Meet CET Designer user Kari Paris, IIDA, creator of our May rendering Kari is a designer at Wittigs Office Interiors, a Haworth dealership where she’s worked since June 2008. Her responsibilities include space planning, client meetings, furniture and architectural product specifications, interior finishes and AutoCAD drawings. She has also helped to develop and implement a 3D rendering program at Wittigs to help meet additional client needs. A CET Designer user for almost three years now, she completed a huge job for a U.S. Air Force Base using the software. “I like the fact that I can turn around something to the client in a fraction of the time versus having to draw everything in AutoCAD,” she said. A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.S. in Interior Design, and an active IIDA member, she enjoys volunteering for programs that benefit the community.
Meet Tracy Lanning, CET Training and Support Manager Tracy Lanning is the CET training and support manager for Configura Inc. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has been with the company for three years and has developed the support and training team in the Grand Rapids Office. Although her college degrees are in interior design and business, Tracy’s career has primarily been in training and marketing within the furniture industry. She enjoys helping users to adopt CET Designer as a strategic tool for their business. Tracy has an 18-month-old son, Charlie, and in her spare time she enjoys gardening and renovating her 100-year-old house.

walk-through videos of your design. Use the Google SketchUp Extension to add realistic objects and images to your 3D rendering.
May’s Featured Tips Movie Studio and Google SketchUp are free CET Designer Extensions. The Movie Studio Extension enables you to create a walk-through video of your layout, giving your customers the ultimate visualization presentation. The Google SketchUp Extension lets you add images of people, plants and other accessories to make your 3D renderings even more realistic. (Note: Movie Studio requires using the “Advanced” graphics engine in CET Designer, which has higher hardware requirements. Please call CET Designer Support at 877-238-0808 for help with checking your hardware capabilities.) You can download the Movie Studio and Google SketchUp Extensions for free under the “Download Extensions” tab in the CET Designer Extension Manager, found in the “Other” section under Configura Extensions and the Commercial Furniture Catalogs. Once downloaded, you’ll see new icons in your Components Tab area. Configura is offering free webinars in May on using the Movie Studio and Google SketchUp Extensions.
