EDITORIALE /EDITORIAL Siamo giunti al via dell'ottava edizione del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma. In città, i tanti luoghi destinati alle proiezioni e agli altri eventi sono già in fibrillazione, per un'edizione che si preannuncia davvero speciale: dall'Auditorium Parco della Musica al Villaggio del Cinema, dagli spazi del MAXXI fino alle vie della capitale, Roma ospiterà una serie di eventi da capogiro, con una programmazione che coinvolge l'intera città, per iniziative non sono solo cinematografiche. Si potrà, infatti, scoprire il Mercato Internazionale del Film di Roma, o approfittare delle iniziative realizzate grazie al coinvolgimento di importanti partner privati che contribuiscono alla crescita globale dell'iniziativa. Noi di InTown abbiamo così deciso di pubblicare uno speciale Live ancora più completo e coinvolgente, per farvi vivere al meglio ogni momento tra i tanti che si susseguiranno dall'8 al 17 novembre: recensioni, retrospettive e il programma dettagliato per non perdere nemmeno un evento, ma anche consigli particolari e informazioni utili su quanto c'è da fare in giro per la città, dallo shopping tra le migliori vetrine ad una passeggiata storica tra le vie della città eterna, per rendere indimenticabile anche il tempo tra una proiezione e l'altra. Un numero speciale, per vivere il Festival nel modo più in. Buona visione a tutti!

Here we are, at the start of the eighth annual International Film Festival of Rome. The many sites around the city that are set to host screenings and events are already busy preparing for this edition which promises to be truly special; from the Auditorium Parco della Musica to the Villaggio del Cinema, the MAXXI and all the streets throughout the capital city, Rome will be home to an amazing series of events, with a program that involves the entire city in all sorts of initiatives that even go beyond the cinema. It will also be possible to explore the Mercato Internazionale del Film di Roma and the great projects that have been created through collaborations with important private partners that have contributed to the growth of this initiative worldwide. We at InTown decided to publish a special Live issue that is even more comprehensive and engaging in order to help you enjoy every moment between November 8th and 17th, including reviews, retrospectives and a detailed program to ensure you don’t miss any event. Plus we offer plenty of suggestions and special information on what to do around the city - from window shopping to historical tours through the streets of the Eternal City and how to make the best of your time between screenings. It is a special issue to experience the Festival in style. We hope you enjoy the show!

L’ottava edizione del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma si svolgerà dall’8 al 17 novembre 2013 all’Auditorium Parco della Musica. Tutte le sale dell’Auditorium, per un totale di oltre quattromila posti a sedere, saranno a disposizione del Festival. Per dieci giorni, dunque, la struttura firmata da Renzo Piano sarà il punto di riferimento per tutti gli appassionati di cinema e non solo, ospitando proiezioni, mostre, eventi, convegni, dibattiti. I 1300 mq del viale che conduce alla Cavea saranno trasformati in uno dei più grandi red carpet al mondo. Il pubblico avrà a disposizione sette sale (Santa Cecilia, Sinopoli, Petrassi, Teatro Studio, Studio 3, Auditorium MAXXI – Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, cinema Multisala Barberini). Accanto all’Auditorium sorgerà il Villaggio del Cinema, costituito da padiglioni e stand in acciaio, vetro e legno, appositamente realizzati per la manifestazione e i suoi visitatori. La programmazione del Festival coinvolgerà anche l’area di Via Veneto: la strada simbolo del cinema italiano ospiterà, presso l’Hotel Bernini Bristol e il cinema Multisala Barberini, il Mercato Internazionale del Film. I convegni si terranno presso la Casa del Cinema a Villa Borghese e al MAXXI. Incontri di settore e istituzionali si svolgeranno presso AuditoriumArte. La Selezione Ufficiale del Festival è formata da un Concorso internazionale, un Fuori Concorso che ospita le proiezioni di gala del 2013, la linea di concorso CinemaXXI, dedicata alle nuove correnti del cinema mondiale, e il concorso di Prospettive Doc Italia, che fa il punto sulle nuove linee di tendenza del cinema documentario italiano. Sezione autonoma e parallela, Alice nella città organizzerà, secondo un proprio regolamento, una rassegna di film per ragazzi.

