The overarching goal from ICA Board conversations was around strengthening education and international engagement, increasing membership, and enhancing the ICA’s global presence and impact within the chiropractic community through effectively communicating its values and contributions to chiropractic practice currently and historically.

The living body possesses an innate ability to adapt and self-heal, facilitated by an optimally functioning nervous system, which is improved by chiropractic care.
The International Chiropractors Association (ICA) promotes, protects, and perpetuates the core principle of chiropractic by ensuring that the public has the right to access chiropractic care focusing on the correction of vertebral subluxation by safeguarding the privilege of licensed/credentialed chiropractors’ ability to practice chiropractic worldwide.

Advocate for legislation that allows for inclusivity of chiropractic care as a unique, separate, distinct, and drug-less health care profession.
Advocate to protect and promote the unique chiropractic health philosophy of chiropractic.
Advocate to maintain the primary focus of chiropractic on the science and art of subluxation detection and correction.
Advocate for the removal of barriers to access to specific chiropractic care.
Advocate for equal compensation when equal services are rendered.
Enhance the skills and techniques & expand the knowledge of the individual chiropractor.
Facilitate the growth of knowledge and deepen the understanding within the chiropractic profession so more knowledgeable, competent, and safer chiropractic care may be provided to the public.
Assist the chiropractor to effectively administer chiropractic care in an area of individual expertise and/or interest that would benefit the public’s health and safety.
Promote continued excellence of patient care in applications as they relate to chiropractic practice.
Protect the health and wellbeing of the individual patient and public, in general, with respect to the scientific application of chiropractic care technology
Establish suitable education and credentialing for postgraduate continuing education, diplomate, and fellowship programs.
The International Chiropractors Association (ICA) recognizes the importance of establishing and making its values known. These are goals we aspire to achieve in our day-to-day operations; they are guideposts to light our way as we work to fulfill our Vision and Mission.

We advocate for a healthcare system that is just, fair, and free from discrimination. We believe that all people should have equal access to services that promote health and wellbeing, including chiropractic care. We support the inclusion of all licensed health providers that are practicing within the scope and standards of their profession and advocate for compensation that is commensurate and fair for services provided.
We advocate for a health care system that gives people control of their own health and health promoting practices. We foster the development of health promoting capacity in individuals, organizations and health professions through education, knowledge and information, advocacy, access, communication, and collaboration.

Chiropractic has much to provide humanity, and our profession should be sure that it thrives while it is “staying in the lane of chiropractic.”

Chiropractic should have a principled international advocacy organization Background: Since 1926, the ICA has advocated and, when necessary, litigated to support the chiropractic profession and quality patient care. With the support of ICA’s dedicated members and leaders globally, chiropractic is a formally recognized and respected healthcare choice.
Chiropractors should be treated equally in healthcare systems worldwide and the ICA will help remove barriers to access.
Chiropractic should continue to expand the body of clinical and basic science research; in practice-based outcomes research; and in advancing the knowledge base of the whole person effect of regular chiropractic care.
