Miyajima Island Japan

One of the most memorable experiences whether you arrive during the height of the day or the mystique of sunset is the “Torii Gate

Torii One or more torii gates mark the approach and entrance to a shrine. They come in various colors and are made of various materials. Most torii, however are made of wood, and many are painted orange and black.

There are wild deer on the island that have become accustomed to people. In the day the deer wander around the same sites as the tourists, and in the evening they sleep along the walking paths.

The path to Momij-so Roykan

Sitting room by day; bedroom by night. The presentation of the lavish and comfortable futons was a sight to behold (and restfully enjoyed)

Fine Japanese Dinning (some western offered also) The women of Momiji-so prepare the best meals to be found in Japan. Believe me their culinary effort is straight from the heart and the admired Japanese tradition of excellence. Although, I am not a great sea food lover or admirer of lip-puckering relish either; their presentation (served in my room Japanese style) did not go to waste. Breakfasts were tailored to my tastes – western but with a Japanese twist (soft boiled eggs, salad, fruit and Texas style toast – plus the best coffee I ever had in Japan.
