As the dust clears from the high school application deadline we are delighted to report that our early college admissions, once again, backs up what we have been asserting all along about the IB Diploma. The IB roughly doubles your Admission chances at the best colleges. Early Admission for the class of 2014 included 3 acceptances to Stanford. There were many other superlatives but Yale, Brown and Oxford in the UK are worthy of special mention! Andrew Brown Dean of Admission

International High school Principal, Joel Cohen at work and play... The International high School is led by Joel Cohen who takes pride in creating an educational environment where all students thrive and can follow their passions both inside and outside the classroom. Joel leads from the front combining academic excellence with a balanced healthy life. He can teach college level Chemistry and TOK in English or French; and has a particular interest in combining "tried and trusted" traditional teaching approaches with STEM innovations. Joel is truly inspirational in terms of his own extracurricular interests. He rides a ferocious Ducati motorcycle, is a virtuoso blues guitarist and flies light aeroplanes.

Student-directed one-act plays this weekend

Our annual student-directed one act play festival opens on Thursday January 30 and continues through Saturday, February 1. Over the past two months, five International High School seniors have been overseeing rehearsals and working with design teams to prepare their one act plays. Students are also overseeing costume design for these plays and helping with set, props, sound and lights, making this a true showcase of student creativity and initiative. Prospective students and families are welcome to e-mail Erin or Tatiana in our Admission Office to reserve complimentary tickets.
