TIPS for a Flawless Look
Bridal hair and makeup styles are like any other hair and makeup in that they move in trends and cycles. Only a few short years ago we were seeing the Smokey eye and nude lip look on the clear majority of brides accompanied by the low curly and to the side hairstyle. This was quickly surpassed by the Vintage Glamour look, where we saw luscious red lips, winged liquid eyeliner and false eyelashes to compliment the structured s-bend hair waves of our past Hollywood icons.

We have now entered the skin era, where makeup is of course, still flawless but the illusion is that of an inner glow. Perfectly sculpted cheekbones, giving off a natural radiance. Soft eyeshadow colours cleverly creating long almond shaped eyes. Long individual false lashes have taken over from the full strip lash to offer delicate and flirty eyes. Nobody can deny that eyebrows are in right now, so plenty of time is being taken to shape and define the brows with patience and precision, which when done well, frames the eye without taking over. Lips are having their cake and eating it too with a great number of brides opting for a soft pink or peach tone for the ceremony and formal photographs then changing it up to a bold colour as they return as the newly crowned Mrs to dance the night away with her awaiting reception guests. This is a wonderful way to be able to make a grand entrance twice on your special day. Hair is taking on an effortless, romantic feel which beautifully compliments the outdoors wedding with backdrops of vineyards and tropical beaches. Brides are loving the low, tousled buns at the base of the neck with unstructured volume throughout. We are seeing a shift from the intricate over sprayed up-styles to the elegance of simple, windswept looks.
Empire Artistries were also the official hair and makeup team for bridal magazine Hunter Valley Wedding Planner, as well as the official hair and makeup team at Love in the Vines wedding festival. The team will also be creating the hair and makeup looks for this years’ LOVE The Wedding Festival at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley.
