A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ‘Grace to you and peace from God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.’ ‘691’ NEW CHURCHES PLANTED IN 2020 & A MINISTRY PRESENCE ESTABLISHED IN ‘THREE’ NEW COUNTRIES! Paraphrasing the gospel of Matthew 16:18, Jesus reminded us that “He would build His church, and the gates of Hades/Hell will not overcome it.” [NIV]
Bishop Talmadge Gardner
2020 was a year where COVID-19 impacted almost every corner of the earth – and despite the horrific impact of this pandemic on the global population – “the darkness could not overcome the light of the gospel.” John 1:5 [ESV]
Our 2020 World Missions Statistical Report (Please see pages 20-29 of this publication) shows that the IPHC now has a ministry presence in 101 countries not including the United States, Canada, or Brazil. We also report having 11,932 churches and a membership of 1,651,502 outside of the US. In 2020, this reflected the planting of 691 new churches and our establishing a ministry presence in three new countries: Bulgaria, Cameroon, and Senegal. The global IPHC church now has a nine times larger membership than our mother church in the US. The country that has the largest IPHC presence is Ethiopia, which reports a membership of 510,000 in 525 churches, equating to an average church size of 971. Bishop Desalegn Kekebo Oda serves as the leader of the Ethiopian PHC church – he is a powerful evangelistic preacher of the gospel. The continent of Africa [Southern, Eastern/Sub-Saharan, and West Africa Regions] now reports a membership of 1,226,960 in 6,026 churches. World Missions Ministries [WMM] has been challenged by Presiding Bishop Beacham’s vision to have a ministry presence in 150 nations and birth 5,000 new congregations outside of the United States as we move forward with Arise 2033.

In partnership with Jim and Peggy Eby and Mission Catalyst International, WMM began training and resourcing missionaries, national leaders, church planters, pastors, and evangelists in six strategies. Those strategies are: 1. Prayer 2. Evangelism or winning the lost 3. Discipling believers 4. Planting churches 5. Targeting the 6,900 unreached or unengaged people groups in the world 6. Changing a paradigm by challenging nations to become sending as opposed to receiving nations Since implementing these six strategies globally through our twelve regional networks beginning in 2018, by God’s grace, we have planted 439 churches in 2018, 960 churches in 2019, and 691 churches in 2020 for a total of 2,090 new church plants in the past three years. As a result of our structural re-alignment, there are 108 nations within our Regional boundaries with no IPHC presence, and one of the goals we were challenged with was to establish a ministry presence in 150 nations by the year 2033. At the end of 2017, we were in 93 nations. At the end of 2020, we were in 101 countries. We have 49 more countries to establish a ministry presence in. These 108 nations must become our focused priority if we are going to exceed our goals for Arise 2033. This is our defining moment. We have the next twelve years to change and shape our destiny. Jentezen Franklin’s prophetic word to our faith family during the Tuesday evening Celebration Service in Cincinnati at our 24th General Conference in 2001 still rings in my ears and weighs heavy on my heart, and I quote: “The places that have reeked with death will become springs of living water, and those places that looked like Ezekiel’s boneyard will become places of mighty marching armies. I will visit this movement. I will cause you to lead as a mighty people in a move of God that will sweep not only the nation, but it will touch the nations of the world.” “I have raised you up for such a time as this,” he continued. “And you cannot retreat. You must put your hands to the plow and not look back, for your days of harvest are not behind you. Your fields are ahead of you,” declares the Lord of Hosts. I am asking you to join me in praying that Pentecostal Holiness Churches around the world will be awakened: • by our vision and call to prayer Page 5
A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR • to the urgency and need to reach the lost • to their responsibility to disciple new believers • to understand the importance and priority of planting new churches • to understand that we have been commanded to Go and Make Disciples of All Nations and that, as believers of Christ Jesus, we are obligated to reach the unreached and unengaged • And, I am praying that nations will begin to understand that, with immigration demographics being what they are today, this is a “Kairos”, or opportune moment in time, to position our existing 99 nations to become SENDING as opposed to RECEIVING nations According to the Mission’s Agency, SEND INTERNATIONAL, “There are 3.1 billion unreached people on the planet even though experts estimate that the church has 3,000 times the financial resources and 9,000 times the manpower to finish the Great Commission.” You must know that WMM is passionate about seeing the Great Commission come to fruition. This is our season, this is our time, and this is our Kairos moment! I am asking and challenging you today; let us commit ourselves to the work and ministry that God has called us to – to ARISE 2033. If I can paraphrase Jentezen’s prophetic word, the Holy Spirit is saying, “I have raised you up ‘IPHC’ for such a time as this, you cannot retreat. You must put your hands to the plow and not look back, for your days of harvest are not behind you. Your fields are ahead of you.” We must move forward with apostolic vision and anointing to do that new thing that has been prophesied over us. Remember that the best is still to come! WMM COVID-19 INTERNATIONAL RELIEF FUND UPDATE WMM’s COVID-19 International Relief Fund has dispersed $904,350.88 to 69 countries to date.
