*To assist with planning, IRSC has identified a number of program tracks within the framework of the A.A. Degree program to prepare students for many of the most common transfer majors. An advisor can work with the student to develop a customized plan for the intended transfer institution as well as for additional transfer majors not included in this list. When you graduate from Indian River State College with an A.A. Degree, your diploma will say Associate in Arts. Even though you’ll have picked a specialization, or “transfer track,” so you are prepared for your upper division coursework, IRSC doesn’t identify this as an individual “major.” There is just one A.A. Degree.

14 Exceptional Opportunities
Indian River State College 15
IT’S DIFFERENT HERE Smaller Class Sizes. Dedicated Success Coaches & Advisors. Approachable Faculty. Internships & Service Learning. Study Spaces. Gathering Places. Honor Societies and so much more! IRSC students get more out of their educational experience. They don’t have to wait until graduate school to track the financial markets with Bloomberg Terminals or go hands-on in state-of-the-art science laboratories. Outside the classroom, we connect you with local businesses through projects and internships. We’ll even help you find a career after graduation.
Some people think that we have fewer opportunities here, but IRSC really has exceptional resources. I loved that the theatre department gave us industry insight by offering free workshops and Q&A sessions with professional performers. We learned the same principles taught at big universities. My education helped me get accepted into Spelman College and Howard University’s theatre program. I couldn’t have accomplished that without IRSC.

BECOME A PIONEER JOIN THE THOUSANDS OF ALUMNI WHO HAVE CHANGED THEIR LIVES AT IRSC Since 1960 more than 80,000 students have graduated from IRSC—from high school students who began in our Dual Enrollment program to adults who juggled family obligations and jobs during their academic journeys. The path to achieving their dreams was shaped by the opportunities surrounding them at IRSC. Your path will be even bolder as those opportunities grow. Partnerships like Adobe and Bloomberg, expansions of academic and workforce programs, growth in transfer opportunities and relationships with local and national corporations give IRSC students real-world opportunities, even as that world changes with increasing velocity. There’s never been a better time to be an IRSC student. It’s never been more about YOU. Something big is happening at Indian River State College. Be a part of it. Be a Pioneer.
IRSC is a family tradition. My brother earned his A.A. degree while he was in high school, and after that my mother and I earned our degrees together. The healthy competition helped me succeed in my most challenging classes and prepared me for transfer to the University of Florida!
—Trent Burger A.A. Degree
Indian River State College 29
I started at IRSC as a Dual Enrollment student and expected to graduate with an Associate Degree in 2017. Three children and many challenges later, I’ve earned both my A.A. and Bachelor’s degrees. Every step of the way my kids have driven me to keep going. It’s because of them that I’m where I am today.
—Selena Esquivel-Garcia
B.S. Degree, Biology
Not every veteran is the same. We all have different needs. I’ve come to need to constantly learn, to study something new just for the sake of learning. It’s nice to have different items in our toolbox and I think IRSC does an outstanding job of providing for veterans. IRSC puts veterans in the best position to succeed.