The 8th Rome Film Festival will take place from November 8 to 17, 2013, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano. All the spaces in the Auditorium, for a total capacity of four thousand seats, will be open for the Festival. Thus, for ten days, the building complex will be the centre of attraction for professionals, journalists, and film buffs, hosting screenings, exhibitions, events, conferences, debates. The 1,300 square metres of the avenue leading to the Cavea (an open-air theatre square used) will become one of the largest red carpets in the world. The audience will have a choice of seven movie theatres (Santa Cecilia, Sinopoli, Petrassi, Teatro Studio, Studio 3, Auditorium MAXXI at the National Museum of XXI Century Arts, and the Multiplex cinema Barberini). Next to the Auditorium, the Cinema Village will feature pavilions and stands made of steel, glass, and wood, created specifically for this event and its visitors. The Festival programme will also involve the area of Via Veneto, the street that epitomizes Italian cinema, with the Rome International Film Market, The Business Street, hosted at the Hotel Bernini Bristol and the Barberini Multiplex. The panels will be held at the Casa del Cinema at Villa Borghese and at the MAXXI. Professional and institutional encounters will take place at the AuditoriumArte. The Official Selection of the Festival consists in an international Competition, an Out of Competition section with the selection of 2013 gala screenings, the CinemaXXI competitive section, dedicated to new trends in world cinema, and the Prospettive Doc Italia competition, a survey of new directions in Italian documentary filmmaking. The parallel and independent sidebar Alice nella città will organize a programme of films for young people, following its own regulations.

Woodroof oltre ad avere un carattere particolare è omofobo e ha un passato da tossicodipendente. Gli vengono dati solo trenta giorni di vita ma grazie all'aiuto di Rayon e della dottoressa Eve Sack riuscirà a sopravvivere per molto più tempo. // The story of Texas electrician Ron Woodroof and his battle with the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies after being diagnosed as HIV-positive in 1986, and his search for alternative treatments that helped established a way in which fellow HIV-positive people could join for access to his supplies.

L’amministratore è un Caronte che ci traghetta nelle varie anime della città, nei condomini dei ricchi e dei poveri, dove spesso lo scontro con il vicino diventa la valvola di sfogo... // The days of Umberto Montella, the manager of a condominium in Naples, include meetings and daily problems. The diverse and colourful group of clients tells us about life in Italy today; the manager lets us discover the different aspects of the city, bringing us in the apartments houses of the rich and the poor, where often bickering with the neighbour is the only outlet for one’s feelings.

L’idea nasce da una produzione teatrale, messa in scena solo pochissime volte per gli amici più fidati, di André Gregory, basata su Il costruttore Solness di Ibsen, adattato da Wallace Shawn. La storia di un celebre architetto prigioniero delle sue fantasie è ora un film: l’apice di un lungo e appassionato processo creativo che ha coinvolto Shawn e Gregory per 14 anni. // Oscar-winning Jonathan Demme’s Fear of Falling, a biting critique of the pursuit of wealth, is an adaptation of The Master Builder, the 19th Century play by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, which was written for the big screen by Wallace Shawn, who also plays the lead in the film. The feature film is Demme's first for a feature film since Rachel Getting Married five years ago.

Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Nel giugno del 2010 migliaia di pastori provenienti da ogni parte della Sardegna si riuniscono nel Movimento Pastori Sardi per dar luogo a una protesta clamorosa. Durante una lunga estate i pastori invadono porti, aeroporti, strade, inondano le vie di Cagliari, occupano il palazzo della Regione per cercare di ottenere dignità e un giusto prezzo per il loro prodotto principale: il latte. // In June 2010, thousands of shepherds from every part of Sardinia came together from all over the island in the Movimento Pastori Sardi to begin a sensational protest. During the long summer, the shepherds invade the ports, airports and roads; they flood the streets of Cagliari and take over the Regional Authority palace in an attempt to regain their dignity and establish a fair price for their main product: milk.

Un anziano scultore vaga nel cimitero di Hope, interrogando le tombe dei lavoratori della pietra che all’inizio del ‘900 partendo da Carrara e da mezza Europa giunsero a Barre, nel Vermont, dove si aprivano le più grandi cave di granito del mondo. Un viaggio metafisico nel presente della provincia americana, in cui i vivi prestano voce e corpo ai fantasmi dei loro avi. Un affresco sorprendente che ritrae l’epopea tragica di un’intera comunità impegnata nella perenne e titanica lotta contro la pietra. // An elderly sculptor wanders through the cemetery of Hope, questioning the tombs of stonemasons who in the early 1900s set off from Carrara and central Europe for Barre, Vermont, where the largest granite quarries in the world were being opened. It is a metaphysical journey in small-town America, where the living give a voice and a body to the ghosts of their ancestors. A surprising fresco that depicts the tragic tale of an entire community involved in the perennial and titanic struggle against the stone.

Abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di parlare con Marco Müller, direttore artistico del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma e del Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Venezia sull’importanza che rivestono oggi i festival cinematografici, come delle tendenze e degli attesissimi film che parteciperanno a questa edizione. // We had the opportunity to talked with Marco Müller, artistic director for the International Film Festival of Rome & Venice International Film Festival about the importance of film festivals today, as well as the trends and highly anticipated films participating in this year’s event.

Quali sono le sfide più importanti che deve affrontare come direttore artistico del Festival o “Festa”?

What are the main challenges you face as artistic director of the film festival?

La sfida più difficile è trovare film impegnati che possano essere apprezzati da un pubblico ampio e vario. Vogliamo veramente mettere insieme un mix di elementi che riflettano sia la cultura che le attuali tendenze di mercato e, in definitiva, presentare i migliori prodotti del cinema italiano e americano.

The most important challenge is finding complex films that can be appreciated by a wide audience. We really want to bring together a diverse mix of elements that reflects both the culture and the market today and, ultimately, present the finest examples of contemporary Italian and American cinema.

Che ruolo gioca oggigiorno una rassegna cinematografica?

What is the role of a film festival/festa in today’s world?

Un festival del cinema è il luogo dove trovare le risposte alle carenze del mainstream. Ci dà qualcosa di diverso; rappresenta l’opportunità di celebrare, promuovere prospettive diverse, e lanciarle sul mercato. In definitiva, un festival del cinema può prolungare la vita di un film e più in generale, aiutare l’arte a sopravvivere.

A festival is where you will find the answers to what is lacking in the mainstream. It gives us something different; it is an opportunity to celebrate, promote and launch different perspectives, bring them into the market. In the end, a festival can prolong the life of a film and help the art as whole to survive.

Sulla base di quali criteri vengono selezionati i film in concorso?

What is the criteria for choosing the films for the festival?

Io cerco film che vadano dritti allo stomaco, che sappiano muovere le corde del cuore e toccare le nostre emozioni, per poi condurci verso aspetti più razionali. Quando seleziono i film, mi siedo in fondo alla sala, dietro gli altri spettatori, e prendo note. Osservo come reagiscono al film e l’indicatore più importante sono le pieghe dei loro pantaloni. La considero la prova del “cavallo dei pantaloni”. Con questo intendo dire che un buon film cattura l’attenzione del pubblico; quando gli spettatori sono incollati alla poltrona, ipnotizzati dal film, ecco, questo è un segno; ma se li vedi muoversi continuamente o cercare distratti il cellulare, allora sfido l’idea che quel film possa meritare di partecipare a un festival.

I look for films that have the gut factor, that really pull at the heart strings and touch our emotions, and then lead into something more rational. When I screen the films, I sit behind the others and take notes. I watch how they react to the film and the biggest indicator I look for are the wrinkles in their pants. I call this the test of the “cavallo dei pantaloni,” which doesn’t translate well into English, but it’s the seat of your pants. By this I mean that a good film captures audience members; if they are glued to their seats and hypnotized by a film that is a strong clue, but if they are moving around, agitated, checking their phones and distracted, then I would challenge the idea that the film is festival worthy.

E quali sono i criteri per formare una giuria?

And what is the criteria for choosing the jury for the festival?

La filosofia del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma, che io chiamo “Festa”, è il movimento. Si rivolge ad un pubblico molto vario e punta a costruire una relazione di complicità e fiducia con lo spettatore; è il ponte che conduce il pubblico del mainstream verso un cinema più concettuale e controverso, in una sola serata. Per questa ragione è importante che le giurie siano composte da persone che hanno visto un’infinità di pellicole. Mi piacerebbe portare in giuria esperti provenienti da campi diversi, come la musica o l’arte, perché sarebbe interessante includere prospettive differenti. Ad ogni modo, penso che sia importante che i membri di una giuria conoscano gli stili e le tecniche contemporanee e non siano eccessivamente influenzati da ciò che ritengono insolito.

The philosophy of the Rome Film Festival, which I refer to as a “festa”, is movement. It addresses a very diverse audience and works to build a relationship of complicity and trust with spectators; it is a bridge that takes average viewers from the mainstream to the more conceptual and controversial - all in the same evening. For that reason, it’s really important that the juries be made up of people who have seen a lot of films. I’d like to bring people from different fields - like music or art - into the jury because it would be interesting to include their perspective. I think it’s important, however, that jury members be familiar with latest styles and techniques and not be overly influenced by elements they think are novel.

