Within Itunes Comedy and any other category of humor, it is not just about making the audience laugh-- it is more importantly about how you make the audience laugh. The most essential detail a comedian must possess is their own style. Depending on both the audience and the style of the comedian, the skit can either turn out a success or disaster. It just has to do with the connection the audience feels with their style. ●

Awkward: Perhaps the most difficult to accomplish because one needs to be natural and authentic, almost limited to behavior and expression. This humor most often focuses on the mundane details of life that anyone can relate with. Sarcastic: Successful when you get the audience to question if you are really serious. It is an easier attempt at a laugh, creating tension and then breaking it and easily relatable. Quick-Witted: Most important characteristic of this style requires speed, a key element of intelligence. When able to construct a joke quickly, it doesn’t leave the audience hanging or waiting for something they may not even find funny. It is quick and to the point. Self-Deprecated: Relies on poking fun at yourself when talking about the mundane and relatable situations such as habits or their appearance. Since these are relatable, it is a relief for the audience to laugh since they most likely have found themselves in an identical situation before. Dark: The least relatable and most obscure. The topics of dark humor often relate to disturbing, gross, or depressing situations of life. It is a release to laugh about what makes us fall into a pit of depression.
Comedy cannot be restricted. Of course, these are many more types of humor out there than the five listed. There are so much more being mixed and matched and played around with that suit the comedian best and deliver the material successfully within the Itunes Comedy world.
