Space not only is a physical mean, it is an entity that we perceive through - and wich we transform according to - our senses and emotions.
Our mindset shapes the perception of our surroundings, wich, vice-versa, exert an influence on our inner state.
So does any intervention in space.
Altough temporary, it modifies the perception and usage of a place during a given time-span, but the impact on our emotions goes far beyond its physical presence.
With this in mind, I have been exploring the notion of space, by experimenting different approaches to design, architectural scales, places.
These wanderings have ultimately taken me to spatial design, wich I have lately been investigating through my practice and studies.

And yet my exploration is far from over...
I graduated in 2020 from the University of Ferrara with a thesis on the reactivation of public spaces in São Paulo.
In 2021 I joined the office Ciclostile Architettura, in Bologna, where I worked on projects ranging from urban planning to interior design, signage and visual identity. This experience enabled me to develop a pragmatic yet flexible approach, working on varied projects and scales, in collaboration with several colleagues and technicians.
At the same time, different experiences such as workshops, competitions and a constant personal research have gradually fuelled my interest in scenography. Determined to make this passion an integral part of my profession, in 2023 I moved to Paris in order to follow the master Architecture et scénographies at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-Belleville.
While in Paris, I have been collaborating with the interior design firm Rousseau Dapelo and have done an internship at the scenography office Helft&Pinta.

through the ILLUSION
Installation for an urban festival in Tortosa
Illusion is a distorted perception of reality, induced by the strong hope that our desires will come true. There is something attractive that progressively pulls us away from reality by projecting us into a suspended dimension - just as in daydreams. Desire can be so strong to let us misrepresent the state of things, as if adense layer kept us apart from it.
Through the illusion materializes the condition of being stuck between dreams and reality and the resulting state of progressive detachment. Leading us across increasingly dense layers of iridescent fabric, the path through the Passatge becomes a journey from reality to illusion and then to the disillusioning return to ordinary life.

theatres en UTOPIE
Exhibition design for utopian models
As part of a workshop of the master Architecture et Scénographies, the students revisited Yann Rocher’s exhibition Théâtres en utopie, proposing a new exhibition design.
The mezzanine of the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de ParisBelleville is transformed into a stage, and the exhibition becomes the setting for a live performance.
A table is set in the middle of the room. Guests are seated around the table, a social space and forum for discussion, and take part in a play around the scenography.
The 3d-printed models of the utopian theatre projects become stage devices, actors and subjects. The models show off, nourishing the conversation like exquisite dishes. In this staging, architecture changes its role from container to content. The plot unfolds in several acts, with the models served up like different courses at a dinner party.

STRANGER in a strange land
An unexpected landscape for an exhibition on the dissident chinese art
Stranger in a strange land, an exhibition curated by François Cheval, investigates the centralization of power and culture in China through the artworks -photos and video installations - of artists coming from different ethnic minorities. The generous halls and spaces of the Centquatre - a cultural center in the north Paris- becomes the background for a new landscape. In the hall full-lenght red curtains hanging from the ceiling form a surreal perimeter, as a metaphor of the centralizing attempt to uniform and annihilate the diversities. Once inside this perimeter i fact the density of the curtains fades as the strict grid is interrupted by the apparition of solid mineral volumes. The monolites mark the structural elements of the hall, guiding the visitor inside the ateliers. Here they invade the space, break or assemble like quarry blocks, becoming a support for the artworks. The mineral appearance recalls natural landscapes depicted and at the same time represents the resistance and persistency of the artist and the minorities.

domesticated FIRE
Revisiting the fireplace
In the constant human struggle between fighting and longing for nature, we only accept natural elements into our household once we have controlled, domesticated them. Similarly, we brought fire into our homes to serve our basic needs, but as soon as technology allowed it, we found ways to create harmless replicas: we cook on induction stoves, we sit by fake, electric fireplaces. The installation explores the of the campfire, synthesizing it into three simple and playful shapes. At first glance they resemble dangerous hot plates, but ultimately, they are just another pet inside your domestic space.

SATURNO
Weaving the limit
The installation is an answer to the physical separation between the public and the private: on one side calle Obispo Bustamante, on the othe the the housing courtyard.
Thus the proposed project gives relevance to spaces for encounter, encouraging direct relations between residents, neighbours and visitors. This need is answered by a simple wooden structure, composed of just the 24mm thick wooden boards offered by the festival’s sponsors and assembled through hardware. Benches overlooking the street and the courtyard are installed against the gate and a canopy is built. The canopy allows the visual and physical reunification of the two typologies of space, giving rise to a new spatial experience, recalling the filter of a porch. A third kind of space is therefore created: a mediation between the private and the public environment. What once was a limit becomes now a connection.

transcending FORM
A stop for the pilgrims around the ruins of a chapel
The new complex of San Giovanni in Val di Lago offers to the pilgrims following the via Francigena a journey of descent and ascension through hypogeum and elevated volumes defined by archetypal geometrical shapes.
Acessing from north visitors find themselves in a linear path flanked by olive trees, wich soon becomes a ramp, leading to the first building of the complex. The square volume represents earthly life: it hosts the pilgrims accommodation, fulfilling their material needs. Semi-buried into the ground, it reconnects to the structure of the nearby necropolis. The only natural lightsource inside the pilgrim’s room comes from roof windows, in an invitation to rest and contemplation.
On the other end of the path, the auditorium, provides a space for intellectual and communal activities. Its triangular print points towards the destination of the camino, reminding the pilgrims of their aim. The roofing transforms into an additional auditorium and a terrace overlooking the site. In between the two additions stands the octagonal chapel. It is subject to a light restoration and is topped with an efte dome, inside wich a translucent sphere is suspended: the perfectly uniform shape, embodies Heaven’s vault and the presence of the divine, bringing the visitor closer to the transcendent. *
