Praneel

Dearest Uncle, Happy 50th! Since this is a special year for you, I hope you recall all the good times in life! One thing I like about you is that I find you very chilled out all the time. I love the way you ask me,“Phalsi, why is it that you don’t have a boy friend yet?” Well, I find that very cool!!!Especially from an elder at home! Just like to tell you that your suntan does nothing to your fairness when you hit an air conditioned gym: He He..:-) I wish that each moment be special for you today!!! Love

Phalsi

To Our Dear Friend Suneel, We now welcome you to the over 50’s Club. As you know, I joined this club last year and it gets tougher every year. Sometimes you think that you are still 30 years old in the brain department but the body tells you to stop being a fool and act your age. Fortunately, people like us remain positive and we continue to strive at everything that we do. You’re trademark kindness and persona has left very lasting impression in our hearts for both Alice and I and will alway remain.

Our Love and Best Wishes

Paul and Alice Rees

We are very sorry that we cannot be with you to celebrate your milestone but you can be assured that we will both be thinking of you on your day. We are most sure that you will enjoy the day with your family and friends and I will celebrate with you on my next visit (maybe towards the end of June). Take care our friend.

Happy Birthday and all the best wishes from the Team of FRIEDRICH SCHWINGTECHNIK from Germany

Happy 50th Birthday with love from Geoff and Sandra

Happy 50th Birthday Suneel I hope this birthday wish finds you well, clean and sufficiently covered with fresh, fine powder! It seems like yesterday that you were staying at my home in Sydney, generously covering my bathroom walls and floor with fine fragrant powder after your shower. Happy Birthday to my favourite, well groomed Indian friend. Enjoy the celebrations.

“Suneel” A magic word entered in my life 4 months back. I have already two friends named ‘Sunil’. But this ‘Suneel’ is far different, very special (may be because of having ‘ee’ in his name--- ‘e’—for Elegant,2nd ‘e’ for Executive. A ‘born Executive’). I met Suneel 4 months back at Pune Club. That time I never imagined that I will fall in love with Suneel in first interaction. ( Sorry Archana—pl don’t misunderstand me). I thought I am good Sales person till I met Suneel. I was impressed about his personality, his passion for Bevcon to take it to higher level. After meeting me 3—4 times in Pune Club—he simply told me-“ Hemant-if you want to fulfill your ideas, dreams to build the Organization—then come & join Bevcon. Bevcon needs you “—So clear, bold statement, coming from bottom of his heart—I was clean bold. Very professional, open minded. Always ready to take the feedback. Very few people knows their strengths & weaknesses. He is one of them. Good personality with sharp technical brain—a rare combination of ‘Brain & Beauty’. Very Witty. Tremendous sense of humor. Makes other person at ease. Customer oriented. I met so many customers—all of them talks so high about Suneel. I think, “its not so important how much wealth you collected in life, but how many people you gather around you. ” Suneel is a perfect example. His ambition to grow—slow but steady – taking entire Bevcon family together, intact—is the proof of his professionalism. He gives importance to the people, since he knows that ultimately they are going to build the organization.Very true. Suneel finds every person good(with some strengths),because he himself is a good person. He believes in open culture, freedom. (I always tell him that—Freedom is good with discipline) A perfect balanced person, good human being & more than that a good friend—whom nobody wants to loose. I always believe – if you love somebody, respect somebody— only giving good wishes is very common style—best thing to prove that you really respect Suneel is-- work towards his dreams—deliver what you commit—excel in your operations—every day. We Bevcon team should achieve few mile stones, every year—which is the real gift to Suneel. ,Aarti, Nikhil, Akshada—are joining me-- to wish Suneel a very happy Birth day---wishing him to have great success, good loving people, peace, & good health. God bless

Hemant

Kallu, Anusheel, BMD

Kallu is the Vernier Caliphers Man. Since the first day I spotted him in Tanjore in 1976 in All While Flannels on the Kalyanasundarm (is this where actually Sunil’s name metamorphosized to Kallu?) High School playground for an inter-district cricket match, till the last time I met in a BITS 78 party in Hyderabad, the length of the shirt that pops out of his trouser is exactly the same, thanks to Vernier Caliphers. He has been extremely kind to me in my moments of sadness as also of profundity. He wanted me as a consultant for BevCon and he is a successful businessman today because he did not go ahead with it. His hospitality has been extraordinary when he had the time to host events. I would like to know only one thing: has he gone digital with the measurement of how much the shirt should stick out, or is still loyal to his degree: mechanical? KALLU SINGH! BEST WISHES ON YOUR HALF CENTURY AND PRAYERS FOR ANOTEHR HALF AT LEAST.