Page 6
The need is still ongoing as many countries continue to be affected by the surge of the COVID-19 Delta variant, COVID restrictions, lockdowns, unemployment, and uncertainty. We desperately need your help. Steve Cofer received the following note from Jamaica this week: “Good morning Steve, Always praying for you, the family, and the ministry. But I just felt early this morning to pen you these few lines, how are you coping in this Covid times? Back here we have had a Covid surge leading us back into curtailing of our operations, 50 persons only in the sanctuary with the others on zoom. We also did another Covid care package 3 weeks ago. Reopening of schools is in doubt but we put together monthly package for the children on our care list, thanks to the contributions from World Missions Ministries International COVID Relief Fund and People to People Ministries. Steve, I don’t know where all of this is going but one thing is certain, Jesus knows. Amid all of this, we baptize 4 candidates 2 weeks ago and we are still focus on evangelism. Quarantine is on, early shut down of the society but we are coping. Steve be assured my prayers; our prayers are there for you and our organization may God richly bless and keep you all. Yours Rev Paul Johnson/Jamaica PHC” Let me reiterate our pledge to you that 100% of every contribution is being disbursed to the field to assist with the many requests. To contribute to this fund or learn more about the relief efforts that these funds are assisting with, visit https://iphc.org/missions/covid-19-international-relief-fundreport/. IN CONCLUSION This remains a Kairos, or opportune time for action, for World Missions Ministries. Your partnership, however, is critical to our accomplishing the vision of Arise 2033. We cannot do it alone. You have always had a vision that extended beyond the US. Eternity will one day reveal the true impact that you have made in our quest for souls through the ministry imprint of the IPHC. Thank you for positioning us to be People of Promise and conduits of Hope, globally. Please know that I am honored to serve you and serve with you ‘for such a time as this’! For their first assignment, they will work alongside Todd and Stephanie Presley in Wales as they plant a new church in Neath, evangelizing and equipping leaders while learning the culture. They have three precious children: Isaac, Philip, and Lydia. Joshua and Bethany graduated from Emmanuel College and, for the past 12 years, have faithfully served in youth and children’s ministries, outreach, discipleship and pastored a local church. They led the church they pastored for nearly 9 years through a rebirthing and replanting process. Both have served in various roles of Conference leadership in Spirit Life Ministries (the Upper SC Conference, IPHC). UPDATES HOPE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA
In Southern Africa, as churches are struggling under the COVID strain, there are some encouraging reports of HOPE. Malawi planted 44 new churches in 2020. Zambia’s church planting initiative increased from 817 churches in the year of 2019 to 1,088 churches in 2020. Mozambique planted an additional four churches. In Antananarivo, Madagascar, during the lockdown, Pastor Tojo started a radio station in his home, reaching people in a 70-kilometer radius. Many new converts have been added to the church. While South Africa is badly affected by COVID-19, the church has forged ahead. By Joe & Maggie Delport

PROVISION IN THAILAND
We are pleased and honored to be one of the recipients of the 2021 Project Antioch Grants. Our sincere thanks to Bishop Talmadge Gardner and the World Missions Council for awarding Thailand Theological Seminary’s ongoing building project the additional $50,000 grant. It was very much needed for the completion of its construction by August this year as scheduled. This building will be the venue for the graduation of about 300 students in October 2021. It has a 1,000 person seating capacity. We also thank each of the donors and Dr. Terry Tramel and his staff for being an instrument to this endeavor through the “GO Offering.” By Albert & Jiep Gonzales
UPDATES REACHING PEOPLE IN JAPAN
