My Style Andrew Dick, owner of Dick’s on timeless style and his anti-fashion stance

MYSTYLE Andrew Dick

The owner of Dick’s on timeless style, the Dominic Cummings look and his own version of the f-word

SIGNATURE LOOK I like to wear classic, well-made clothes for living in. I’m not a style obsessive so I look for timeless pieces. WARDROBE MUST-HAVES I have quite a collection of field jackets and shirts; Madras and seersucker for summer, flannel for winter, chambray and oxford all year round. STYLE NO-NOS Micro-down gilets. CRIMES AGAINST FASHION The Dominic Cummings look. STYLE ICONS Woody Allen and Seinfield’s George Castanza! STORE SECRETS We spend a lot of time choosing the best manufacturers from around the world. Researching brands; visiting showrooms and trade fairs. The ones we stock are the ones that really stand out in terms of fabrics and production. It’s them that make the shop special. FASHION PHILOSOPHY I’m afraid fashion is our “f-word”. We try not to follow any trends. We prefer classic, well-made clothes that will last many years and get better with age. FUTURE PLANS Just surviving Covid and Brexit feels like an achievement. Just keep on keeping on.

A radiant new arrival…

Clé de Peau Beauté, Japan’s #1 luxury skincare brand, is finally launching in Scotland…and it’s right here in Edinburgh

Luxury beauty powerhouse Clé de Peau Beauté was founded in Japan in 1982 with the mission to forge new frontiers in advanced skin cell science. Based upon decades of research and with a sophisticated combination of cuttingedge Japanese technology and precious ingredients, scientists unlocked the power of Skin Intelligence – skin’s innate ability to distinguish between good and bad stimuli to achieve and maintain its ideal condition. Clé de Peau Beauté products were created to empower skin to achieve this highly desired state-of-harmony - the key to skin’s radiance and optimal qualities of skin texture, tone, and contour. Coveted by women around the world, the brand launched its very first European boutique in Harrods, Knightsbridge in 2019. Now, in 2021, the brand is launching in its second UK location in H-Beauty Edinburgh - bringing its radiant journey to life for the first time to beauty lovers outside of London on the 30th November. Here’s five very good reasons to check it out…

1

THE PROMISE OF RADIANCE

Clé de Peau Beauté literally means ‘The Key to Skin’s Beauty,’ which they believe for the brand, is radiance. Everything Clé de Peau Beauté does is an expression of this; from their intelligent skincare science to the exquisite results delivered by the products and the joy one feels as a result. The brand’s core routine is aptly named Key Radiance Care – an advanced 3-step skincare ritual masterfully crafted to reveal incredibly smooth, supple skin with a glow that evolves over time.

Key Radiance Care 3-Step Ritual: From left to right; Le Sérum, £215, Hydro-Softening Lotion, £100, Protective Fortifying Cream, £110.

2

THE ICONIC LE SÉRUM

Clé de Peau Beauté’s promise of radiance is perhaps no better realised than in the brand icon, Le Sérum. A serum to awaken the skin to activate the source of profound vitality and radiance; drop by drop, this precious serum helps relieve daily skin concerns. Once applied, the silky texture is instantly absorbed for supremely soft, supple skin, vibrant and glowing with energy.

3

THE EXCLUSIVE INGREDIENT SKIN-EMPOWERING ILLUMINATOR

Skin-Empowering Illuminator is the brand’s groundbreaking complex bringing together 5 key ingredients to enhance skin’s intuitive ability to repair and defend itself. In addition to the complex’s Platinum Golden Silk Essence, Japanese Pearl Shell Extract and Theanine, Skin-Empowering Illuminator is formulated with Perilla Extract and Angelica Acutiloba Extract to reignite skin from within.

La Crème, from £520.

THE LUSTED AFTER LA CRÈME

Famed for being more expensive per gram than gold at launch, the coveted anti-ageing night cream is now in its eighth iteration since first launching in 1982. Each new creation is promised to be more potent and innovative than its predecessor, with the latest La Crème featuring the breakthrough complex Skin empowering illuminator in the highest potency of any Clé de Peau Beauté product. The results? Upon waking skin feels rejuvenated, incredibly smooth and supple to the touch, and visibly firmer.

A luxuriously creamy, stick concealer that enables precise application and effortless blending, the Clé de Peau Beauté concealer leaves the skin looking smooth and refined with a seamless finish whilst also providing that much needed SPF 25+ and UV protection.