KALLU TURNS 50 ... So, my friend, Kallu turns 50 today ... I am very happy and fortunate to have been able to observe my friend's life from his 18th year till date and hopefully will be able to continue to monitor his life hereafter also ... A glimpse into Kallu's life as associated with me ... 1978 : We both alongwith so many others who are part of our coterie of friends called Budh guys came together by chance at ISBT, Delhi. I do not really recollect any conversation with him at that time or any one else except Basu and Nara. 1979-80 : We both alongwith another 22 boys(?) formed a gang and got rooms allotted together in downstairs T-Wing in Budh Bhawan. The strike during our 2nd year gave me some time to learn basics of tennis from Nara and so my friendship with Kallu went up a notch because I needed to borrow his tennis racquet. 1980 : We again ganged up as a group of 24 and got allotted upstairs Front-Wing in Budh Bhawan. The lots drawn for room allotment made us sidees with me in 204 and Kallu in 205. I think Ranjit was in 206. I had a Grundig Cassette Player (by the way it is still there and functioning) and Kallu used his engineering skills to draw a wire from my player to his room where he installed a speaker in a “ghada”. 1981-84 : Not much contact except maybe once in a way at Pilani and then none. Then in 1984, we again came in contact when he visited me and some others at our Mumbai Andheri flat in 1984. Soon thereafter I visited Hyderabad and he took me around to IDPL Colony where I stayed and had work and also to various other places for sightseeing. Coming out of his Yousuguda house, we cut across the empty land to cross the Nala (near Sarathi Studios) towards Vengal Rao Nagar and just drove striaght across the empty land upto Erragada to reach IDPL. 1987 : I shifted to Hyderabad and we came back together and would meet up regularly. It was on Ganesh Chaturthi of 1987 that Kallu became the 2nd human being after Tarak Chow to come to know of my proposed matrimony with Vinita and also to see her photograph ... while we were drinking beer at Parade Grounds in my red Maruti. He also is the only friend who was invited for my engagement ceremony. He was always part of all my family functions and celebrations be it my birthday,Vinita's birthday or any other occassion. 1988-1992 : The friendship continued to blossom and we have had our share of good times together, be it taking a drive to Kurnool to attend the wedding of Deepak Reddy in my red Maruti or attend wedding of Venkat Kamalakar at Patancheru in blinding rain in his Ambassador (when we went off the road). 1993 : I was invited to Chennai to attend Praneel's wedding and he was the perfect host there. Immediately after Praneel's wedding I shifted from Banjara Hills Road No. 4 to Raj Bhawan Road and we continued to keep meeting and HALU. Much more is there but I had decided I will restrict myself to just one page and so need to end here because the page has come to an end but I will continue this write up but verbally from 1994 onwards when we meet together “phursat mein” ... Cheers!

Hi Kallu (Suneel sounds rather formal) This is what I wanted to say initially ‘coz I just turned 50 about 6 months ago: Congratulations to you, my old friend, Birthday wishes to you, I send. You look good for your age, I could say, But you look good to me any day. When I look in the mirror, I sigh, 'Cause I know the mirror doesn't lie. You're aging like me, so you see You are getting to be an old guy. But then I realized it isn’t apt for you. On a totally different note; You are one of those I admire, respect for many a virtue Discipline – in whatever you do Dogged determination – to get what you want Patience & Perseverance – to achieve your goals Blast from the past: 1. You are the only one who never missed an 8 am class from the ‘Budh’ gang of 24. 2.

You are the only one who went to every class with shoes on and your shirt neatly tucked in.

3.

You are the one who came to BITS with a reputation of a stylish cricketer from Salem. Style you had – No runs from your bat.

4.

Remember how stylishly you let the ball go through your legs in the covers off the last over in an Inter Mess cricket match.

5.

Standing up for me in a “night canteen” fight after the “Yamunda” episode.

6.

The great “hunger strike” in front of Diro’s house – nice hot pulao from Pankaj’s house and the subsequent lathi charge – how you and I ran for our lives – how you scaled the wall to escape.

7.

There are many more …….

Kallu, Shailu, Nara

Here is wishing you a very happy birthday again and many more to come! Have a wonderful day! Have a drink on me too!

Nara

Kallu, Way back in 1978, when I met you first I wondered “wow what a cool chap”. Neatly dressed, cool & almost composed with a slight frown as if something was missing. I wondered if you went to the same “Nai” for haircut as rest of us Not sure which six-a-side team from Budh T-Wing you were part of – Was it? Peeni – Nana – Banto – O or Peeni – Nana – Banto – OO or Peeni – Nana – Banto – OOO 2006 – Bangalore (Lunch at Forum Mall) – No change Same old Kallu!! 2008 – SJR BITS Pilani – Same old Kallu walks out of his cab & gives me a lift to Nutan to visit Raju’s even before he’s checked in. Stay the way you are. Have fun & Enjoy. Cheers

Kallu, Vernier Callipers , Laxman, friend and maybe at times for other’s to understand who I am addressing, Suneel 30 years and that is a long time to know someone. Yet each one of us has grown differently after we left college. But your style, way of speaking and till recent times, you measurements have been the same. I am proud to have been your buddy at college and a friend since then. You have many things to be proud of and one of them that I too endorse is your success in your professional life.