Recently, we have had three siblings start attending our Sunday School. Their grandmother is a member of our church, but her daughter and her children have only attended our special events. Her husband doesn’t like the church. However, the oldest son was having trouble in school, and the daughter found encouragement and support from our church members, so she has started bringing her children to Sunday School. The siblings, two boys and a girl, are enjoying hearing the Bible stories and doing the corresponding craft each Sunday. Please pray with us that God will work in the heart of the daughter and her children and that they can personally come to know the love and forgiveness only God can give. By Hiro & Eryn Bamba
BIBLE DISTRIBUTION IN BLANTYRE, MALAWI
At the Cure International Children’s Orthopedic Hospital in Blantyre, we, as a children’s ministry team, have an open door for ministry. Now, 20-30 children come in for corrective surgery each week. This allows for the opportunity to reach, teach, and minister to each child. Because of the generosity of faithful donors, we are able to send Bibles with the kids to their home villages where we cannot go. We also include Chichewa Gospel Tracts for kids to read themselves. When these kids come back for checkups, it gives us an opportunity for followup work. Pray for full-time workers serving in this hospital. By Althea Meyer

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT DISASTER RELIEF BY THE McCLUNGS
Our hearts are broken at the loss of life and the number of people still missing due to the recent floods that hit here in East Belgium and Western Germany. Last week, we received a prayer request by text message. A friend was stranded on the sixth floor of his apartment building. Within the text was a picture of flooding waters raging below, carrying debris and even a car. We learned that helicopters were rescuing people on the rooftops above. After praying, we watched the news as the devastation unfolded. We learned our church building and its surrounding neighborhood were flooding when the Vesdre River, here in Eupen, rose from one foot to over nine feet within the space of a few hours. Praise God; residents were warned, but they had very little time to evacuate. We instantly knew this was an important time and opportunity for us as a new and small fellowship of believers. We knew we had to reach out to our neighbors in practical ways - providing emergency supplies, helping with the clean-up, and sharing hope despite the devastation around us. Once the waters receded and officials deemed the area safe enough to enter, we saw just how bad things really were. Many of the streets and sidewalks are broken up. Debris was everywhere. First-floor businesses, homes, and our church were damaged badly. Several homes and businesses will even need to be demolished. THIS IS US ~ PEOPLE OF PROMISE The City of Eupen was very organized. Immediately, the clean-up began. Many people from Eupen and surrounding towns came to help. A pastor friend from Aachen came with two teens to help with the clean-up. Pastor Bill and Gretchen Schwartz, along with others from our Brussels and Antwerp churches, came bringing LOTS of drinks and supplies to pass out in the community. Page 12
MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT Mostly though, we all worked! Homes had to be cleared out. Our church had to be emptied. Big piles of wet muddy furniture, appliances, flooring, and debris lined the streets. The piles needed to be thrown into containers, and then the city hauled them away. It was amazing how much could be accomplished in one day! The military has now set up tents in the parking lot in front of our church. The relief center is there also. People can come and get food and drinks, fruit, canned goods, etc. As a church, we will still provide drinks and baked goods. Today there was a need for headgear flashlights - and Pastor Bill bought all he could find and brought them to the relief center! As immediate help dwindles, the local church still plans to continue outreach. We hope to provide food, water, and welcome home boxes when residents begin moving back into their homes. Please pray for open hearts and opportunities to share Jesus Christ and the promises that we have in Him! The inside of our building was destroyed. It will take months to rebuild. We have secured a temporary meeting place, and we are looking forward to our worship services this Sunday! We lost almost everything. We did have flood insurance, but it will not cover all of our losses. If you would like to make a special donation to Belgium Disaster Outreach & Relaunch of the Eupen church plant, you can give online at: https://give.iphc.org/project/belgium-eupen-church-plant Love, Mark & Jeannie McClung

STORY FROM THE FIELD AMSTERDAM BY MATTHEW & FEMKE HELLAND
