BENJAKITTI PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Performing Arts Center is the space for people everywhere to gather in the same area to work or to do some activities together. Auditorium, exhibition, or lounge are examples of public space for people to enjoy arts, music and to relax. These places represent their own cultural identity to visitors who come. If we bring these public buildings or spaces to connect with the sense of park area in the center of the city, people who get into public buildings or parks can get the cultural identity between 2 places at the same time. Visitors who stay in the public building can get a sense of nature from the park. Moreover, people who exercise or walk with their families or friends in the park can be a part of the cultural identity in the public building.

This place, I decided to bring the cultural identity of the performing arts center to the park. It will get more various cultures and lifestyles of people in encouraging people from around the city to come to experience the arts and music through nature and also supports artists, performers, and actors to have their stage to perform their skills to visitors.

By the park I choose to go with the performing arts center is the Benjakitti Park in Bangkok which is suited for people who live in the city to get in by public transportation like metro railway, sky train, or bus. Mostly, this park is settled around an office, condominium, and the old house inside a community nearby. Therefore, mainly visitors will be the workers who leave from their office and work out in the park. Some people who live nearby also live to visit here for doing activities with their friends and families. For these reasons, this park is suited to correlate with performing arts centers to be public space for arts and music in Bangkok.

Creating each pattern which is inspired by nature to make people get the sense of nature and experiment with the light that suitable for building and picking 2 patterns to play with to the type of facade form (smooth and curve) by adjusting the direction and marking the spot which part the sun can come inside SOUTH ELEVATIONWEST ELEVATION