Cheers PN Junction Dear Kallu, You are going to be 50. Good god. I am sure you had a great 50 years till now. I don’t know if you remember that we used to go out for jogs irrespective of the season ( crazy that we used to wear sweater and run during peak winter mornings at 5 30 am) and go to the gym for work outs during our first 3 years together. I remember you as a well built man even then, very handsome, fitness conscious, disciplined and of course a class apart in dressing up and showed a good grooming. I recently saw your picture and you look as handsome and you were. I remember the small spool tape recorder and the melody it used to give to all. I can carry on and on. But I will stop here and just pray to the almighty to give you another 50 years of good life full of love, good health and happiness. God bless. Regards

T R Mohan ( TRM/IBBA )

We all love you...

50

years of incredible journey

A few days before the incidence, after playing Squash I headed for the showers. On seeing me enter the shower, Sunil, kamlesh, Baig and a few others started peeping from the side of shower curtain, from below and so on. Being used to take showers naked openly I wasn't troubled at all. A few days later as we were bantering in the changing lounge, Sunil headed for the showers and our idiot friend Kamlesh informs us all that Sunil is taking a bath.We all got up and headed for the showers. I yanked out fully the shower curtain of Sunil and there was our friend, lathered in soup from head to toe with his hands on his hair and turned towards us. You could see the shock on his face, standing fully naked in front of all not only us bad guys but also quite a few others including women. Well you can imagine what happened then, Sunil comes out with his favourite cuss word "band kar re bosidi ke and kept repeating the cuss". He could neither grap the curtain since I was holding it or he could come out. He was unable to do anything. We all burst out laughing. I am sure the women folk out there who were in numbers had a great time cause we all saw them burst into laughter with us. Well after that he never attempted to open my shower curtain again. In fact all of them never showered when I was around. Sunil had this habit of showing his butt whenever a joke used to be cracked on him. In the changing room, we all were bantering as usual after playing and sunil had a towel wrapped around him. I was pulling his leg and in response to my banter he turned around pulled his towel from his butt and started showing me his butt. At that moment two things happened, I turned away to talk to somebody and in walks in Rajiv Reddy the CMD of Country Club. Sunil's butt was facing right at him. You could see the astonishment on his face and as sunil turned he too saw that it was Rajiv to whom he was showing his butt. Well there was a pin drop silence with everybody including the staff looking except that i burst out laughing, I just could not control, with it everybody burst out. Rajiv being a good sport also joined in and well then you can imagine what happened. All of us piled on him to remove his towel and he screaming murder. So that was our friend Sunil. You can also politely ask him what happened to his poor dog. I am sure this incident he will tell you all himself, as a clue just ask him why did he come tearing home from club when he learned Nalin and kamelsh had reached his home. You will have a nice laugh on hearing this episode from him. I give my best wishes for his 50th birthday for becoming younger. This is the prime time of a guy's life attaining wisdom and experience over the years. Well as the saying goes "Watch your man at 40" in Sunil's case it is fifty, he's always late you know. With Best Regards

Nalin

Dear Mr Suneel, Anyone who has the ability to see purpose in every aspect of life never grows old. One of the signs of passing age is the birth of a sense of fellowship with other human beings as we take our place among them. You've heard of the three ages of man - youth, age, and "you are looking wonderful." There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people around you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will have truly defeated age.

Sqn Ldr K Jayaram & Mrs P Jayaram

With best wishes & regards for wonderful 50th birthday.

Dear Suneel, Wishing you a very happy birthday Our very special wishes to you. Have a blast!

Vinita and Vikram Bector

Dear Suneel, “You are ambitious, passionate and very focused. Your ability to dress immaculately at all times is really amazing. Though we were representing different Companies and were competing for all Helical Gear Box orders, you had a knack of converting that contact and interaction into a lasting Friendship. You are a visionary and overall a FANTASTIC HUMAN BEING. On the occasion of his 50th Birthday I wish you the best of Health, Wealth and Happiness. Very many Happy returns of the Day and many more!

Hi Suneel ji,

It is very difficult for me to express in a few words the joy I have in Suneel joining the 50s club. On this occasion I can recollect my first meeting with him at his office maybe 20 + yrs back and since He has always been somebody who has an exclusive space in my large heart, I can only say to him that he has reached the half way stage and now begins the best phase of his life When he can encash on all the good deeds of the fifty years that have gone past. There is not anything more valuable for me than offering my hand in friendship for the rest of his life With lots of love I wish him a great day. Dependably yours,

Vijay Mohan Raj Hi Suneel
