2021 IPA Foundation Silent Auction

During the 2021 IPA Annual Meeting, $5,473 was raised for the IPA Foundation and student scholarships through a virtual silent auction. Friendly competition started among bidders of Nancy Bell’s charcuterie spread, Diane Reist’s jellies, First Lady Jennifer Clayton’s artwork, and more!

STEP, CYCLE, SWING for Student Scholarships

In August of 2021, the IPA Foundation hosted its second successful STEP, CYCLE, SWING fundraiser, encouraging members to get active however they enjoy – whether running, biking, golfing, or performing any other activity – to raise money for student scholarships. 60 members participated in this year’s event, raising nearly $7,000 for student pharmacists at Drake University and the University of Iowa. 2021 Karbeling Leadership Awards

The 2021 recipients of the Jerry Karbeling Leadership Award were Isabelle Tharp (Drake University) and Alexis Clouse (University of Iowa). This award recognizes student pharmacists for their contributions to professional organizations and the political process. The award aligns with the advocacy and involvement passions of its namesake, the late Jerry Karbeling.

Sharon Cashman and Lisa Ploehn were the winners of our 2021 Step Up for Students competition, raising an additional $2,252.45 for student scholarships.

Eggleston-Granberg Golf Classic

The Eggleston-Granberg Golf Classic is back in full swing! Golfers battled through rain and thunderstorms to raise over $10,700 in 2021, and enjoyed a sunny day in 2022 raising over $8,000 to support pharmacy innovation and student pharmacists at Drake University and the University of Iowa.

Foundation Institute

Keeping Iowa pharmacy thriving requires a sustained commitment to supporting our student pharmacists, developing future leaders, and advancing initiatives to innovate practice. Since 1960, Iowa’s pharmacy professionals have understood this and responded generously by regularly supporting the IPA Foundation.

In response, the IPA Foundation Institute was created to recognize those who, through a sustained annual or monthly gift, are committed to supporting Foundation initiatives. In addition to joining a prestigious group of donor leaders recognized by their level of annual giving, the Foundation Institute is an easy and convenient way to show your support for your profession.
