It is astonishing what items Westlake Plumbers have found obstructing the toilet that careless folks have tossed in there. It is difficult to argue over the convenience and with the fact that it is totally tempting to want to toss anything in there, flush, and never have to think about it again. The problem is sometimes you haven’t seen the last of it and eventually does resurface again— literally— and sometimes it gets pretty messy. Not only does it promise to put you at a risk of clog, but it is also polluting the sewage systems harshly. The following items should definitely be considerably tossed into the nearest trash can rather than our oftenly abused commode. ●

Cotton Balls/Swabs: Though small and look pretty harmless, they do not break down as they are expected to. They absorb and collect together into a larger monster in the bends of the pipes. Condoms: Though thin as tissue paper is, remember that it is made out of latex and not paper. Paper breaks down eventually when wet, but latex seems to be immortal within the sewage systems. Moist Towelettes: Much thicker and dense compared to a dry sheet of toilet paper and because of this it is much more difficult to tear apart. Band-aids: Composed of non-biodegradable plastic which becomes more susceptible to be collected and cause obstruction. Floss: A non-biodegradable product that tends to tangle itself around other items that collect within the pipeline making tiny clogs into a larger problem. Q-tips: The force of a flush is not enough to bend it, let alone decompose. When entering the wrong way, it becomes an instant problem. Diapers: A toxic plastic that expands within absorption of water with a guarantee clog.
It is only obvious to understand that if it is hard to flush it will cause potential issues. The throat of the toilet is not as wide as we think it is. The only items that should enter inside are the natural waste from our bodies, not the waste we carelessly couldn’t throw into the trash often located right beside the toilet. Besides, wouldn’t it be a little embarrassing to have any of the Westlake Plumbers pull out to discover for themselves?
