Does CoolSculpting really work?

We get the lowdown from a CoolSculpting client at Cavendish Clinic

BEFORE AFTER

We’ve all dreamt of losing our love handles forever. And we’ve all heard about a myriad different treatments available on the market. So, where to start and what to choose? Celia Brown, a 32-year-old client at Cavendish Clinic London, attended the clinic earlier this year to finally tackle her body confidence issues head on. Here she shares her CoolSculpting experience with us…

Why did you decide to try

CoolSculpting? I have always felt insecure about my lower abdomen and would try to hide it. I had thought about surgical treatments but chose to try CoolSculpting as it’s noninvasive and has minimal risks. It also, importantly, has FDA clearance ensuring safety and efficacy. Basically, CoolSculpting gently freezes the targeted fat cells without damaging any surrounding tissue. Your body then gets rid of them safely and naturally through your lymphatic system and they are gone for good.

The Cavendish Clinic has a high level of expertise in the procedure and they made me feel at ease.

What exactly does the treatment

involve? I had one treatment which involved four applicators being applied with a gentle vacuum that grabs hold of the fat pockets. When each applicator finished, my practitioner massaged the tissue vigorously for a few minutes to help warm the skin up again. The whole process was over in about three hours. Does it hurt? The cold is like a tingling sensation on your skin but it goes numb pretty quickly which makes it more bearable. The massage process isn’t very comfortable either and you feel a slight pulsing as the skin warms up. But it only lasts a few minutes. So what’s your verdict? I am extremely pleased with the results. So much so that I plan to treat more areas. It takes three months before you see the full effect, but my lower abdomen is pretty much in line with my upper now, and I feel much more confident and secure about myself. Is it worth the money? 100 per cent.

Are you ready to shine?

The team at Dr Nestor’s share their insider tips to beautiful, glowing skin sure to turn heads this party season

After the effective cancelling of Christmas last year, there is palpable excitement about party season this year. Aside from booking salon appointments and perfecting a wardrobe for the whirl of social engagements that December will undoubtedly bring, there is another route to achieving head-turner status. We asked the team from Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre which treatments they would recommend to ensure you look your absolute best... Dr Rona, Aesthetic Doctor “Profhilo is my go-to treatment if I want my face to have a radiant glow. The treatment utilises a high concentration of 100% pure hyaluronic acid and is a completely natural injectable. In just two sessions, it offers effective skin bio-remodelling. This allows a beautiful layer of moisture to be spread across the entire surface just under the skin, leaving skin with an unrivalled radiance and a hydrated and plumped appearance, eradicating tiny lines and imperfections - this is why it has been dubbed the real life, walking around filter!”

Helen, Skincare Therapist “For me, there is no noninvasive treatment on the market that can compete with the transformational benefits that Secret RF boasts. Suitable for all skin types, this fractional radio frequency (RF) microneedling system uses ultrafine needles, which gently penetrate your skin and deliver RF energy sub-dermally, stimulating collagen production to revitalize the skin. It can also be used on the eyelids and neck to improve the quality of the skin, enhance collagen content and tighten any lax skin. Best of all, there is minimal downtime so it is a real game-changer in the journey to beautiful skin.”

Amanda, Aesthetic Nurse “When used in correct amounts and expertly placed, lip fillers can be a terrific aesthetic tool for helping you age well or even enhance those features that Mother Nature forgot. I always start by analysing facial anatomy so my patient will have the most flattering result. Initially, conservative results should be the goal so the change is not too drastic - remember, you can ALWAYS add more later. By using hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, there is little chance of an allergic reaction. Your lips are an incredibly important facial feature and by tweaking them to be as beautiful as possible, it will have a stellar impact on your self-esteem.”
