Public space design

I did some research on public space design so I could get some inspiration for the surrounding area of the airport building

I want to keep using simple geometric shapes in order to create overlapping designs to also give a sense of dimension

I sketched out the outline of the land area I will be using

I decided to firstly place the airport building and then work around it

I then realised that there should also be a parking so that people would be able to leave their cars so I designed a simple parking near to the main road and main entrance to the land area

Then I drew out the runways and I didn’t want to make it to a simple straight line so I made them more curvy except for the end bit where the airplanes have to take off

The public space designs helped me decide that I want to stay with the triangular shapes to create the greedy bit around the runways to also help make it look more interesting when seen from a plan view

There will also be specific drawn out areas infront of the building where the airplanes would be placed

After I added some colour to help figure out how the outcome will look like

The greenery will have smaller pieces that will overlap and some will have flowers to give it more colour and dimension

The airport will be made from sustainable materials and have a lot of natural lighting

The parking is very simple since it’s multiple hexagons of different sizes but the interior is even more simple since it would be squares where people would be able to park

There would be a main road which leads firstly to the parking and then the airport

It will be an interesting design seen from a plan view
