WHO WE ARE Intrepid Spirits is a brand owner with a difference. Our mission is to tell authentic brand stories to a new breed of discerning and educated consumers. Our diverse portfolio is built on 3 pillars, each of which shapes the way we do business. Authenticity; we build brands that are steeped in history or shrouded in mystery. Heritage; we go back through generations of farmers, maltsters, bottlers and distillers. Human Touch; our spirits are handcrafted, using local suppliers and traditional methods. With over 35 years of industry experience behind us, we are focused on developing a craft portfolio that is both exciting and sought after.

TH E SACRE D SPI R I T OF THE ANDES Cocalero is a range of South American herbal spirits, crafted from the highest quality coca leaves, which are grown in the valleys and jungle regions of the Andes. The leaves are harvested by hand, slow-dried and distilled, before being mixed with select botanicals, including guarana, ginseng and juniper.
EXCEPTIONAL BOTANICALS Cocalero Clรกsico is crafted from over seventeen botanicals sourced from around the world but rooted in South America. Our botanical blend includes Coca Leaf, Guarana, Ginger and Juniper.
EXTRORDINARY CRAFTING We extract these delicate flavours using a proprietary steam distillation process, pioneered by the perfume industry. This gentle technique ensures the natural flavours and aromas burst through.
EXTREMELY VERSATILE Bottled at 29% alc., Cocalero Clรกsico is extremely versatile and is driven by its abundantly wide range of applications; enjoyed quietly at home, in your neighbourhood bar or at the centre of any party! Served with tonic water, as a chilled shot or in a craft cocktail.
CRAFTED IN THE SHADOW OF THE DEVIL’S TOOTH Inspired by the Cocalero, who passionately ply their ancient trade in the jungle regions of the Andes Mountains.Cocalero de Altura is a superior distillate of remarkable complexity and vivid aromas. LOCALLY SOURCED BOTANICALS Cocalero de Altura is carefully crafted from hand selected Andean and Amazonian botanicals. For each batch, our master distiller forages through the markets of LaPaz, Bolivia, to seek out the highest quality botanicals and fruits. Coca Leaf, Tumbo, Quirquiña, Huacataya, Locoto Pepper, Cacao, Cuapazú, Wild Amazonian Cilantro, Canelón Tree Bark and Palo Santo are just a selection of the natural ingredients that are gathered and macerated for a minimum 40 days. DISTILLED AT HIGH ALTITUDE Our distillery is situated at 12,000 ft. above sea level in LaPaz, Bolivia.Distilling spirit at high altitude means our stills can work at lower temperatures, resulting in cleaner more defined aromas, delivering the true essence of the botanicals. The resulting distillate rests for a minimum of 30 days before being cut with natural spring water from the Cordillera Real mountain range.

THE ORIGINAL CRAFT SPIRIT
THE NAME POITÍN (PRONOUNCED: ‘PUT-CHEEN’) IS IRISH FOR ‘SMALL POT’ , POITÍN WAS TRADITIONALLY DISTILLED IN SMALL COPPER POT STILLS. POITÍN IS A SPIRIT THAT PREDATES ANYTHING YOU’VE EVER TASTED, INCLUDING WHISKEY. FIRST DISTILLED BY IRISH MONKS IN THE 6TH CENTURY, POITÍN HAS PLAYED A CENTRAL ROLE IN IRISH DRINKING CULTURE FOR CENTURIES.
“The iconic brand’s aromatic signature is downright irresistible. Blindfolded you’d swear Mad March Hare had been well matured in oak.” Robert Plotkin, Author & Judge - SF World Spirits.
MAD MARCH HARE AWARDS
DRIVEN UNDERGROUND
THE REVIVAL
2016 Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.2016 Gold at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
Ireland’s oldest spirit was FORCED UNDERGROUND in 1661, by the British crown, who tried to tax it to the hilt. However, Ireland’s love affair with Poitín never died and it was SECRETLY DISTILLED for over 300 years.
Legalised in 1997, Irish Poitín is returning to prominence. At Mad March Hare we are playing our part in the revival of Ireland’s most original spirit. You won’t find a spirit with a more intriguing story than Poitín!
LOCALLY SOURCED Mad March Hare uses only the best, locally sourced, malted barley. As you would expect, fine Irish Poitín needs fine local ingredients, thus, most of our suppliers are farmers within a couple of miles of our stills.
COPPER POT STILLS
RECIPE NO27
Commonly used to distill whiskey and brandy, copper pot stills were first used in the production of Irish Poitín. We maintain this long and rich tradition, as copper has catalytic properties that more modern ‘column stills’ cannot match.
RECIPE NO27 harks back to a bygone era in Irish distilling. Such was the demand for Mooney’s famous Poitín; he braved the wildest Irish weather and the long arm of the law to serve his loyal customers. He was known locally for being ‘AS MAD AS A MARCH HARE’!
