T
he Government of El Salvador seeks to improve the business climate for the establishment of investments, the facilitation of international trade and security as a guarantee to establish business in the country, protecting the essential rights and civil liberties of citizens through its political system. That is why our country has a broad path of implementation of extraordinary security measures for the prevention, combat and eradication of crime and social violence that hamper citizen security and consequently, human development.
HIGHLIGHTS SECURITY EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES RESULTS Since the implementation of extraordinary measures (April – December 2016) the daily average of homicides reduced in 45%. Low of the incidence of delinquency, reducing it to 12.9% of crimes in general.
1. REDUCTION OF DELINQUENCY RATES
Reduction of rates in other crimes: theft 3.7%, robbery 10.8%, injuries 22.3%, extortion 7.9%, vehicle theft 35.9%. Increase in detentions: by administrative order, 46.6% and by judicial order 6.4%. Increase in arrests for homicide of 17.9% and dismantling of 290 gang structures. El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala officially commenced operations on the Trinational Anti-Gang Force at the Kenedy stadium in Ocotepeque, Honduras.
