Introduction from Nexus Media Group Welcome to the EducationInvestor Awards 2022! It is a great pleasure to welcome you all to the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel London to celebrate your successes and achievements in the business of education, recognising those that have made an outstanding contribution to the industry. In the last few months, the country has faced a very challenging time. The cost of living crisis has shown no sign of easing, with inflation reaching its highest level in the last 40 years. Food prices and energy bills have skyrocketed, rents have risen and interest rates have increased, affecting households all over the country. Furthermore, political turmoil and governmental instability have spread uncertainty and volatility across the markets. Winds of a recession have started to blow and a concrete plan for a full economic recovery is not yet on the horizon. However, education is a resilient sector and despite the challenges that it might face, it will be able to show once again extraordinary strength, innovation and creativity. Recognising excellence and supporting great achievements is even more important when the country is going through a challenging time. We are therefore delighted to be here this evening to celebrate the industry’s successes and the outstanding work that so many companies and organisations have done over the year. This is reflected by the remarkable submissions that we have received and the high-quality work of our 2022 finalists, which have made it very difficult to choose tonight’s winners. Thank you all for your excellent work and best of luck when your category comes up. Thank you also to all our event partners for this evening. Events like the EducationInvestor Awards would not be possible without their support, and this is hugely appreciated. We hope you have a great night and good luck if you are up for an award! former flatmate Mackenzie Crook. As well as appearing on TV, Iain has made quite a name for himself on the radio, spending three years on LBC before moving to Virgin and Absolute for a further four years. He then went on to host the Breakfast Show on BBC Three Counties and, in 2013 he was honoured to win the prestigious Nick Clarke for his challenging interview with the head of

In addition to his work on BBC3CR Iain also hosted a Saturday morning phone-in show on BBCWM and, in May 2014, he made his 5Live debut hosting ‘Saturday Edition’. He was

subsequently invited back by the network to host further shows. In the spring of 2016, Iain was unveiled as the host of the late-night phone in show on talkRadio and in the summer of 2022, Iain was unveiled as the host of Iain Lee’s Morning Glory on Jack FM. In 2017, I’m A Celebrity became the next challenge and Iain took it on with aplomb. Eventually finishing third overall, Iain came back from Australia to be greeted by an adoring public, a contract extension on his talkRadio show and a myriad of presenting opportunities including Good Morning
