Dear All, Very soon we will meet at the 13th EXPO of Spare Parts, Tools and Garage Equipment, that is why this issue of Wiadomości is fully devoted to this event.

What will the next edition of EXPO bring us?

For sure we will present possibly biggest number of spare parts and products somehow connected with automotive spare parts industry. Truck Division, which is developing very fast and actively strives to make their offer more complete, will be presenting their new image. Also the product range of garage equipment used for repairs in every modern garage will be presented widely. For these goods there is a separate expo hall, because year by year this kind of exhibition attracts more and more customers. I am not able to list all the project here, which will be presenting their offer during the EXPO, but I strongly recommend you looking through the plan of the Fair which can be found in the centrefold of our bimonthly magazine. I am sure that thanks to the materials you will be able to enjoy the whole variety of exhibition prepared.

An integral part of our Fair is building up relations with you in the atmosphere of recreation and sports. This year there will be incredible emotions connected with motorization shows on the arena of Inter Cars Castrol Motor Show! Especially for you there will be the most well known names of motorsports, during the day as well as during the night. Details of all the attractions will be described on the first pages of this issue and on www.13targi.intercars.com.pl. But hurry up choosing what you want to see, because the number of tickets is limited and interest is high!

Dear All,

ON COMMON TRUST AND PARTNER-

Since 16th July 2013 I have become a member of the board of Inter Cars S.A. Like all the other Members of the Board, I will be responsible for overall results of the company. But because of my experience, I will be able to involve more in areas of sales and marketing.

Since the beginning of my career I have been dealing in distribution of automotive spare parts. This area is the closest to me. Frankly speaking I have been working for the same company for 17 years, only the company changed the owner twice. But all this time I have been working with the same partners: garage owners and employees. Thanks to this I can take advantage of my experience in this area. What is most valuable in my experience is being aware that it is worth listening to the Customers and together look for solutions which will bring advantages for all participants of independent automotive aftermarket. It is also a philosophy of Inter Cars S.A. From the very beginning the company have been putting emphasis of common trust and partner relations as the basis of all operations. Without this basis it would be hard to build long-term relationships.

But this foundation cannot be built without a dialogue, without common meetings and getting to know closer.

SHIP AS THE FOUNDATION OF ALL ITS OPERATIONS. WITHOUT THIS IT IS HARD TO BUILD ANY LONGTERM RELATIONS. BUT THIS FOUNDATION CANNOT BE BUILT WITHOUT A DIALOGUE, WITHOUT COMMON MEETINGS AND MEETING CLOSER.

Our Trade Fair, which have been organized for 13 years now and with success, are a good place to meet and to combine work with pleasure. The EXPO is the only place in Poland, where you can meet such a wide range of manufacturers of spare parts, tools and garage equipment and also to participate in a wide range of trainings. On the other hand, besides Friday, which is on purpose meant only for business, on the other days we are trying to keep the atmosphere of relax and fun. Your presence here is the best confirmation that this form of meeting is attractive for our Customers.

The world around us is changing all the time, forcing on us adaptation to new market conditions. In the past the fax and computer were new in the garage. Today it is hard to imagine work without Internet access all the knowledge which can be found in it. Also today the drivers use Internet when they are looking for solutions of the problems with their cars or just a service check. Very often when they are looking for solutions of their problems, they are also looking for spare parts and possibility of buying them online. But we estimate and expect that e-sales of spare parts will not be more than 10% of total market value. Of course we do not include in this estimation products, which are typically “Internet” products, such as e.g.: tyres.

Limitation of development of Internet sales of mechanical spare parts is very often a problem with finding correct spare parts, need of disassembling and verifying spare parts in the garage, and because of this the need of having special tools and jacks or hoists. Very often lack of special knowledge makes it impossible to buy parts on-line, in that case it is better to use know-how of other people.

So on-line sales will mostly go for products which are easy to identify, such as accessories or above mentioned tyres.

I suppose that within the next 10 years there will be only two main Internet selling channels. The first one will be selling via e-shops, where traditional customer - the driver - chooses the parts to his car himself. The second one will be sales via Motointegrator, that is parts with services. Taking into consideration that level of digitalization as well as the pace of life of our society are growing really fast, the meaning of Motointegrator will be growing as well. Because Motointegrator cannot work without close cooperation with garages, we are counting on your cooperation and feedback regarding Motointegrator.

