P O R T F O L I O XIYU ZHANG 825886/ DESIGNING ENVIORNMENT
In the morning, students may have classes, and they always use the fastest way across the space in front of the building. Some of the students may go to union house to buy breakfast. At the busiest time during the day, most students finish the classes from MSD at this time, or go to another classes. During this time, some pedestrian may sit on the grass to eat or drink. Rarely do students still walk in 9 pm for their safty, unless they studied in library and have classes. And the most pedestrians across this way to go to tram stop.
OCCUPY Long long time ago, there was a group of creatures living in a corner of the interplanetary. Until they found a new planet, desolately. Therefore, they stepped on their own footprints on the planet and quickly occupied the territoryďźŒand then they left. After 100 million years, a group of new left developed, they called themselves-human, and give the planet a name, the earth. When they found the footprints of their predecessors, calling them as aliens.
Here i apply my narrative to the site and the assemblage model, i used the shadow of the model and the boundaries of the site. the colors of the collage are inspired by the famous artist Wassily Kandinsky. The stage below the collage represents the word "OCCUPY". The colorful parts can be the most important parts to consist of the final project, and the plan is based on this
First, is this rectangle building, it is a regular form and it occupies the more space in this area, to represent the human, just the most common group in the contemporary world. Next one is the triangle form architecture, I choose triangles to represent alien. in terms of triangle, it always gives people an impression of mystery, and people often connect it with aliens. In the end, is this circle platform, I use circle to reveal the planet and circulation of the world.
my model is consisted of 3 parts, and they are formed by triangle, rectangle and circle respectively. Rectangle- This place is for students to study and it will provide 5 to 10 beds for final students or students who would like to relax at noon. The roof is an open space with grass and trees for them to take a fresh breath. Triangle- The shelter below is a place to let students eat the fast food, or drink something, or just sit here to wait for their classes. It can be playful and enjoy. Circle- This platform divided into two floor, the ground floor is a passage to show the the design projects by students, and the first floor is for doing excises, with some fitness equipment, the atmosphere is upwarding.
