PROJECTS

CREALAB - NETWORK OF CREATIVE LIVING LABS FROM THE EUROPEAN SOUTHWEST AREA It aims to create a network of living labs in the European Southwest area focused on the promotion of creative spillovers resulting from the relationship between the creative industries and traditional sectors (textiles, furniture, agriculture, tourism, etc.), in a collaborative and open innovation environment. The partnership is coordinated by INTELI and integrates the region of Grand-Angoulême (France) and the regions of Catalonia, Andalusia and Extremadura (Spain).

CREATIVE CLUSTERS - CREATIVE CLUSTERS IN LOW DENSITY URBAN AREAS It intended to promote the exchange of experiences, identify and disseminate good practices and propose policy recommendations and action plans associated with the development of creative clusters in small and medium-sized urban and rural areas. The partnership led by the Municipality of Óbidos (Portugal) included cities from Spain, Italy, Romania, Hungary, the UK and Finland.

PROJECTS

CITIES - CREATIVE INDUSTRIES IN TRADITIONAL INTERCULTURAL SPACES It aimed to produce policy recommendations oriented to the promotion of cultural and creative industries, with a focus on urban regeneration of degraded districts and former industrial areas. Coordinated by the Municipality of Kaipeda (Lithuania), the partnership incorporated cities and regional economic development agencies from Spain, Italy, the UK, Bulgaria and Slovenia.

ÓBIDOS – CREATIVE ECONOMY It had as main goal supporting the transformation of Óbidos (Portugal) in an attractive place to live and work through the affirmation of a creative economy. This development strategy had as anchor elements the creation and promotion of creative urban spaces and the promotion of creative entrepreneurship.

The partnership is led by the Potenza Province (Italy) and integrates cities and institutions in Portugal, Austria, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Lithuania, Romania, Denmark and Hungary.

POCACITO - POST-CARBON CITIES OF TOMORROW The objective is to develop an evidence-based 2050 roadmap for EU post-carbon cities, to facilitate the transition of EU cities to a forecasted sustainable or “post-carbon” economic model. The partnership includes 13 urban sustainability experts that will work with 10 case study cities (Barcelona, Copenhagen, Malmö, Istanbul, Lisbon, Litomerice, Milan, Turin, Offenburg and Zagreb), developing post-carbon visions and scenarios with local stakeholders. It also intends to organize a “marketplace of ideas” to spread best practices for other cities.

PROJECTS

BIOATLAS - GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR BIOENERGY It aims to create an online geographic information system that illustrates the potential market of bioenergy products made in Portugal. This tool will provide geo-referenced information on forest and agricultural biomass availability and location, estimates of production volumes, operating costs and environmental impacts. Led by INTELI, the partnership is composed of the Portuguese Energy Cluster, the University of Aveiro and a Regional Energy Agency.

GREEN CAMPUS – ENERGY EFFICIENCY CHALLENGE IN HIGHER EDUCATION It was a contest oriented to increase energy efficiency in higher education, challenging students, teachers and staff to analyze the energy efficiency of buildings where they study and work, and propose measures to reduce energy consumption. PROJECTS

RENER LIVING LAB – SMART CITIES NETWORK INTELI is coordinating the RENER living lab, a network of 25 Portuguese cities that act as spaces for testing and experimenting smart urban solutions in real-life context. The network came up with the National Electric Mobility Program, where cities functioned as test-beds for the introduction of electric vehicles in Portugal. The objective now is to integrate other areas of urban intelligence in the network, such as energy efficiency, governance, culture, tourism, etc.

SMART CITIES INDEX 2020 The Smart Cities Index 2020 intends to evaluate the urban intelligence of territories, based on five dimensions governance, innovation, sustainability, inclusion and connectivity. It was applied to 20 of the 25 cities that make part of the RENER Network, aiming to propose recommendations and concrete projects to be implemented in urban spaces.