Ha notato un filo conduttore o un tema dominante tra i film presentati quest’anno?

What trends have you seen in the films selected this year?

È difficile fare una categorizzazione perché sono tutti molto diversi l’uno dall’altro. Tuttavia, in generale i film presentati quest’anno tendono a porre domande sul futuro, e per fare ciò, devono anche riflettere sul passato e il presente. Tutti guardano in modo diverso alla società e si interrogano sulla nostra apertura mentale; alcuni lo fanno in modo serio, altri con un approccio più umoristico.

It’s difficult to lump them together because they are all very different from each other. In general, though, the films this year are really questioning our future, and to do that, they must also question the past and even the present. In different ways they all look at our society, and question our openness as a culture; some do this in a profound way and some are more humorous. In your opinion, what films are going to be the most talked about this year?

Secondo lei quali saranno i film più discussi di questa edizione? Beh, spero che ognuno dei film presenti al festival faccia parlare, ma credo che i più discussi saranno gli stessi annunciati da tempo, film di cui la gente sta già parlando. Tra questi Her e The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire, per nominarne un paio. Se poi volete sapere quali sono i più attesi, consultate il programma delle proiezioni.

Well, I hope each one will create a buzz, but I think the most discussed will be those that are highly anticipated at this point, the films that people are already talking about. Those include, Her and The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire, to name a couple. If you want to know which ones are expected to be hits, however, just look at the evening schedule of screenings.

QMI: il futuro del market entertainment // QMI: the future of market entertainment A partire dal 2008 nasce in Italia un nuovo segmento nel mercato del cinema: i contenuti alternativi. Si iniziano ad utilizzare le opportunità tecnologiche offerte dal digitale per diversificare l’offerta. Quando questa iniziativa ha mosso i primi passi era quasi una scommessa, oggi invece cresce con percentuali annue del 50%. // In 2008, a new segment in the film market was born in Italy: alternative contents. Proprio nel 2008, QMI è stata la prima agenzia che ha deciso di sfruttare l’evoluzione tecnologica (l’utilizzo del proiettore digitale, del satellite e dei server) per portare la musica nelle sale cinematografiche con concerti live, materiali inediti e docufilm. Dopo i recenti successi di Vasco Live Kom 011, che ha raggiunto quota 370.000 euro al box office, e Springsteen&I, il docufilm sulla carriera musicale del Boss, con cui l’Italia ha ottenuto il secondo miglior risultato dopo gli Stati Uniti, QMI torna a portare sul grande schermo contenuti musicali di grande livello: da Sympathy for the Devil, documentario sui Rolling Stones del grande regista francese Jean-Luc Godard, a Can’t Stand Losing You sui Police fino ad arrivare ad Africa Unite, in onore di Bob Marley. Con il successo dell’”emancipazione” del cinema dai prodotti più classici, anche l’opera lirica e il balletto hanno fatto il loro debutto sul grande schermo. Infatti, da settembre 2013 a giugno 2014, l’agenzia ha il progetto ambizioso di distribuire in circa 70 cinema di tutta Italia 10 appuntamenti in diretta dalla Royal Opera House di Londra, storico tempio dello spettacolo, un’occasione eccezionale di vivere l’esperienza di uno dei più importanti teatri del mondo, a pochi passi da casa e ad un prezzo accessibile per tutti i curiosi e gli appassionati. QMI inoltre ripropone sul grande schermo i capolavori cinematografici del passato, restaurati e da riscoprire: da C’era una volta in America di Sergio Leone a Fear and Desire, il debutto registico di Stanley Kubrick, da La donna che visse due volte (Vertigo) di Alfred Hitchcock al primo “college movie” della storia, Animal House. Durante il 2014, sono previsti diversi cicli che ripoteranno al cinema, in versione restaurata, i film che hanno fatto la storia del cinema. Grazie alla collaborazione con ALF (Andrea Leone Films), sono infatti in programma cinque grandi pellicole western del maestro Sergio Leone: Per qualche dollaro in più, Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo, C’era una volta il West, Giù la testa e Il mio nome è nessuno (quest'ultimo solo prodotto da Leone). In occasione del ventesimo anniversario della morte di uno dei più importati attori italiani, Gian Maria Volontè, il prossimo anno QMI riporterà al cinema Uomini Contro di Francesco Rosi, La classe operaia va in paradiso di Elio Petri e Sbatti il mostro in prima pagina di Marco Bellocchio. Per il ciclo Horror, l’agenzia di distribuzione propone tre titoli, di cui due grandi cult che hanno fatto la storia del genere: La notte dei morti viventi di George Romero, Incubo sulla città incontaminata di Umberto Lenzi e One for the Fire: The Legacy of Night of the Living Dead, documentario di Chris Roe e Robert Lucas sulla realizzazione del sopracitato La notte dei morti viventi. Infine, in onore del grande regista Franco Zeffirelli, QMI riporterà sul grande schermo il capolavoro sulla vita di San Francesco Fratello sole, sorella luna. Si preannuncia un 2014 da vivere al cinema!