Since 2017, we have been serving Spanish-speaking sex workers in Amsterdam’s Red-Light District. Out of this, we started a church called Iglesia Vida Nueva. Here is one of the many amazing stories we have seen taking place at our church. Read what Mayra[1] has to say: “When I was 22 years old, I came to the Netherlands with the idea of becoming a nanny. When I got here, I realized that the people who brought me here had no work for me as a nanny. The only option I had was prostitution. I remember the first cold fall day where I found myself going to the street for the first time as a sex worker. I had been dumped at a house where 24/7 women came and where all kinds of things were taking place. I wanted to go back home and found myself in a situation I did not desire. After a while, a man came into my life who helped me get out of prostitution. Yet, later, I decided I wanted to buy my mother a house back in Latin America. This meant that I would go back to working in the sex industry. However, as my son grew older, I decided that I had to get out of that work. I began working at restaurants, cleaning offices or helping at nursing homes. I decided to do whatever necessary to not have to work in sex work any longer. As a young girl, I loved to go to church, yet my mother forbade me from going to church any longer. This is a decision both she and I now regret. When the corona pandemic began, I started suffering from a very dark period of depression. I have always enjoyed drinking a lot of alcohol, yet suddenly this drinking habit became much worse. I felt like I was drowning and that the devil was pulling me under. I was scared and felt a huge emptiness inside of me that alcohol just could not fill any longer. I felt like I was unlovable, ugly and a horrible woman. As if I should rather give up and quit on life. The enemy was getting ready to just hang me up and destroy me with despair. One day, I decided, ‘Today I am going to church.’ I went even though I felt like a worthless ant; small and unimportant.
Page 16
When Pastor Matthew saw me, he began praying for me. I started crying like a baby all the way from the church to my house. I told everyone at home that I was now going to church and was going to serve Jesus. I felt great happiness and peace. The corona pandemic has not been good, yet it has been very good for me in that I have had time to go to my church. I have always been someone who loves to drink and loves to party. Yet now, I do not have that desire that I had previously to drink and to party. The Lord is changing me daily, and I am seeing his hand of blessing on me. I am having unexpected favor with new employers and experiencing blessings I could never had imagined. I do not feel the rage and hurt in my heart that I felt earlier. Without even realizing it, God has been working in my life and has given me a peace I did not have before.” We want to thank you all for your prayers and financial support. Because of people like you, we can continue to reach out weekly to many sex workers and help them quit prostitution and get to know Christ. In the last few weeks, we have gotten many messages from people who are able to get new work and no longer be sex workers. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF WHAT WE ARE DOING! MONTHLY PRAYER EMPHASIS
Dear Lord, You are awesome and You provide for Your people around the world who are in need. We ask forgiveness for the times when we are greedy with what You have given us or when we doubt Your provision, because we know You are so gracious, and Your love freely covers this world. Thank You for always providing for the needs of Your people and for equipping ministries like People to People to make an impact around the world. We ask, Lord, that You continue using People to People as a vessel to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of many across the globe. Please allow continued abundant provision for the children, food and clean water for the hungry, medicine for the sick, freedom for the trafficked, safety for those facing disaster and turmoil, and financial means for those who are trying to make ends meet. We also ask that You pour Your blessings over the People to People team and the individuals and churches who support this ministry. Please direct the hearts of Your people to continue with faithful generosity, which will allow People to People Ministries to carry on with the good works You have placed ahead. We thank You, Lord, and place our trust in You. In Your holy name we pray. Amen
