COLORCUT FLATBEDS ‘CUT THE MUSTARD’ AT SIGN & DIGITAL Intec saw huge interest in the ColorCut flatbed range when supporting Colourgen at Sign & Digital UK earlier this month. Sign & Digital UK was held at the NEC, Birmingham, and brought together a wide spectrum of the UK’s graphic arts sector, including; signage, print, display, décor and design. “The ColorCut flatbed range appealed to almost every sector,” commented Mark Baker-Homes, Intec’s director of new business development. “We know the flatbed range, which comprises four models, offers an

extremely attractive and affordable proposition to the traditional and digital print sector, but I was amazed and delighted to experience the interest on the stand from a much broader audience! The affordability of the range is one of the initial benefits that draws interest, but delegates soon appreciate the many ease of use and the many features within the machine. Features such as; dual tooling for same-time creasing and cutting of up to 600 micron materials, being totally digital - so no more waiting around for costly dies, and an on-board sensor which accurately follows vector lines, are just a few of them. I was delighted to see the interest generated in ColorCut at Sign & Digital, it really did ‘cut the mustard’ when put to the test.”

Getting the ColorCut FB900 ready for the show

HUGE INTEREST AT PRINT & PACK TECH INDIA Intec were proud to support our distributor in India as they in turn supported their authorised dealer for Karnataka state KMI Nuetech at the Print & Pack Tech exhibition in Bengaluru. With over 28,000 people attending last years exhibition KMI Nuetech produced one of the largest and most visited stands in the exhibition with customers able to view the exciting Intec range including the new FB600, ColorCut 500 and the best selling CP3000 printer. At times it was difficult to see any of the products due to the incredible amount of people trying to see how they can add value using the exciting applications offered by the Intec range. Supported by a team from Intec Point the Intec distributor for India, KMI Nuetech not only sold all of the

products on display but took many more orders to make this one of the most successful shows this year. Intec Printing Solutions sales director Kerry Button attended the show for 2 days spending time with the Intec team and many customers.

India. This market is growing very fast for us and has the potential to make a substantial impact on our global success so we are keen to do all we can to support our team here in India.”

“ I have nothing but admiration for our team here, so professional and hard working a great asset for us in

A brief moment when the crowds had thinned and the stand was more visible!

NETHERLANDS DEALER INSTALLS COLORCUT FLATBED FOR HIGH STREET PRINT SHOP

Rotagraphic, our recently appointed Intec dealer for the Netherlands, has made a great start by installing a ColorCut flatbed cutter within just a few weeks of coming on stream!

‘t Drukkerytje has a street location in the busy city centre of De Panne, Belgium

Jacco de Vries, sales manager for Rotagraphic, has been with the company since 1996 and is trained as a business and graphics technology expert. Rotagraphic are a highly professional print equipment and services supply company that has been seeking suitable digital printing and finishing solutions to help complement their current offerings. Intec niché products hold great appeal Having been made aware of Intec Printing Solutions, Rotagraphic could see a very good fit for their business, and after visiting the Intec UK headquarters, were convinced that virtually the whole range of solutions would help Rotagraphic fulfil a growing number of their niché markets. They decided to take the ColorSplash, ColorFlare and ColorCut ranges - and subsequently came over to the Poole showroom for full training on all systems. Within a week or so of their training, they had sold their first Intec flatbed cutter - a ColorCut FB600, to a Belgian print shop called, ‘t Drukkerytje. ’t Drukkerytje is located in ‘De Panne’, a city on the North Sea coast (well known for its amusement park ‘Plopsaland’). The company’s print shop is located in one of the busiest streets of the city centre and works for many regional customers. The owner, Mrs, Eline De Poorter, is well known for her creative design work - examples of which can be seen on their website here: http://tdrukkerytje.be/ ColorCut flatbeds, the perfect choice Jacco commented, “‘t Drukkerytje intend to produce their own designed greetings

cards for births, christenings and funerals - as well as short-run packaging for corporate business, family occasions and the wedding market.” Probably the best flatbed cutters - ever! ColorCut flatbed cutters are incredibly affordable and the range currently offers a choice of four models. With dual tool functionality, the flatbed will crease and cut simultaneously, and to absolutely any shape! The vacuum hold-down table safely secures the sheets (up to four SRA3 for batch work on the FB1060), and the sensor guides the plotting head perfectly along the vector path, via ColorCut Pro. Optional barcode software, SignMaster Pro, is also available for use with the flatbed cutters. With creasing and cutting up to 600 micron card and films, finishing has never been easier - or more affordable.

INTEC CP3000 PAKISTAN INSTALLATION Well done to KHI Electronics, our recently appointed Pakistan dealers, for making their first installation. ALI Graphics & Printers chose an Intec CP3000, renowned for its superb colour fidelity and sharp imaging qualities. This flexible printer can cope with a wide range of graphic arts requirements. Its media handling capabilities and low running costs make it the perfect choice for today’s professional print shop.

Here at Intec, we’ve found that when our customers want to trouble-shoot, or improve their knowledge of our products, they often tend to call or email us and start off with: “Hey Mark, can you advise me on XYZ etc…?” We thought we’d share some of these little nuggets of knowledge with you, in this new feature which we’ve entitled: “HEY MARK! We hope you enjoy…

“Hey Mark, can you recommend a holographic film to run on our ColorFlare, please? We’re printing a series of post cards and want to add extra value to them - we want a WOW factor. Thanks in advance…”

ALI Graphics & Printers, beside their newly purchased CP3000PRO, supplied by KHI Electronics, Pakistan

Sure. Here’s what I suggest: Holographic effects display differently from image to image, but a fairly safe bet would be ‘Crystal’. This shows a pattern of shattered, coloured shards, which reflects multi-colours as the plane of the post card is shifted in the light. Very eye-catching. What with the ultra-gloss finish, I think this would add the wow factor you are seeking. We feature the Crystal holographic film in a video here: https://youtu.be/cVMhYdypIsk Best wishes, Mark.

Intec USA were delighted to exhibit at the ACUP+ conference at the start of this month, signifying the start of a potentially lucrative new relationship with educational in-plant departments.

My career prior to Intec Printing Solutions was in mortgage banking, primarily sales and marketing. As my career progresses, I am happy to become a member of the Intec USA team!”

ENSURE YOU MAKE A DIARY DATE TO SEE US AT PRINT® 18

One of Intec USA’s objectives this year is to target certain vertical markets such as universities, health care facilities and insurance companies – all have in-plants. ACUP+ is an association for universities throughout America and maintains a presence in the world of educational inplant print and mail operations year round. The association is dedicated to offering learning tools, consultation, and interaction and serving educational institutions. “The conference went very well,” said Intec C.O.O. Michael Sparbeck, “and it looks like we’ll sell a few CC500s, ColorFlare, CS4600XF and CS5000XF. Most importantly, we are now in a position to build relationships with those universities that are members, and make their in-plants aware of how the full range of Intec’s printing solutions can help improve their productivity and creativity.