In the same year, QMI was the first agency that decided to take advantage of this technological evolution (the use of digital projectors, satellites and servers) in order to bring music into movie theatres in the form of live concerts, previously unreleased material and documentaries. Following the recent success of Vasco Live Kom 011, which made €370,000 at the box office and Springsteen&I, a documentary on the Boss’ musical career where the screening in Italy was second only to the United States, QMI is now bringing more high-quality musical content to the big screen. This includes everything from Sympathy for the Devil, a documentary on the Rolling Stones by the great French director, Jean-Luc Godard, to Can’t Stand Losing You about The Police, all the way to Africa Unite, a tribute to Bob Marley. This “emancipation” of the movie theatre from more classical products has also opened the doors to opera and ballet, which have debuted on the big screen. In fact, for September 2013 to June 2014, the agency has designed an ambitious project to screen 10 live events from the historic temple of the performing arts - the Royal Opera House of London - in nearly 70 cinemas all around Italy. It is set to be a special occasion to experience live shows at one of the most important theatres in the world, in a local cinema and at a price that is affordable for all enthusiasts. QMI will also present restored cinematic masterpieces on the big screen, from Once Upon a Time in America by Sergio Leone to Fear and Desire, the directorial debut of Stanley Kubrick, from Vertigo by Alfred Hitchcock to the first “college movie”, Animal House. In 2014, various programs of restored films that have made cinematic history will be shown in the cinema. Thanks to the collaboration with ALF (Andrea Leone Films), the program includes five great westerns by the master Sergio Leone: For a Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, Duck, You Sucker! and My Name is Nobody (the latter only produced by Leone). In remembrance of the 12th anniversary of the death of one of the most influential Italian actors, Gian Maria Volontè, next year QMI will bring the following films back to the cinema: Many Wars Ago by Francesco Rosi, The Working Class Goes to Heaven by Elio Petri and Sbatti il Mostro in Prima Pagina by Marco Bellocchio. For the Horror program, the distribution agency has three films lined up, two of which are big cult classics that are part of the genre’s foundation: The Night of the Living Dead by George Romero, Nightmare City by Umberto Lenzi and One for the Fire: The Legacy of Night of the Living Dead, a documentary by Chris Roe and Robert Lucas on the implementation of the above-mentioned The Night of the Living Dead. Finally, in honour of the great director Franco Zeffirelli, QMI will be presenting his masterpiece on life of St. Francis, Brother Sun, Sister Moon. Next year promises to be full of excitement in the cinema!

Di sicuro è identico il metodo di lavoro: tutto, con l'esclusione dell'orlatura, viene realizzato totalmente a mano, dalla misura del piede alla consegna del prodotto finito. Il modello in carta della pianta viene ritagliato sulla pelle e sapientemente lavorato dalle mani dei Marini fino all'assemblaggio finale. La scarpa è concepita secondo la tradizione dell'antica "ars sutoria" italiana, attraverso un procedimento lungo più di 40 ore e composto da oltre 200 distinte operazioni. // Today, in the Marini workshop, it seems like nothing has changed since 1899. The work method has certainly not changed. Except for the stitching, everything is done by hand: from measuring the foot to delivery of the finished product. The paper mould is cut on the leather and expertly worked by Carlo’s hands and he personally oversees the final assembly. The shoes are designed according to the Italian "ars sutoria" tradition through a lengthy process that includes more than 200 separate steps and takes over 40 hours to complete.

Visitors are led on a journey - through paintings, video installations, sounds and live art - that is both dreamlike and very real, which is on the verge of being voyeuristic and humorous. The Icons&Idols exhibit is on display at La Pelanda in Piazza Orazio Giustiniani, October 31 November 30.

Un uomo tanto chiuso e diffidente quanto eccentrico che, inaspettatamente, si innamora di una donna, reale, concreta e misteriosa che gli ruberà anche l’anima: Claire Ibbetson. Di quei volti, centotrenta diventano una mostra a scopo benefico. Nel foyer Santa Cecilia dell’Auditorium del Parco della Musica, vengono esposti al pubblico i quadri utilizzati durante le riprese del film.

