
Unsucessful Projects I burnt them.
Many design students often underestimate the power of the written text by hand. I am still training how to use the right medium for the right moment. I believe it is also necessary to train hands than cool techniques.
Make things under limited conditions Sometimes I enjoy working with a certain limitations like using only five colors, a shape from the references to make something fresh.
Works that I did in Frank’s class. Used only one shape out from the image.

Concept: The visual book of well tempered clavier by Bach. Description: Like you have seen in the previous pages, I will work on the sound problem in type. Well tempered clavier has two books with 48 different songs. I am planning to make each spread for a song. Expected date of release 2016 Spring
Upcoming Projects Some ideas could not be shown to the public because I needed more time and contents to make them into real. Here are the concept might be the ones for the next project.
Concept: Digital Collage work book Decription: In drawing class, I was meant to make a book made out from the collages that I did in class. But I had a problem. Since I was focused more on painting medium on collage, my work could only show that I can paint. So I decided to work again on digital and I personally think that it came out successfully. I am planning to work just to learn and have fun! Expected date of release 2015 Fall
Concept: The book of children’s quotes Description: It is sweet and sometimes a lot to learn from the children. What if there is a book with what children say about things? It would be interesting! Expected date of release: 2015 Fall
Concept: The art history/graphic magazine for dyslexias. Description: I am planning to publish my own concept magazine that I did in Gail Anderson’s type class. I came out with the idea that people in my generation have tendency to read less. As a design student, I believe that I could solve the problem. Expected date of release: 2015 Fall
