The ultimate tragic love story based on the brilliance of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet comes to Panama all the way from the Broadway stage. The musical, originally written in 1957, is a loose adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with themes of romance, betrayal, and loyalty. More than 50 students contributed to the production, including building sets, playing in the orchestra, working backstage, marketing, and of course, singing, dancing and acting on stage! The performances take place on: Friday, November 18- 8:00 PM Saturday, November 19- 8:00 PM Sunday, November 20- 3:00 PM Tickets are on sale in the box office of the Performing Arts Center from 9:00 AM- 3:00 PM every school day and from cast members during lunch. Mature themes explored, parental discretion advised.

ISP GIVING BACK AND RAISING AWARNESS FOR MOVEMBER
Movember at ISP Update Students and teachers have been working hard to spread the message of what the Movember Foundation is all about in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Men's Health. Through donation boxes and mustache sticker sales, the campaign has raised over $800 USD over the past two weeks alone! What is Movember? Movember is a movement for men's health. For 30 days in the month formerly known as November, Men around the world grow their moustaches to rally to support the cause, get people talking and raise funds for men’s health projects, such as, cancer & mental health issues. ISP's Movember team, los Hombres del Bigote, believes that knowledge is power and conversations save lives.
Why should you care? With early detection, many/all of these health issues are treatable and curable. Think about the men that you care about in your life: Brother, Father, Friend, etc. When was the last time that they visited their doctor for a check up?
Help raise awareness and donate vital funds towards men's cancer & mental health research. Please visit our donation page at http://mobro.co/loshombresdelbigote for more information about how you can help.

Elementary School Becky Jobes, PhD—Elementary Principal—bjobes@isp.edu.pa “A Colorful Christmas Toy Drive” Dear ISP Families, This holiday season, a time of sharing, our school will again host a “Toy-a-Thon” to benefit the children at FANLYC. This gift donation will replace the classic class gift exchange between our students during this season. As many of you already know, FANLYC is an organization that covers the cost of cancer treatment for over 900 children all over Panama. FANLYC organizes a Christmas party for the children they serve as part of the social-emotional support their foundation provides. This year this party will take place Sunday, December 11th and at this event, each FANLYC child receives at least five presents. Sadly, for some of these children, this might be their last Christmas and others have been through very hard and painful times; therefore FANLYC wants them to have a wonderful Christmas and nice gifts to remember. Here at ISP we want to contribute to this cause by having each ISP student in the Elementary School bring a new toy to share with a FANLYC friend. We emphasize that the gift must be new and NOT WRAPPED. We are asking for your participation by purchasing and sending to school an unwrapped gift that will be shared with a FANLYC child. The recommended gift value is $15-$20 for the age group assigned to your child’s grade level. If your child is a boy, send a boy gift. If your child is a girl, send a girl gift. PK3/4= age 4-6 years K= age 6-8 years
1st grade= age 8-10 years 2nd grade= age 10-12 years 3rd grade= age 12-14 years 4th grade = age 9-11 years 5th grade= any age group We will be collecting donations starting Monday, Nov. 21st until Friday, December 2nd. With your support we would like to build a huge “Toy Mountain” in the Elementary School as a gift from the ISP community to these brave children. The Student Representative Council will be delivering these gifts to the FANLYC house the week of December 5th. You can find more information at www.fanlyc.org.pa. FANLYC calls people who help them “Little Stars” (Estrellitas) and they have a song that goes “Come little star, like you I want to shine” So let’s all be “estrellitas”. Sincerely,
FANLYC Committee, Kindergarten Team, and the Student Representative

It is all about Student Centered Support Want to learn more about learning support in middle school? One of the important habits to become successful in middle school and in life is organization. Discovering the right way to organize yourself is a highly individualized process. In the learning support class, we have been exploring, using, and discarding different strategies to organize ourselves. What works for some of us doesn’t necessarily work for all of us. By seeing the different ways in which others organize their responsibilities, we are able to try out new methods in a collaborative learning environment.

TRÈS BON The middle school French Spelling Bee Competition 2016 was held on November 15th, 2016. The aim of this activity is to encourage students to explore and study the French as they improve their vocabulary, spelling, pronunciation and memory skills in the target language. This year ISP hosted different schools like Isaac Rabin, Escuela Franco-Panamena, and Instituto Justo Arosemena. Hats off to Clara Davasse from 6th Grade who won the first place and to Noor Nahro from 7th grade who also got the third place.

Athletics: #GOISPDOLPHINS! Peter Smyth, Athletic Director—psmyth@isp.edu.pa ISP RUNNERS MAKE THEIR MARK AT AASCA On November 9th a group of fifteen students represented ISP at AASCA Track & Field / Cross Country 2016, hosted by Escuela Americana de El Salvador. They traveled with coaches Mr. Binder and Mr. Sanchis. The team has been working hard since the beginning of the school year towards two main objectives: establish the track and field culture around our new facilities and to grow a solid team. Both these objectives were met and there are regularly 30 runners in some practices. Mrs. Smyth exerted her role as a wise and caring leader for the trip. Our team had a blast at the opening ceremony followed by three days of challenges from Cross Country in the morning to Track and Field in the afternoon. From the rocky and pretty technical route of Parque Bicentenario to a wide varieaty of athletic events (race, jumps and throws), perhaps the purest demonstration of physical activity. Our athletes went above and beyond their comfort zones, made new friends and embraced a strong sense of camaraderie. They even ran the last event, 4x400m relay, joining forces with the only student athlete from Balboa. Our semester of hard work was rewarded when our boys got 3rd place (out of 9) in Cross Country, our best ever AASCA finish.