13TH FAIR WILL TAKE PLACE ON 6TH-8TH SEPTEMBER 2013, IN WARSAW AT BEMOWO AIRPORT. THIS WILL BE A PLACE WHERE INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, SUPPLIERS AND MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES MEET. ALL OF THEM WANT TO BE CLOSE TO THE CUSTOMER. During the Fair, in special business zone, you will be able to see the offer of spare parts, tools and garage equipment prepared especially by Inter Cars and almost 200 other exhibitors. It will be an ideal place to get to know the variety of exhibition.

Joanna Król: What can our Customers expect to see during this EXPO? New exhibitors, new propositions?

Rafał Jaskułka, Event Department Manager in Inter Cars S.A. Every year there are more and more exhibitors. The Fair is very interesting for our suppliers.

Garage Equipment offer is developing very rapidly and this year our visitors will see there several new manufacturers.

Several exhibitors combined their booths creating innovative solutions. Some suppliers also have two exhibitions, because of their product range. Bosch, Magneti Marelli, Hella, Valeo or Delphi have their expo in aftermarket area as well as in garage equipment zone. Also during the 13th EXPO you will be able to buy accessories and hand tools. Our customers will be able to buy these goods with special prices.

J.K.: Year by year the expo area is getting bigger. I think that many people can still remember the time of exhibition in Czosnów in 2000, when the concept of this event was created. How will this look like

in the 13th year of existence?

R.J.: Today the whole exhibition is located on 35,000 sq meters, in comparison to the first Trade Fair the area increased by seven times.

This shows the development of our EXPO. Our suppliers are awaiting the EXPO each year describing it as the most content related one, which attract people from the industry, looking for knowledge and modern solutions. Summarising, it is a B2B event in one hundred per cent.

J.K.: GE exhibition is exceptionally big. As always, specialists from this department prepared very interesting offers and very attractive trade terms.

R.J.: Yes, really GE exhibition is the biggest of all, because this year all the brands which are included in this offer are located on the area of 5,000 sqm. Much wider will be the offer of body parts. On this area you will find many interesting propositions, many brands, lots of tools and devices, beginning with a small wrench and ending on huge hoists. The Customers will find it interesting to see modern and efficient garage, and visitors to this exhibition will be able to find lots of practical solutions there.

J.K.: You are also the originator of Inter Camp. A place where our Guests will be able to put their campers or tents and be close to the whole event and take as much as possible out of their stay in Warsaw.

R.G.: As I mentioned before, for the first time in Poland we are organizing Night Motor Show, which can be seen only by our Customers. So we have decided to spend more time together, with no need for looking for a hotel in Warsaw, which unfortunately are not one of the cheapest. Inter Camp is nothing else than a camping zone with full sanitary infrastructure, that is toilettes and showers, protected and secured for the whole night. It is enough to take tents, camping trailers or campers with you, or any other equipment which will make it possible to spend the night there. It is really a comfortable solution, because our Inter Camp is located on the premises of the event, so there is no need of any night travel through Warsaw by night.

Additionally, the ticket to Inter Camp is also a ticket to Inter Cars Castrol Motor Show for Saturday and Sunday. It is also a pass to the

Night Motor Show in OPEN zone with catering and beverages free of charge. The idea of this undertaking is to let the guests of Inter Camp spend a weekend in an automotive atmosphere, with no need of leaving EXPO area. Unfortunately, because of technical reasons, the number of places in Inter Camp is limited to “only” 2,000, so we will register guest in orders of application.

Volkswagen Castrol Cup at Master Race 2013

CONFIGURATION OF RACING GOLF WAS MADE BY VOLKSWAGEN RACING POLAND IN COOPERATION WITH VOLKSWAGEN R GMBH AND VOLKSWAGEN MOTORSPORT – DEPARTMENTS OF THE CONCERN WHICH DEAL WITH MOTORSPORTS. THE CAR HAS A PETROL ENGINE 2.0 TSI WITH 260 HP. PUSH-TO-PASS FEATURE MAKES IT EVEN MORE INTERESTING TO COMPETE IN THIS CAR, AS IT ADDS THE ENGINE EXTRA 50HP FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. As the base for construction of VW Golf our constructors used an anniversary version of Golf GTI 6th generation - Edition 35. It was rebuild and adapted to take part in motorsports and car races.