La migliore offerta. Geoffrey Rush plays Virgil Olman, a wealthy auctioneer and collector fascinated by the faces of hundreds of women in portraits made by the hands of invaluable artists. He is a man as much closed off and suspicious as he is eccentric. He unexpectedly, falls in love with a woman - a real, tangible woman who is mysterious and will steal his soul - named Claire Ibbetson. Of those portraits, 130 have become an exhibit for charity. The paintings used during the filming of the movie will be on display in the Santa Cecilia foyer of the Auditorium del Parco.

The exhibit presents some of the most significant photographs selected from the archive of Mario Tursi which were shot on set by the director Massimo Troisi. The images by Massimo show the naked Neapolitan soul, between hope and disillusionment, happiness and melancholy, strictness and improvisation.

A quarant’anni dalla morte di Anna Magnani, la mostra Ritratto di Anna è un omaggio alla straordinaria interprete di capolavori come Roma città aperta (1945), L’onorevole Angelina (1947) Bellissima (1951), La rosa tatuata (1955), film che le valse l’Oscar e Mamma Roma (1962). Un tributo all’icona della romanità, all’attrice che nella storia del cinema ha più di ogni altra incarnato lo spirito della città eterna. La mostra fotografica racconta una delle più interessanti personalità dello show business italiano del Novecento, la cui storia si intreccia con quella della società e dei suoi cambiamenti.

Forty years after the death of Anna Magnani, the exhibit “Ritratto di Anna” (Portrait of Anna) is a tribute to an extraordinary interpreter of masterpieces such as Rome, Open City (1945), L’onorevole Angelina (1947), Bellissima (1951), The Rose Tattoo (1955) which earned an Oscar, and Mamma Roma (1962). It honours an icon of Rome, an actress who, throughout the history of cinema, embodied the spirit of the Eternal City more than anyone else. The photographic exhibit tells her story by making a complex and controversial portrait of one of the most interesting characters in 20th century Italian show business who intertwined with the culture and its evolution.

Historic photographs taken from the most important film and fashion archives have been reinterpreted in a contemporary way by photographer Antonio Barrella in a fantastic mash-up of the symbolic places in the Eternal City.

I LUOGHI DEL FESTIVAL / FESTIVAL VENUES L’ottava edizione si svolgerà presso l’Auditorium Parco della Musica di Roma. La struttura firmata dall'architetto Renzo Piano ospiterà le proiezioni dei film e il red carpet, oltre a incontri, mostre, eventi. Tutte le sale dell'Auditorium saranno a disposizione del Festival. I 1300 mq del viale che conduce alla Cavea dell'Auditorium saranno trasformati in uno dei più grandi red carpet al mondo. AuditoriumArte ospiterà gli eventi collaterali. Al MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, progettato dall'architetto Zaha Hadid, si svolgerà una parte del programma del Festival, in particolare di CinemaXXI. Il Mercato Internazionale del Film di Roma si svolgerà nell’area di Via Veneto. Di fronte all’Auditorium sarà allestita un’area con servizi per il pubblico e gli accreditati. Altri luoghi della città accoglieranno proiezioni ed eventi del Festival e iniziative collaterali dedicate al cinema, organizzate in occasione e in accordo con la manifestazione. // The eighth edition of the Festival will take place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica – in the heart of Rome, near Villa Borghese, via Veneto, and Via del Corso - which will be the set for the film screenings, the red carpet, and other events. The Auditorium designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano will host the Festival in all its prestigious venues. During the event, the 1,300 square meters avenue which leads to the spectacular Cavea of the Auditorium will be transformed into one of the largest red carpets in the world. The nearby MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts, designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid - will be the venue for part of the Festival programme, and in particular for CinemaXXI. Sala Santa Cecilia, Sala Sinopoli, Sala Petrassi, Teatro Studio, Studio 3, Fra i luoghi dell’Auditorium aperti al pubblico, ci saranno i Foyer e AuditoriumArte: in quest’ultimo spazio, dal 9 al 17 novembre, Rai Movie proietterà un programma dedicato a Federico Fellini. Tutti gli spazi dell’Auditorium sono accessibili ai disabili. // The heart of the Rome Film Festival will be the Auditorium Parco della Musica with its screening rooms: Sala Santa Cecilia, Sala Sinopoli, Sala Petrassi, Teatro Studio, Studio Tre.
