My name is Filippo Dozzi, italian architect graduated with honors in Sustainable Architecture at Politecnico di Torino (Italy). I just finished an internship at Miralles Tagliabue EMBT in Barcelona and i’m looking foward for a new work experience. In these last three years I did several international activities and everytime the best was to meet architects from other countries and share our knowledge. There are so many different ways to think architecture, as many as culture, and I think there is nothing better than working in an international and talent team and combining the best from each one to reach a great Architecture. For these reasons, I deside to continue travelling and moving aorund the world, discovering new places and beeing inspired by the different cultures. I would like to work in a stimulant architecture office, where I can increase my skills, meet talent architects and share what I learned during these last years. Best regards Filippo Dozzi

80 is a temporary pavilion operative during the summer and located in one of the historical garden of Parma. The short program requested to develop a light structure, easy to assemble and disassemble every year, where to place a cafĂŠ, a info.point and public toilets. We paid attention to the choice of materials and to the study of details, in order to create a functional and recognizable pavilion and at the same time respectful to the existing historical building. We developed a one floor curved modular wood structure, whose visual impact is minimized and its connection with the green area is amplified. 80 wants to be a new active element of the park, without being the protagonist.

Villa Teodorico Bachelor of UNIPR Team: F. Dozzi | G. Aldrovandi | L. Pettorazzi Location: Galeata _ Italy

The ruins of the Villa, that was built at the beginning of the fifth century, were only found in the middle of 1900s. In spite of the wealth and the amplitude of the findings, no work, oriented to value the ruins, has been done, actually the major part of them are still buried. Our idea was to bring to light the ancient splendour, developing an openair museum. We decided to re-build the antique volumes through dense [but not closed] sequences of boards, in this way the natural light can illuminate the spaces and the views on the panorama are guaranteed. Our project, with the exception of the primary steel structure, is totally suspended; it affects minimally the ruins and at the same time protects them from the bad weather.

The Hardcore of Taste ARCHmedium student competition Team: F. Dozzi | E. Baistrocchi I. Marcatelli | L. Pettorazzi Location: Paris _ France

Above all, the wall grows from earth to sky like a “raised prospect, lending a tension, which is given or just suggested, and, as by necessity it belongs to a constructive figure, it extends to a concrete presence. Our first encounter was with the mass of the building, its heaviness. Like a great tree needs roots, the building needed not just a place to rest upon, but a strong connection with the ground. This connection with the earth on which it lies is made evident by the constructive method and the consequent plastic material choice. A little like the rings inside a tree trunk, the building grows day by day and this growth is manifested in the facade. The windows follow the constructive logic. They are not manifested on the facade but are withdrawn so as not to overload the walls. Thus, the onlooker’s view, as it moves from the inside to the outside of the building, continually encounters a transversal perspective of the surroundings. If the light falls indirectly onto the floors and the internal walls trough its large windows, at night, the building seems to be cut out of pure light. Unusually for urban Paris the building is independent of the surrounding constructions on all four sides. The eye springs from corner to corner of the building, framed in its prospect of power and prosperity. The spectator is pushed by the building to move both inside and outside. In reality, the inside, the heart of the edifice, is also an outside. Even though the outside is compact and quiet, the inside is luminous and transparent in itself. The light slides for 30 metres over the glazed interior walls. Like a fruit or a shell, the building shields and protects its interior.
