The Heart of Texas Builders Association is proud to present the 2021 Parade of Homes. We are excited to return to in-person home tours after moving to a virtual parade last year. The good news is we learned a lot about virtual tours and have incorporated that feature into this year’s parade. Our virtual tour will go live on Sunday April 25th allowing you to refer back to the homes and their features for months to come. The homes built by our builder members, with the help of our associate members and sub-contractors, represent the latest in design, technology and materials. Each year the goal of the association and its builder members is to feature new ideas in style, energy efficiency and smart home technology. The trend this year continues to move toward open floor plans and indoor-outdoor living. The Heart of Texas Builders Association is one of 27 local Texas associations comprised of more than 10,000 members in the Texas Association of Builders. These Associations, along with the National Builders Association, work with all levels of government to keep housing safe and affordable. Many of our members also give of their time by serving on local boards, charities and committees throughout our cities. We also invest in training and education through scholarships at McLennan Community College and T.S.T.C. We are proud of our members and their standing in their communities. Ignacio Ruiz Sr. well known as “Nacho” migrated from a small town in
the mountains of Zacatecas, Mexico. Arriving toTexas in 1969, Nacho began to work in concrete construction with local businessmen. After working for concrete contractors, through time, hard work, & teachings (to whom he Nacho Ruiz is very thankful), he began his own journey working in business as a contractor in 1977. A third-generation builder, Rex Stem follows the guidance of the many builders in his family: his mother Sherry Stem, his uncle Woody Butler, his cousin LuAnne Butler, and his namesake, Rex Butler.
