CHAR RLOTT TE Graphic Designer & Illustrator
I entered a competition from the ‘Brief Encounters 2011 Award’ for a paper company called Paper. Co. I was fortunate enough, along with my collegue, to win a Bronze Award for our entry. We had to make a direct mail piece to encourage people to recycle. Our final product was intended to make the whole process of recycling fun, but that also made people aware of the company and its efforts to support the cause. The piece also included a concept for an App that was based on collecting paper to recycle within a certain time limit.

This project is something that involves me illustrating sayings to best communicate them in a fun way. Not only did I enjoy coming up with the best images for a book but I was also able to devolop the images and use them in different ways too. The most successful saying that has had the most positive feedback is the ‘All you need is Love’. I have used this to my adavantage and have t-shirts going out of the design. Another competition breif, this time from YCN. The company is called Graze and they were looking for a re-designing of their logo and packaging. Graze are a healthy, home delivered snack service within the UK. This project turned out to be one of my most enjoyed projects which incorporated design and imporving of my skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
My most current project, that you see at the show, was with the theme of dogs. This was chosen due to my passion for dogs and I felt this would be a great platform for my design work to flourish. I drew the dogs by hand and then enhanced them in Adobe Illustrator. The book was then handmade using screws to have the dog collar effect. I did opt for two versions of the book, having a special edition thats handmade and a ready to print version. Check it out at the show
