EMMANUELLE CHÂTEL BRAND MANAGER
Emmanuelle graduated in Communication & Marketing from Grenoble Business School. Moving straight into the world of publishing after graduation, a few years she left the confines of the office for wide-open spaces to experience a true adventure in the French Alps. Conquered by this lifestyle so unique, fond of sports now one thing is for certain : she won’t go far away from the mountain
PATRICK THORNE EDITOR Patrick has been a full time, year round, professional ski writer for 25 years. Nicknamed ‘The Snow Hunter’ he has located 6,000 ski areas in 80 countries and for the past decade has published a weekly bulletin of stories from ski resorts all around the planet, notching up more than 5,000 reports. He has written a dozen books on skiing, received several awards, had his work translated in to more than 20 languages and was named ‘One of 20 People to know in Ski’ by The Times.
DEBBIE GABRIEL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
DOMINIC KILLINGER PUBLISHER & OWNER
GIANCARLO GAMBARDELLA SALES MANAGER
Described by many as a serial entrepreneur. His journey into Ski Publishing started when he founded Square Mile in 2002, providing Wi-Fi on yachts (before anybody knew what Wi-Fi was). Within just 4 years, BT bought the company. At the same time, Dominic sold an online marine publishing business that was less than 12 months old! With a small pot of other business interests, his ultimate aim was to create a business that fulfilled his passion for skiing. Identifying an obvious gap in the Ski Publishing market in the 2007/8 Season, InTheSnow was launched.
Giancarlo joined InTheSnow in July 2014 heading up media sales across all our titles and digital channels, having previously worked with The Independent, The I and The Evening Standard, specialising in travel and ski. Giancarlo is a real family man with a great passion for life overall and admits that he knows “almost every word to every episode of Only Fools and Horses” as his claim to fame. He’s a kickboxer, and an all round sports fanatic. In the past he was a semi-pro footballer (weren’t we all?) and now his passion for ski and the mountains has really bitten him. He learned to ski in Norway and his second ever ski trip was to Whistler !
Debbie has a first-class, blue-chip background but her passion for skiing took over. Having been part of InTheSnow since launch she now manages the entire production process in-house.
ANDY BLEAKLEY WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT Andy spent his early childhood in Switzerland and was lucky enough to start skiing soon after his first steps. Now a keen freestyle skier (and general sports nut) who mixes a career in web design & development with skiing.
GABRIELLA LE BRETON CONTRIBUTING WRITER Gaby has skied in over 110 resorts across the world, co-wrote the Footprint ‘Skiing Europe’ guidebook and contributes articles about skiing to newspapers and magazines including The Telegraph, The Financial Times, Condé Nast Traveller.
“We are the UK’s largest ski and snowboard magazine read by almost 500,000 skiers per month. Edited by world leading ski journalist and author Patrick Thorne, it’s packed with news, features, gear reviews, resort guides and snow reports. There’s no better place to be informed about skiing or snowboarding. Visit InTheSnow.com

ecent years have seen ski areas endeavour to out-do each other on who can create the most exhilarating, or terrifying, attraction for their guests. Making use of their existing assets – very big mountains, very long drops, and very high lifts – resorts have been busily constructing glass-bottomed balconies hanging over cliffs, 3km-high zip wires, cable cars with see-through floors (or you get to ride on the roof), and a collection of rickety-looking (but in reality very stable, we hope) metal bridges and suspended walkways, thousands of metres above the valley below. Here’s our quick guide to eight of the top vertigo-challenging attractions in the Alps this winter.

10mm MARGIN
Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet before trimming. In other words, the bleed is the area to be trimmed off. As nearly all InTheSnow ad sizes run to the edge of the page, we require that all artwork supplied have at least 3mm bleed to each side. This area should not contain anything of crucial value, as it will be cut away when the final copies of the magazines are trimmed and finished, but any images or coloured backgrounds running to the very edge of your ads should run into the bleed space.

JUNIOR DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD* 350mm [W] x 200mm [H] No Bleed Required Text Area: 350mm [W] x 200mm [H]
Why do I need to keep my text 10mm from the edge of the ad artwork? As there is a certain margin of error in the trimming of all print media, we advise keeping all crucial text and logos at least 10mm (13mm including bleed) from the edge of your artwork to avoid any of this information becoming accidentally cropped during the trimming of the final magazine copies.
