Welcome to the 2018 Parade of Homes. This year represents the Heart of Texas Builders Association’s 34th year presenting a tour of homes built exclusively by our builder members and their selected subcontractors. We’re proud of the heritage of the association. Many of our builders represent a long line of builders who have built a legacy of quality building standards and passed that standard down to their sons and daughters to continue building the homes that make up the fabric of our neighborhoods in the Greater Waco area. Each year, our guests are reminded of the fact that builders use the newest designs, landscaping, materials and energy efficiency systems available in residential homes. This year is no exception. The Heart of Texas Builders Association members are constantly investing in new training to bring home buyers increased technology for smart homes, beautiful and evolving floor plans that suit the modern family lifestyle and indoor/outdoor plans that make the most of the current trends for an active family to enjoy their home. Our builders are developers. Developers of communities and cities that meet the demands of suburban and urban living. They are developers of parks and green spaces, developers of affordable housing and developers of tomorrow’s craftsmen and women as they continually invest in education through scholarships at McLennan Community College and the Greater Waco Manufacturing Academy. egun as Young American Homes in 1959 by their father, the Alford Company is currently operated by brothers, Brad and Nathan Alford. Brad is a graduate of Texas A & M University, and Nathan is a graduate of Texas State Technical College. Both have degrees in building construction science.
