The Investment Law seeks to encourage private investment and more specifically, Foreign Direct Investment. This Law grants equal rights and treatment to all investors (foreign and local), permits the transfer of funds abroad with the freedom to convert currency through the banking system and protects the property.

In Latin America ranks in the 6th position and worldwide it is 69th out of 139 countries. Some of the available telecommunications services in El Salvador include high speed data transfers, metropolitan fiber optic, networks, international private lines, VoIP, broadband internet (including cable and fiber optic access), wireless internet and 800 numbers, among others.
