Dear Parents, For the last 15 years, ISP’s Elementary School has made it a tradition to collect school supplies for our sister school, Gabriel Lewis Galindo, (Las Trancas). Gabriel Lewis Galindo School is a public elementary school located just a few kilometers from our beautiful campus, where over 400 underprivileged children attend grades pre-kinder through 6th grade in morning or afternoon shifts. Spirit Week 2017

Spirit Week is February 20th—24th. We are so excited for the upcoming festivities. Below you will find the dress up days for the week:

Monday—Wacky Tacky Day Students are encouraged to wear their wackiest and tackiest clothing. Polka dots, stripes, zig zags and more. Kick off Spirit Week with a smile.

Tuesday—ISP Spirit Day Blue Out Students are encouraged to show ISP spirit by wearing blue from head to toe. Be creative and have fun!

Wednesday—Pajama Day Students can come to school in comfy pajamas and spend some time with buddy classes to build community across grade levels

Thursday—POD Day Students will wear POD shirts to show POD spirit. Classrooms will also show school spirit by decorating a Spirit Door!

Friday—Fun in the Sun Students will relax in the sun and get a little wet. We will have jumpy castles, foam machines, and more. Students should wear their PE uniforms with their swimsuits underneath. Bring a towel, hat, sunscreen, and anything else to stay protected from the Panama sun.

Multicultural Youth Choir of Panama On Friday, ISP hosted the first workshop and performance of the Multicultural Youth Choir of Panama. An ISP Visual and Performing Arts initiative, this choir strives to bring together students from different cultures and schools to learn, play, and perform. Students from Knightsbridge Schools International Panama, Magen David Academy, and Pacific Coast International School joined ISP students representing every class from Grades 3-5. The day culminated in a performance entitled Peace Begins with Us, presenting challenging songs in four languages. Choir and Band Students attend AASCA Music Festival Last week, middle and high school band and choir students journeyed to San Jose, Costa Rica for the AASCA Music Festival. This biennial event combines students and staff from the Association of American Schools of Central America to workshop, perform, and compete over a three-day festival. All students represented ISP in larger combined ensembles, as well as showcased our own choir and band. Special thanks to our own Ms. Wendy Tooke and Mr. Malcolm McCormick for preparing, organizing, and traveling with the students. Congratulations to our students for their successful trip! IB Theatre Collaborative Night- The IB theatre Students will be performing an original piece of theatre in the blackbox on February 21 at 4:30 PM

IB Art Show- Mark your Calendar for March 8, which will be the IB Art show in the PTA Galleries in the PAC. Don't miss the Visual Arts highlight of the year!

REHEARSALS ES Musical Madagascar Jr - Music rehearsals are just about complete and next week we move to the stage for blocking! MS Play Stone Soup- Show is cast, scripts are out and rehearsals have started! Looking forward to opening the play on April 27! HS Play Six Characters in Search of an Author- We are super lucky to have such a talented cast of high school students this year participating in the play. Rehearsal are well under way and we sure Mr. Wong and the ISP thespians will do an excellent job. Just Opened at Theatre Guild of Ancon "Bang Bang you're Dead" featuring ISP senior Nick Molina with Set construction by ISP senior Tito Vallerino. Be sure not to miss this poignant play dealing with the effects of bullying and school violence. HISTORIC START FOR THE DOLPHINS After Day1 of the AASCA SOCCER tournament hosted in Managua, Nicaragua, the ISP Dolphins Varsity teams are already making history. For the first time ever we have completed the first day of competition in a large school AASCA without loosing a game. WHO WE ARE: We are a group of ISP parents who offer orientation and information to families regarding relocation, the local language, improve your Spanish, as well as understanding and navigating Panamanian Culture.
