Look at the stories in the Old Testament of Balaam (Number 22) and Jonah (Jonah 1-4). Both men tried to take the reins of their lives from God's hands.
Lord, we thank you for your patience with our efforts to take control of our lives from you. We know that your wisdom and loving guidance will help us prosper and give us hope.