LIKE ON RAILS… The suspension was changed, sport shock absorbers were assembled with dual regulation of parameters and additional sport suspension springs. Rubber metal bushes were eliminated and instead of them there are special uni-balls, which increase the hardness of the system and prevent the moves which are necessary for comfortable street driving but absolutely unwanted in case of races.

Thanks to changed stub axles and spring leafs the car is lower and wider keeping the right kinetics of the suspension.

COOLING SYSTEM Serial exhaust system was replaced with a purpose designed sports exhaust. Because of increased heat emitted from the engine and transmission (radiator of DSG transmission is liquid cooled) the system was rebuilt with two additional radiators. As a result the capacity of the system was increased by about 3 litres, whereas the coolant remained the same – Castrol Radicool SF.

NECESSARY MINUMUM Interior – all unnecessary elements of the interior (upholstery, seats) were removed and the cabin got a racing seat, 6-point safety belts, cage and central controlled extinguishing system. The weight of the car was lowered from 1,393kg to 1,210kg. The difference of 183kg would be noticed even in a road car.

ANALYSIS Additionally the car was equipped with the most modern telemetric system AIM, which makes it possible to monitor and analyse the work of most important parts of car, as well as driving style of the driver and driving parameters. Thanks to this system the drivers can improve their driving skills by comparing their style to the style of faster contestants, and engineers have a chance to analyse the work of car elements.

CHECKED IN ALL CONDITIONS - The cars were tested on several racing tracks: in Poland, Germany and Spain. During the tests, optimum settings were checked, inter alia suspension geometry, shock absorbers, stabilizers, so that they can be set in all cars for each racing round individually – says Waldemar Pabijan, technical coordinator of Volkswagen Racing Poland. - we have also made a long distance test, the aim of which was to find the weakest points of the car, in order to eliminate the most out of the whole series. In total the cars drove around 3,000km – this is the number of kilometres driven during 2 seasons of VWCC races – adds Pabijan.

in new design 13TH EXPO WILL BE THE PLACE OF PREMIERE OF NEW DESIGN OF 4MAX ANTIFREEZE. THE PRESENTATION WILL TAKE PLACE ON BOOTH NO 15, DEDICATED FOR LUBRICANTS AND GARAGE CHEMICALS. Most of coolants and antifreeze available on the market are traditional ones which work properly for two years. They contain silicates, phosphates and amines as corrosion inhibitors, which lose their qualities. It is than important to change the traditional coolants every two years, because it influences the efficiency and durability of cooling system.

Currently most of car manufacturers use „Longlife� coolants. It is also based on ethylene glycol, but contains the most modern OAT technology. Longlife coolant contains organic acids which protect against corrosion.

You need to remember that both types of coolants cannot be used or mixed together in cooling system. Organic acids in Longlife coolants make the silicates settle from tradi-

tional coolants, and this substantially decreases corrosion protection.

FROST PROTECTION Frost level protection has very little in common with corrosion protection. Freezing test will show us the temperature of freezing, but will not show us the level of anti-corrosion protection of the coolant. It is recommended to flush the whole system and change coolant every two or five years, depending on the type of coolant. Right maintenance of cooling system is very important for the engine life of a car. If the coolant is neglected for a long time, a part of engine as well as the cooling system may corrode and this will lead to the need of replacement.

Besides 4MAX coolants in new packages there will also be new products made by Cartechnic.

DURING THE 13TH EXPO YOU WILL SEE THE PREMIERE OF LAUNCH – CAT -501+ DEVICE. IT IS A FULLY AUTOMATIC DEVICE FOR CHANGING OIL AND FLUSHING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS IN PASSENGER CARS AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES. The process of the device is based on so called: “dynamic” method of oil change. The procedure works as follows: connect E XP O the device to oil main GE of gearbox (between gearbox and oil radiator) and pumping out used oil, at the same time pumping in a new one. As opposed to traditional method, which means removing the oil pan and letting the oil to flow down freely, ensures full and complete oil change. The method also prevents mixing old oil with fresh oil, what influenced a lot the features of the oil.

Because, when the transmission works, small particles of metal get into oil together with other small residues, professional service of automatic transmission should include flushing of the whole system in order to remove them all. CAT-501+ makes it possible to flush the whole system using a special flushing agent.

It is worth noticing that standard equipment of the device includes a set of connectors which make it possible to connect the device to most vehicles in the market. Moreover there are special adapter kits available, which make it possible to connect also to transmissions used in Asian, European and American cars (e.g. to more and more popular DSG transmissions).
