Documentation

Legal civil marriages Valid passports (foreigners) or official identification with photograph (Mexican) Tourist visa (foreigners, received upon entry to Mexico) Birth certificates (only applicable in certain hotels, please consult our wedding planners) Divorce decree (if applicable, please consult our wedding planners) Blood test (must be performed at hotel by authorized government doctor, please consult our wedding planners) 4 witnesses with valid passports and tourist visa (foreigners) or official identification with photograph (Mexican). If needed, witnesses can be provided by the hotel at no additional charge. *Without these documents, it is not possible to get married in Mexico.

NOTE: The couple and their four witnesses must arrive at resort at least 4 business days before the wedding. There are no weddings on Sundays or national holidays. Dates and times are subject to availability.

Religious weddings Visit the Parish Priest in the coupleâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s country. The couple must do the pre-marriage courses and all the paperwork required in their country. The couple must present a certificate ( Nihil Obstat ) from their Curia, where the Parish Priest give his approval to the Priest in Mexico in order to celebrate the marriage in our Parish and Diocese in Mexico. This original certificate must be sent in advance to the Priest who will officiate the marriage in Mexico and also a copy must be sent to our wedding planners. NOTE: Catholic weddings can be performed on-property at Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. All other hotels are located 20 minutes or less from a church if Catholic ceremony is desirable. The couple must arrive at resort at least 2 business days before the wedding. There are no weddings on Sundays or national holidays. Dates and times are subject to availability of the chosen church. These requirements are subject to change without notice. Please contact our wedding planners in advance. Catholic weddings are not recognized as legal weddings in the USA.

Symbolic weddings or Renewal of vows No documentation is required. NOTE: The couple must arrive at resort at least 2 business days before the wedding. There are no weddings on Sundays or national holidays. Dates and times are subject to availability.
