T
he Government of El Salvador is constantly making an effort to improve safety and investment climate. To accomplish this goal, the government has been implementing extraordinary security measures, emphasized in the fight and prevention against violence and crime in our country. Results are noticeable just a few months after their implementation. One result that stands out is the decrease of 50 % in homicides and the opening of bigger development opportunities for communities.

s stated in Plan El Salvador Seguro (PESS) (El Salvador´s Safe Plan), the government of El Salvador recently implemented a set of 124 actions which are a priority, in the short, medium and long term, to fight violence and crime, guarantee access to justice, and victim protection. These have had the following results:
Extraordinary Measures Results 1. Actions against violent groups of gangs
887 detentions, 121 seizures of weapons, 20 rescues of people deprived of liberty and 12 dismantling of gang camps have taken place. Security Forces have requisitioned fire weapons, drugs and drug substances,
