Welcome note from CC Team Dear AIESECers, In the next 10 minutes, we will give you all the information you need to ensure a smooth Visa procedure for you to attend AIESEC International Congress 2019 in Sri Lanka. Grab a cup of tea and read this booklet carefully, as we will reveal to you secrets about the Sri Lankan Visa! Being attentive about requirements & conditions, and following deadlines are bound to make this process successful for you! Let's get one step closer to visit Sri Lanka!

AIESEC International Congress 2019 Sri Lanka

AIESEC International Congress is the annual event of AIESEC, where 650+ youth leaders from almost 120+ countries and territories meet to celebrate youth leadership, cultural diversity, and global togetherness. The purpose of this conference is to offer a unique platform to the global network of AIESEC leaders to be able to drive initiatives, implement strategies, and develop in young people, the leadership we need, to achieve Peace and FulďŹ llment of Humankind's Potential. This year, it is the 71st edition of AIESEC International Congress and it will happen in Sri Lanka from 5th - 13th of July 2019. DeďŹ nitely, an opportunity of a lifetime!

Facts Before You Get Started Do I need to visit the consulate to receive Sri Lankan visa? No! You can get your Visa without leaving your house! You must apply for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) and you will receive your VISA email in 2 business days. Sri Lankan ETA is electronically linked to your passport number. You will not require a stamp, nor you will be issued one. Visa Type - IC delegates should apply for Business Purpose Visa.

*Please note that IC delegates CANNOT apply for Tourist Visa.

Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) ETA is an official authorization for a Short Visit to Sri Lanka and is issued electronically. ETA holders will be issued a 30-day Short Visit visa at the port of entry in Sri Lanka. The ETA is issued through an online system. No passport copies, documents or photographs are required. There is no requirement to endorse the ETA on the passport. Upon arrival at the port of entry in Sri Lanka (Bandaranaike International Airport), produce your passport to the immigration officer to obtain the necessary clearance. It is advisable for you to bring a printed copy of the ETA approval notice along with you.

Which nationals can apply for ETA? Maldives, Singapore, Seychelles - You are welcome to Sri Lanka without ETA. Lucky you! Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast are countries that CANNOT apply for ETA through on-line system. For IC delegates from these countries, CC Team will provide special assistance. We will support the process of receiving Visa however the authority to issue the Visa relies on The Sri Lankan Government. After announcements of “IC Approved Delegates� and providing us your personal information, passport copy and contact details of your AIESEC entity we will contact Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration in Colombo on your behalf. After that, you will get a Visa on arrival at the port of entry in Sri Lanka given that you are qualified to receive it. Pakistan, Egypt, Korea and Afghanistan need special attention while applying for ETA. It is recommended by the Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration in Colombo that all IC Approved Delegates should contact the nearest Sri Lankan Embassy/ Consulate in your country with the Invitation Letter and then apply for business purpose VISA. Nationals of other countries can issue ETA through an online system.

Invitation Letter CC Team of IC 2019 will provide an Invitation Letter upon request for delegates to support the Visa process to attend AIESEC International Congress 2019, Sri Lanka. To receive an Invitation Letter please send us an official email to ce@iclk.aiesec.org with "InvitationLetter_NameSurname_Request" as the subject.

Make sure there is no spelling mistakes in your passport number, nationality and date of birth, as once application is submitted you cannot make changes.

Payments through electronic payment cards (credit card/e-commerce enabled debit cards) through website is secure as the payment gateway has been designed in accordance with the international standards. If you don’t have credit card you can make a payment with other person's credit card.

You can check your ETA confirmation on website: https://eta.gov.lk in "Check Status" section by providing confirmation code, passport number and nationality. ETA will be processed within two working days.

Please bear in mind that the ETA Processing fee paid by you is not Refundable and Non-Transferable. Please note that you agree that your credit card(s) will be billed immediately after submission of your application. The payment can be made in designated foreign currencies equivalent to the value of US Dollars. Please make sure that the passport which was used for applying online visa is used for entering into Sri Lanka. In the event you produce a travel document other than the one used for applying online Visa, you are required to pay again on arrival for the Visa. Entry Requirements (on arrival) to Sri Lanka All delegates are required to go through immigration clearance upon arrival to Sri Lanka. The granting of entry to Sri Lanka is determined by the Immigration officers at the point of entry. Delegates must provide the following basic entry requirements before they can be considered for entry into Sri Lanka: A passport with at least 6 months validity – your passport should be set to expire at least six months after the final day of travel to Sri Lanka Printout of valid Sri Lanka visa or ETA, if applicable Enough funds to last for the intended period of stay in Sri Lanka Confirmed return tickets Completed Disembarkation Card (after arrival to Bandaranaike International Airport) Invitation letter for AIESEC International Congress 2019 Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable The period of stay granted is shown on the entry endorsement given on the delegate's passport. Delegates are advised to check their passports for the arrival Submitting an ETA at Port of Entry to Sr Lanka For travellers who wish to visit Sri Lanka without prior ETA approval, a limited facility to obtain ETA is available. Upon arrival to Sri Lanka report to the ETA issuing and fill in the ETA application form and pay the relevant ETA processing fee only in US$. Only electronic payment cards (credit cards/ e-commerce enabled debit cards) and cash in US$ are accepted.

FAQ Yellow fever vaccination What is yellow fever? Yellow fever is caused by a virus that is spread through mosquito bites. Symptoms of yellow fever (fever, chills, headache, backache, and muscle aches) take 3–6 days to develop. About 15% of people who get yellow fever develop serious illness, including bleeding, shock, organ failure, and sometimes death. Argentina, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo - you are hereby informed that you must submit yellow fever vaccination certificate at the port of arrival to Sri Lanka, in order to comply with international health regulations. How to get yellow fever card? Please visit a yellow fever vaccination clinic in your country and ask for a yellow fever vaccine. You should be vaccinated at least 10 days before you travel to allow enough time for the vaccine to work. Once vaccinated, you will receive a “yellow card,” known as an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis. The certificate is valid for 10 years. Please bring this document with you to Sri Lanka.

Flight Booking Do I need a ticket before I apply for an ETA? ETA can be obtained even before booking your ticket. ETA is not a pre-condition to board a flight to Sri Lanka. Just note that you will need return tickets while arriving in Sri Lanka.

Funds for stay in Sri Lanka How should I present my funds in Sri Lanka? How much funds should I have for my stay in Sri Lanka? It is recommended to present printed current bank balance statement with proof of continuing income (pension, trust fund, etc.) or credit card statements showing sufficient balance.
