Attending the largest label and packaging show in Europe, brought fruitful encounters for Intec - engaging with many new customers and prospective distributors. Labelexpo Europe, enabled Intec to showcase its established label printing and finishing equipment, with new generation features and launch its new range of ColorCut Flatbed folding carton and packaging cutter creasers. A successful show that will foster new business opportunities for our partners. Terri Winstanley Marketing and PR manager
Intec attended the Print Show for the third year running with the biggest stand space to date. Front and centre were the new flatbed cutters which certainly drew attention with multiple sales right off the stand, one customer even wanted to take the demonstration unit! Needless to say we experienced very strong interest in our five colour printers, label printing system and the record breaking CC500 contour label cutters leading to a raft of after show sales. Success for INTEC USA
Print ’17 was a huge success, with many companies attending from around the world. In addition to the Americas, people visited the booth from Russia, China and India to name a few!
Intec displayed its complete digital line-up - with the main focus being ColorCut 500, the new Flatbed cutters and ColorFlare.
Michael Sparbeck, Intec USA COO, ready for action on the Intec stand at Print '17
In fact, Intec USA completely sold out of ColorCut 500s and are on a backorder situation with the FB520. As always, the ColorFlare was a scene-stealer, with its impressive metallic flaring output. The venue was a great staging area for established partners to see the new systems - and it was good for the team to catch up with long-time partners and meet prospective new partners. Intec's global strength was further established with new partner agreements for both Canada and Latin America.
Intec competed with the world's leaders and grabbed more than its fair share of the market!

Maternity unit completed: Now we'd like to bring clean water to an African village…
Thanks to the contributions passed on from every Intec consumable purchased over the past three years, Intec and our customers, have played a major role in building the new maternity unit in Burkina Faso, which is now open and saving lives. We're now ready for the next project… ■ Every year, over 4,000 children in Uganda die from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
✗
■ 88% of cases of diarrhoeal disease can be prevented with the use of safe drinking water and improved hygiene and sanitation. ■ Women and girls spend up to 4 hours a day collecting water
■ 65% of Ugandans have no toilet in or around their homes ■ improving access to water and sanitation facilities, families will be released from the burden of water-borne disease and enabled to invest their time in their futures. In turn, this will improve education, livelihoods, income, gender equality and many other aspects of family life.
✓
Supporting a new charitable project Danny Morris, of the charity, International Needs, came to Intec to present the poor water and sanitation situation in Uganda, we have now opted to direct our continued support at this highly deserving project. Our support will help families who are suffering with preventable sickness and disease by helping fund International Needs to work with the villages affected, to recognise their sanitation challenges and work to combat them. A statistical challenge! Uganda is ranked as one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with a life expectancy of 59 years and poverty headcount of 20%. The charity will work village-by-village to bring an holistic Water Project to the 54 villages in Buikwe Town Council and Najjembe Sub-County.
Each village has approximately 1,000 people from 250 families. The majority of these families are subsistence farmers in rural areas. They have low incomes and struggle with basic costs such as sending their children to school. Their homes are mostly made from mud bricks and iron sheet roofs. Many families don’t have toilets and washrooms, and travel long distances to collect clean water. Intec's new charitable focus Intec has committed to support one of these 54 villages - and the overall longterm plan is to not only provide a fresh water bore hole and well in the village, a purpose-built latrine with drainage, washing facilities and waste disposal facility - but also to provide ongoing training and education on sanitation for all village families. See websites below for latest updates.
www.intecprinters.com/about-intec/making-a-difference www.ineeds.org.uk/projects/water-sanitation-and-hygiene-uganda/
“We are delighted to be able to play a part in this hugely important project. As usual, Intec will pledge a degree of funding to complement the contributions made form consumables sales. I'd like to personally thank our customers for the part you have all played in helping to make a difference.” Ian Melville Managing director Intec Printing Solutions
Village Stats • 50% of village population lack access to clean water. • Only 1 in 5 families has a toilet • Children suffering from water-borne disease are missing school; only 40% children finish their primary school studies • Women spend up to 4 hours per day collecting water for their families, and girls frequently miss school during menstruation due to shame, stigma and lack of facilities • Lack of access to water and sanitation disproportionately impacts women and children.
